“Initial consultation extremely friendly, reassuring. All staff made me feel confortable and at home, the procedure was explained fully and all questions answered. The surgery was more painful than I expected. There were problems achieving the correct pressure during the flap creation process and several attempts were made before it was achieved. This was quite painful. When the aneasthis wore off I was in quite a lot more pain than I expected. After about 6 hours of rest, the pain subsided. I wasn't expecting to be in as much pain as I was. However my eyesight over the following weeks became extremely sharp and was definitely worth the intial discomfort. It felt to me that I really was seeing the world anew. The experience was both disconcerting, me realising just how bad my vision had been all my life and amazing because of the new level of clarity. I experienced some inflamtaion in the following weeks and was monitored closely by the staff at Vision Express. At all appointments the staff were friendly, reassuring and helpful. I would definitely recommend the surgery to anyone with poor eyesight. I feel that the procedure has changed my life significantly.”

“extremely pleased with the improvement of my eyesight. Only concern was how difficult my near sight vision was. would've chosen the monovision option now considering the near sightvision being not as good as you expected. Very happy with the level of care i recieved at optical express, everyone was very welcoming and caring throughout.”

“The staff at Optical Express Shaftsbury Avenue were extremely help and I can't sing their praises high enough! They put me at ease and were very friendly, timely and professional. The procedure was done in a matter of minutes and I can't believe how quick the recovery time was. Definitely the best decision I've ever made!”

“I used monthly monovision contact lenses, which I also could leave in when sleeping for some years, as I planed my laser surgery. I wanted to try monovision lenses to see if I could be a candidate for monovision eye surgery and as it happens I was, I was also a candidate for laser surgery and since I went through with it I am extremely pleased with the results. My stigmatism was quite bad, but after surgery my sight was better than ever. I live in Norway and I travelled over specificly to be treated at Optical Express having looked into many options. Dont regret it for a second.”

“Really appreciate all the support. Made the whole process smooth and hassle free. Must admit the post-op recovery was a little more painful than i expected. But after 5 hours the pain went away almost instantly so it's finite which is good.”

“Overall the experience has been good, the surgery and aftercare have been exceptionally good and pain free with only a slight case of dry eyes as an after effect which is easily rectified with the drops provided. Life is so much more enjoyable and easier without the glasses, I would recommend laser eye surgery to anyone.”

“Review of lens replacement surgery. I had lens replacement in April 2012 at Cabots Circus in Bristol. At all times the staff were extremely helpful, from the initial consultation, to the surgery itself. I felt very nervous before the procedure and the staff were reassuring and put my mind at rest. The surgery staff were excellent. Now six months on from the surgery, I can say I am extremely happy with the results. My eyesight before was very poor -7 and -8, plus finding it difficult to read close up. I had to wear contact lenses which were becoming increasingly dry and glasses the rest of the time. My distance vision and reading vision were excellent straight away and there has been no adjustment needed. The middle vision took a while longer and if I am honest is not perfect in times of dull light. But the trade off for me is a life without contact lenses or glasses. My eyes have remained dry but that is due to my age and I have been recommended using viscose tears several times a day which has improved my vision greatly. I do have some floaters in one eye, but this is probably more to do with age and the fact I was very short sighted, than the surgery. I am able to ignore these. If anyone asked me about having the surgery, I would recommend it especially for the reading aspect. Obviously, I can only comment on my experience. I do have large pupils and this has made driving at night a bit difficult with glare from oncoming traffic, but this is getting better at the six month mark. Everyone is different and the surgeons are thorough in explaining the risks and benefits etc, which I was grateful for at the time. I am very happy with the result for me and it has made a huge difference to my life. Even simple things like actually being able to read the shampoo/conditioner bottles in the shower. Swimming without the hassle of contact lenses or not being able to see at all. I would recommend Optical Express in Bristol, I have had nothing but excellent service from them.”

“Had laser surgery in April and was made to feel really welcome and relaxed. Surgery was no bother at all, although I had to have the surgery again on my right eye as it had not improved enough. Had no worries about getting this done again and eyesight is perfect now. Really pleased with the results.”

“Came in for the consultation, Had them done about 10 days after all fine alough a bit sore, Contacts out after 4 days, Eyes a bit dry and uncomfortable in bright light still. 1 week later no more discomfort vision still blured. 2 weeks after slight blured sight but over all much better now, carrry on as normal.”
