“Great idea and easy to follow choices. Payment infuriating! Had to do over and over as I did NOT want to use pay pal and it was confusing and hard to do and I still don't understand why I go an email from PayPal saying they had put my payment through. Please change this confusion and I will use Patchwork again”

Hi there, We're so sorry that you had issues on the PayPal site. We do offer another payment option (Stripe) which allows very easy credit or debit card payments, but unfortunately the couple to whom you were donating had chosen to use PayPal which we understand doesn't suit everyone. We are glad however that you enjoyed the experience on our site and would love to welcome you back again :)

“All good and I liked the UX provided, fast and intuitive. 1 honorable mention :) The view where the users can select the gifts is awesome. 2 annoying things: - When writing the message to put in the present I saw a very very bad flickering probably due to some validation under the hood, but it was really annoying. - The payment by Paypal, I know this is not entirely your fault but I had to fight a lot with Paypal. This is because Paypal is simply terrible, ugly and not user-friendly. On top of this, when a user buying gifts for a special occasion (like or honeymoon), you should expect people from all around the world, Paypal is simply terrible at managing internationalization. I had to refill my view 10 times before obtaining the proper one and I had to try 3 different credit cards :(”

“Great help from the online specialist that helped me navigate as it wasn’t clear what I needed to do. Was also frustrating not being able to see if things had sold out before clicking on the picture. Felt a little confusing but got there in the end. The concept is very good.”

Hello there, thank you for your review. We're sorry to hear that you had trouble! It sounds like you were on our mobile site which will have slightly different functionally to our desktop site. On the desktop site you can roll over the images and the price etc will pop up, on the mobile site you do need to click the image. Patchwork is a design led site and we decided not to detract from the beautiful images that our couples want to display by having prices overlaid on them. “I found it a nightmare to get around all your advertising and find how to simply log on to make a gift. Just give a clear heading "If you want to make a donation to someone-please click here!).”

Hi Adrian, We appreciate you taking the time to leave your feedback. We are not sure what you mean by advertising as we don't carry any adverts at all on our site. In terms of gift giving, usually couples will send the url direct to their own page and therefore giving a gift is very straightforward. Maybe you came through to our homepage instead? We only take our 3.6% commission as you receive funds. Our model means there's no upfront flat fee, we don’t hold your funds at any time or tie you to retailers. “The mobile site has poor button placement. Failing to fill a necessary field (which isn’t clearly indicated) clears all fields including potentially long messages.”

We are really sorry you found the mobile experience difficult. Can you let us know if the button issues were actually on our Patchwork site or when you reached PayPal to pay? All feedback is hugely appreciated and helps us to improve so any further information is super helpful

“Great idea that I might use myself in the future. Downsides were payment kept failing at your end. Took about a dozen attempts to go through so hope I've only actually paid once! Plus at each failure our comments to the happy couple were lost which meant re-typing every time which as you will appreciate became tedious....”
