I had a deeply distressing experience with Peninsula, specifically with their Face2Face consultant SDO, who was appointed to handle a grievance appeal at my workplace. The process was biased and procedurally unfair from the beginning. The consultant failed to attend the first scheduled meeting, introduced new rules at the last moment, and later went ahead with the hearing while I was on approved annual leave, even though he had received my out-of-office notice. The report he produced was inaccurate, one-sided, and dismissive of clear evidence I had provided. It even included inappropriate personal judgments, such as questioning why I raised concerns when I did, instead of assessing the facts. When I contacted Peninsula directly on 9th October, I was told that because I’m not their “client”, they could not do anything (also confirmed by email on the 15th), despite the fact that their consultant’s actions have had a serious and ongoing impact on my employment, wellbeing, and mental health. I am now signed off work linked to how this grievance and appeal were handled. I have already contacted the Legal Ombudsman. There was nothing independent or fair about this process. Peninsula showed no accountability, no duty of care, and no regard for the people affected by their consultants’ decisions. I would strongly advise anyone dealing with Peninsula to proceed with caution.

Strongly recommend AVOIDING Peninsula. The entire sales process is misleading and borderline fraudulent. Working with them has been a complete waste of time, energy and money. 1. Misleading sales process. None of the people you speak with during the initial call, in-person meeting, or online consultation are actual HR or legal consultants — they are all sales representatives. We first had a telephone consultation with a sales, followed by an in-person meeting with Jeremy Reeve who is another sales, and then an online meeting with Joanna who claimed she would handle our case once we signed up. Later, we discovered she was also from the sales team, and we never heard from her again. Throughout the process they all claim to be consultants but are all sales. 2. Scare tactics and pressure to sign. The sales team exaggerated our situation and used fear-based tactics to push us into signing quickly. Without taking the time to understand our case properly, they repeatedly mentioned the risk of an employment tribunal and told us we needed to sign before Friday or face serious issues. This turned out to be completely untrue following an actual consultants advice. 3. False promises and mis-selling. We made it very clear that we needed a legal representative to engage directly with a staff member on our behalf — a service Peninsula does not provide. Despite this, the salesperson assured us, “we will draft everything and all you need to do is sign the letter.” This made it sound like Peninsula would handle communications for us, which was false. We were also told they would conduct an investigation and send results to the staff in writing — again, not true. After signing up, we learned they do not communicate directly with staff or share letters as promised. 4. Refusal to cancel immediately after realizing the issue. We signed up on Wednesday 10th September. Within ten minutes of speaking to the actual consultant and realizing the service was not what we needed, I requested a cancellation immediately on the same day, Wednesday 10th September. Instead, I was told to call back the next day, and was then passed between multiple teams — each trying to convince us to stay. Eventually, Lisa Cox was assigned to “investigate,” but despite multiple calls, emails and clear explanations of how we were mis-sold, she refused to accept our complaint. Weeks later, we received an email saying the case was closed and they would not cancel the service. We have also requested the recording of the video discussion where it was confirmed by Peninsula that they would offer a service that they do not in reality. We have received no service from Peninsula, yet they have consumed an incredible amount of our time and energy. We have also been been charged via direct debit despite no advice given as we try to get this cancelled. This has been one of the worst business experiences we’ve ever had.

Be very careful of the small print when signing up. The sneaky guys have a clause that the contract will auto renew for the same period, in our case 5 years if not cancelled 6 months in advance. This means that they have auto renewed our contact for an additional 5 years with no way to terminate, costing us over £5k for a service we don't even use. So much for their advertised reduction of risk and worry for businesses. They are a risk and worry!

We signed a contract with Peninsula in 2015 solely for HR support related to our UK retail staff. Before signing, Peninsula confirmed in writing that the contract could be paused if we no longer had staff or a retail presence in the UK—this was a key condition, without which we would never have accepted a long-term commitment. Now, nearly 10 years later, Peninsula is refusing to honour that agreement, introducing new conditions that were never part of the original deal. They also claim to have renewed our contract by sending a notification to a personal email address (not used for business and not listed in the contract), and have failed to provide proof of that communication despite multiple requests. We feel misled, and the way Peninsula is handling this matter is deeply disappointing. We urge others to get everything in writing, and to be extremely cautious before entering into long-term agreements.

In my ten years of trading, this is without a doubt the worst company I have ever dealt with. First and foremost, they refuse to take any accountability or responsibility to protect their own interests, even if it means screwing over paying customers like myself. I had a case that required me to pay for dismissal services. The supposed “expert” who consulted with me got all the dates and times wrong in the final outcome, drastically altering the course of the case. This resulted in the defendant getting away with dismissal. To make matters worse, one of the crucial bases for this outcome was the assertion that one of the witnesses was my wife's best friend, which was a complete fabrication with no evidence to support it. Shockingly, this was one of the main reasons cited for the outcome. From my experience, it seems that Peninsula wanted to take the easy way out to avoid pursuing any legal routes against the defendant for gross misconduct, even though all evidence pointed to their guilt. There were countless mistakes. They even redid the final outcome letter after realizing that all the dates and times of the incidents were incorrect. Yet, this still did not change the outcome, which makes no sense at all. Their initial excuse for the outcome was based on the notion that certain actions couldn’t be taken due to prior engagements. However, if the correct dates had been used, he would have been found guilty based on the actual evidence. This massive mistake ultimately cost me £250,000. Additionally, the contract they offered makes it virtually impossible to cancel. It is a five-year agreement that renewed in December 2023. I provided my six months' notice to cancel based on this significant error, and to this day, I am still receiving invoices. Peninsula has not canceled my contract and seems to expect me to buy my way out of the new five-year agreement, despite my clear legal cancellation in accordance with the terms and conditions six months prior to renewal. I urge anyone considering their services to think twice. My experience has been nothing short of a nightmare.

Total scam! Stay away! They don't sell HR services as much as they sell a non sense contract that is impossible to get out of. My Contract auto renewed during the 6 months notice i gave them to cancel it. Had to cancel my CC to get rid of them. Do not waste your time and money on these con artists. They have business ethics. Do not believe positive reviews, they offer gift cards to customers who leave these reviews.

Beware of using this company. Shocking ethics. Tricked me into autorenewal which I asked not to have and I'm being billed for another year. Terrible deception. Definitely get legal advice before using this company.

Don't sign up to this not accepted by bigger companies tried to cancel they won't, just keep charging for a service you don't use, don't waste your money there are better services to work with for health and safety that dont crash you out and have to start all over again and then told they don't accept them
