I had a French bull dog that died from grade 5 Ivdd but before it got to that stage i was in and out of the pdsa with him arching his back and screaming in pain they always just sent him home even the other day he was in pain he was walking but in pain they sent him home again couple of hours later he was crawling with his 2 front paws his back legs had went and his bowels they still wouldn’t do anything they just wanted to put him to sleep which they did and first thing they say is can you make a donation it’s literally all they care about and now my world is empty I hate the pdsa with a passion my other little dog suffers really bad with her skin and ears they’ve never done nothing to find the problem to this either just charge me for consultations and steroids and say There’s nothing they can do unfortunately they are a disgrace not fit for purpose get your pet insured and stay away from pdsa if you love your animals

Pdsa margate. The waiting room is empty but staff say they are busy and there are no appointments available. Phone constantly ringing while staff ignore it. When you are lucky enough to see a vet they are uncaring and seem rather untrained as vets.

I took my 2 years and six months old cat for the in grown nail to be clipped. They told me it will be done under sedation and on the day of nails clipping she shouldn't eat and gave one capsule to give her before taking her there. When I went there they told me to wait it will take minimum 1 hour for her t go back home. I took her to Hendon PDSA pet hospital, I had time to wait so I waited in a coffee shop. I had a call from them I thought they will say come and get her they told me she is dead. Come and collect the body. I was shocked and heart broken. I left my healthy cat and that's what they have done. I would never advise anyone to take their pets there. The vet looked scared and was not able to answer my questions she was blaming on flea treatment and I told her that my cat is on care plan at vets for pets and been vaccinated, had been neutered and chip inserted too. She had regular flea treatment. She said she had cardiac arrest but question is that she came back with nails clipped so when did they do that after killing her?? I have lots of questions. We are so upset and I'm officially going to launch a complaint against this hospital. I have been a donor since 3 years though it was the first time I went there. I'm stopping the donations as I don't want to pay for vets who kill the pets. Please save your pets and never go there.

Not very happy due to having to go online and sign up which I did and it did not say we are not taking new patients it’s said Thankyou you shall receive and email or call back after. But never did. This is 2 weeks when I realised my rat was ill she has now passed due to the wait time. And my other is suffering with a foot infection. Now have to go privately even tho I’m signed off with health reasons and only limited money on benefits. Not happy. At all

I would give minus stars if I could I rung up on a Tuesday say my beautiful dog was not well, I said she became unsteady on her legs and wasn't eating. They said it wasn't an emergency. I rung up in the morning today Wednesday saying she was worse they said still not an emergency then then in the afternoon I rung again because coz she collapsed started fitting they said you need to get her with in 30 minutes or they won't see her I rushed to get a taxi since I have no other transport and she died before the taxi got to me. Vets4pets said to make a complaint because PDSA are turning loads of people away and being rude on the phones so I blame the PDSA for my beautiful girl dying don't go there you animal won't survive the pet hospital of death

Took my staffy, he had a sore swollen leg. I was told to leave him for a xray and the vet would phone me. The vet called and told me he had a new fracture on top off a old fracture. I told her he has never had a fracture before but she wouldn't listen, her advice was to put him to sleep as he would have no quality of life, I said no so she said we would need to ampute it, I said no. I told her to give me anti inflammatory and antibiotics, after a few days he was back to normal. Took him to another vet for a xray, he had never ever had a fracture. Somthing seriously dodgy going on with this vet. Shouldn't be allowed near animals .

What has happened to PDSA? You can not phone them. The level of care has gone. I have gone to PDSA for years ....now lost all respect and trust in them. I am being forced to take my dog to private vet...and all he needed was antibiotics. He has suffered another week because of inexperienced vet treatment...or lack of. I am truly shocked how the PDSA has fallen from grace. I will struggle...but i will never go to them again. Can not be trusted to treat your pet properly. Also the online appointment system...is chaos !! Shame on you PDSA.... started off as champions, now its all gone. We dont care about fancy new hospitals or designer looking uniforms for staff that matches the co ordinated colour scheme. We just want care and compassion for our beloved pets.

Absolutely deteriorated over the years. I have a very poorly animal- haven't had to use the pdsa for years. They now operate as gatekeepers in a similar way to the dwp in that their registration process by design is to try and keep people away by making it impossible for some to register- and it will be the very people and animals in most need that will be turned away. It is not even a case of it being annoying if possible when desperately needed. They are now asking for photo ID without alternative for their online registration (you can contact them about not having them... apparently but it is terribly hard to get hold of them with callous use of automated options for worried owners- as if it were a taxi service!) and help doesn't provide the correct advice. The very people who need help are less likely to have photo ID (which they listed as Drivers listence or passport!!! How many of the poorest have those nowadays? Buspas is another option but what if you are just poor- not disabled or you are not mobility impaired to the extent that you can get a bus pass?) or reliable internet access. If you are struggling for money internet might be the 1st thing to go. If you find yourself in poverty for a little longer than a few weeks, you will Internet access can be fleeting, unreliable if available at all and certainly not always available in the case of an emergency at home. Pdsa- what have you become? People's circumstances change but whatever you may think of the people who need your help- the animals are completely innocent no matter where you may lie on the political spectrum. Only one pet can be registered as it is (if you can get that far) so it's not like the 'chancers' are able to take advantage (if you're so concerned about that at all). This isn't charity. It's an exercise in contempt for the very people and animals who need you most. But, oh, what do you care?

Took my cat to pdsa when i noticed one of his eyes were starting to glow and the other one wasn’t yet and they said it was just cloudiness and gave medicine for it. Turns out he was going blind and wasn’t fully blind and told me he’s fully blind and nothing they can do or give him even though he could see the tiniest bit. He’s also been suffering with seizures due to maybe an underlying problem but they always say his bloods are fine and he’s fine. Clearly not fine if he’s suffering with seizures. Pay the extra and take your pet to a private vet if you are still worried before their condition is worse.

Took my mums dog to the Brighton pdsa because over night her belly had swelled, she wasn't walking properly and she was shaking, they felt up her bum and then Said she had cancer and to have her put down. My mum's dog is a westie and 13 years old. She's on the mend now but my mum was devasted at the thought of putting her down because we knew it couldn't possibly been cancer over night. They never even scanned her or did bloods just put there fingers up her bum. I know they are a charity but christ what has happened to the pdsa it's not the first time they have attempted to put one of our older animals down instead of treating them. And judging by the comments others have shared I'm starting to wonder if they just don't bother with older pets and rather save costs and put them to sleep. It's sad they are our family pets not just an animal.

Had an emergency at psda only vets open at the time & Honestly feel like they put my cat down with out checking him over. I Was told nothing on why he had fallen unwell I had him from a kitten and has always been an indoor cat. Wouldn’t trust them ever again seems as though it’s easier for them to put animals down rather than check and offer treatment. Truly devastated as I am now left in regret wishing I waiting until the next morning to take him to his regular vets.

Rang them up for a mysterious lump that is quickly growing on my 4 year old rottweiler to find they have "made getting an appointment easier" which entails going online to fill out a form, sending it them and then waiting for them to "contact you" in the next 5 working days. After 4 days we were "contacted" with an automatic generic reply basically telling us that they won't see her ("your pet") at all and to "get financial help elsewhere" the founder of this"charity" will be turning in their grave! No advice or reassurance other than go somewhere else!!! Absolutely disgusting. They have enough money to buy a brand new hospital but not enough apparently to treat any pets there. They used to see 5 pets per household and this is now down to ZERO while they sit back and watch the money role in

Took my 17 year old lhsa apso for check up because you could see his spine and ribs. Vet said after tests he had tumour on bowels and needed to be put to sleep. We wasn't convinced he had this problem, he wasnt losing weight or showing signs of bowel cancer so we got a second opinion from private Vet and she said there's nothing wrong with him, so basically the PDSA can't be bothered with older animals. We'd been using pdsa since he was a pup and this is how you get treated on older animals.

No words, terrible terrible service. First time using due to circumstances. In the end needed to go to a private Vet. I know PDSA are a charity but their whole business model is flawed.

No person centred approach to my pet at all. She just said to let him go rather than repeat antibiotics. Pointed to his flea collar and said is that a flea collar? I said yes. She said its not working. I said does he have fleas. She combed him thru and surprise no he doesn't have fleas. They can't be arsed to help and it's more beneficial for them to put ur dog to sleep even if they have quality if life. Wtf
