“From a tradesman point of view it’s a site which encourages the cheap and nasty . They allow up to 5 tradesmen to be shortlisted for one job and each are charged wheather you win the job or not. Customers want jobs doing for peanuts not realising that tradesmen are charged . I also think that the customer should be charged a small fee to use the site as this would filter out the time waisters.”
“Used a builder from My Builder. Ended up with an extension which has just failed the Building Inspection and is now going to cost a fortune getting it put right. Builder replied to a neutral comment with a load of lies and excuses. Wish I had never looked at the site”

He is an unqualified plumber and Gas safe registered Engineer. He does not work to a high standard. He is a Liar and a thief. He does not guarantee his work.”
“I’m a trader using MyBuilder, top rated with 100% genuine feedbac, yet I pray for the day a genuine, morale alternative comes along as the sties around at the moment are awful, MyBuilder, Checkatrade, Rated People etc., in theory great for the consumer, great for the trader, in reality abused by both and a money pit for the unscrupulous sites.
Traders can easily manipulate ratings & reviews and sites don’t give a toss as long they get the money in for reselling leads multiple times with everything set up to maximise and strangle every last penny from traders.
I’ve contacted all to tell how and what is being done, but with no interest from any to take corrective action.
Checkatrade & Rated People were the worst, alas now, MyBuilder has overtaken them both.
Uncontactable by phone, email only, if they respond it takes an eternity to resolve even the smallest, simplest of issue, and if it’s anything close to request a refund, forget it.
Considering us traders are the ones paying the money, and it can be a lot, they never seem to want to support you in case it upsets the consumer, in case they choose not to post another job, as without posted jobs, it’s nothing.
Terribly frustrating, in basic terms, if you can find an alternative lead source, take it and let this site go to the wall, it deserves it.”

Sure enough, Shaun Arrived on time. I was immediately impressed by his politeness and personality. he inspected the job and explained everything that needed to be done. There were some awkward situations for him to deal with given the layout of the bathroom, but he overcame these with professionalism and fully explaining everything that he was doing.
