2 things - it's unclear what the money's going to and if the recipient can tell how much is given. Also, your payment system is really annoying. It keeps trying to get me to use paypal when all I want to do is pay by card. Ended up having to enter my details twice.

Sorry we didn't manage to get back to you straight away but glad you ended up speaking to a member of the team and purchased your wedding gift too :)

Good idea but your payment system is dated and hard to read on the phone.

Thanks for your feedback Clem. You're probably referring to the PayPal product that we use to process payments. If you're paying with a PayPal account the service is very good, but if you are paying with a card as a "guest" the checkout does take a bit longer. We are always looking at ways to provide our users with the best and most secure payment options and PayPal does tick a lot of boxes. However we understand not everybody wishes to use PayPal and so we do offer another card payment method (Stripe) although it is up to individual Patchwork users whether they choose to link to this additional payment option or not. I think on this occasion your friends didn't! Again, thanks for your feedback we do appreciate it.

We are both in our 70's though fairly computer literate. We found the site complicated to use, for example - having put in a URL that included /recipients name we did not go directly to their list and actually found it quite difficult to locate the list. Please trial it on a few more elderly relatives, and then simplify.

Hello Alf and Caroline and thanks so much for taking the time to leave us a review of your experience of Patchwork. When someone creates a gift registry or honeymoon fund with us they are always provided with a personalised URL which will take their guests directly to their page and we always recommend that they do this to prevent the issue you mention! If someone doesn't provide the full URL of their page then you can still find your friends via our main homepage but of course this will take a little longer. Our team are always on hand via email, phone or LiveChat and are happy to help with any aspect of your purchase. We definitely designed Patchwork with simplicity in mind! Thanks again for your review :)

Initially the sight was too slow and first time around having put 2 items in my basket and written personal messages, the site said my basket was empty! Left it a day or so, & success! There was no delivery involved.. it was a money donation, exchange I assume, immediate?!

Had a lot of issues paying without logging into a PayPal account which I didn't want to do. I just wanted to pay with my card but it wouldn't let me 'continue and pay'

Inputting card details a little ragged

I am impressed with the idea, presentation and the personal connection of Pathwork. Unfortunately the paying system for me was complicated and not clear. I also was not expecting to see my photo and message displayed on the website( had thought I was only agreeing to the receiver of the gift being able to access... no problem, but maybe I read it wrongly) overall.. keen for this business to succeed.

Know a couple of items had been bought but were still on the wedding list when I ordered

Hi Eluned, Most couples that use Patchwork for a wedding registry allow patches to be purchased more than once. This allows for contributions towards an item or experience rather than one guest having to fund the entire thing. This makes the gifts or experiences more accessible to all who would like to contribute, no matter how small their budget. So this is a deliberate function of the site, and not a mistake. If they wish, couples may choose to limit the number of a certain patch that is available, but this is a personal choice for each couple. I hope this helps to explain better how our service works! Thanks, Rosie

clearer or more intuitive , selection of 'pictures' to donate , so UX clunky

Hi there, each picture represents a part of the gift - each with a set price. All "patches" (pictures) and prices are set by the creator of the page and not by us so we can't control the number of images or the price points selected. However we do encourage a wide selection of choices so that everyone can contribute at a price level that suits their budget. In this case there were patches ranging from £1 up to £100 with many prices in between. Multiple patches can also be purchased so it should be possible to make up the amount you'd like to spend. Happy to help at any time, please always get in touch with us so we can assist.

Die Zahlung machen ist etwas kompliziert. Es sind sehr viele Schritte

It was not that user friendly. It took me some time to determine what I needed to do to buy tickets or products. Furthermore, a necklace I had requested was not what I received.

Would have expected an email receipt to confirm payment.

Hi there, yes you will absolutely be sent an email confirmation / receipt! It might be that there's a short delay as we have been helping a great many schools so our site may be a little busier than usual. Have a lovely Christmas! :)

Went on Patchwork to support a school PTFA, found it rather difficult to find the correct fund.

Hi Terence, I'm sorry you couldn't find your school's page. It's best to follow the direct link sent by your school. We have hundreds of schools using our site so it's always best to follow the link which will take you straight to the page you are looking for :)

I realise you are only a portal, so you are dependent on what users actually put on their fund raising site. I tried to make choices where there were alternatives, and there was nowhere obvious to do this. I paid by PayPal. The text on the payment page is unusually small, and there was an attempt to compromise my account, which I spotted.

Payment wasn't straightforward. It seemed to all be through paypal and it kept trying to get me to use paypal rather than a separate debit card payment. It took several attempts for it to work. Also, the first attempt to pay for the items, after going through the process, it said the account wasn't live. There should be something in place where you are halted before going through payment process to then be told that the account can't receive payment. Not user friendly. The site itself looks good and I like the concept. The payment process needs streamlining.

Great idea. Lovely graphics. We wanted to choose a specific amount to give and went through the whole process to do so - choosing the appropriate option- and were not given the opportunity to choose amount and pay, but did post a message. This means we've sent three messages onto the patchwork and in the end had to choose 2 meals out as the only way to get to the PayPal / card payment option. Bit embarrassing for us to have sent three messages (We've not sent three gifts!) But otherwise a very clever idea. Thanks
