“The backbone was advertised for coke with 3 month Xbox game pass evict would be emailed after purchase. We never received the game pass so we are not happy with the false advertisement.”

“It’s a really cool in concept.., I wanted it to be really cool… but it just looses connection all of the time. I’ll be playing a game and then “poof” the controller stops responding. Idk if it’s apple or it is the controller but it’s a real pain. When it works, it’s great.”

“Cool concept but the Xbox needs to be turned out to play any game that is connected or downloaded to your Xbox. Would be cool to not have to do this. Xbox ultimate pass is a cool concept but games are limited and must have very strong Wi-Fi to play the game.”

“I’m not as happy as I thought I would be. I do like the controller, how it feels, and responds. I love the idea of remote play with my Xbox one, however when I’ve played it away from home, about 30 miles, the picture quality isn’t that great, at least for the game I was playing. Game pass is cool however I haven’t fully taken advantage of it because I either need to download the game to my Xbox or iPhone and that takes up space I don’t necessarily want to give up. I thought I’d be able to just stream play and I haven’t figured that out yet. So I give it a 3 out of 5.”

“Product itself is great, I love it. Works perfect and makes playing game pass on break at work or in bed a dream. But the shipping was an awful experience. Once placing the order I waited almost two weeks for just the shipping confirmation. Between multiple emails over two weeks all I was told is “your item will ship this week” two different time over two weeks. Horrible customer service, but the product is nice”

“I waited months researching the Backbone One before making my decision to buy. Their website said units ship within 3 business days but it took 10 days for mine to even get a tracking slip created. I had contacted to ask about the delay and got a canned/automated response. A few days later, I asked for expedited shipping and I would pay for it. The response was the same generic automated message as my first email, a week prior. The device works great. The communication from the company needs significant improvement.”

“The controller is great. I'm enjoying using it on COD mobile. But the Xbox part leaves a lot to be desired. You have to work it through a web browser so the image isn't great and it's really hard to navigate. I swear I had to sign into a Microsoft account 7 times before getting anywhere. The design is great though and I love how seamlessly it connects to my iphone.”

“Backbone is great. It legit makes my phone feel like a portable gaming console. It's a really impressive piece of hardware. It's unfortunate that it doesn't work with phone cases, but the experience playing with Backbone is so good that I'm fine with taking my case off. The *one* problem I have is the Backbone+ subscription. Part of the reason I was drawn to Backbone was because it smoothly integrated hardware (the Backbone controller) and software (the Backbone app) for a unified mobile gaming experience. It all comes together really nicely – honestly, I can't praise it enough. Given that, I'm sure it's obvious why I might be upset that the software side of that experience is now locked behind a $50/year subscription. I don't like the fact that I'll have to pay half the price of what is already an expensive controller on an annual basis just to take advantage of all the features of the hardware I paid for. That the capture button and Backbone button will become entirely useless without a subscription is especially upsetting. On top of all that, I'm really not sure what's being offered in the subscription that justifies a $50/year price tag – that's nearly the annual cost of PlayStation Plus, and I get a lot more value out of that subscription than I will out of Backbone+. I'd be less upset if it was $20 or $30/year (though I still don't think the *entire app* should be locked behind a subscription of any kind). Anyway, that's my little rant about Backbone+. Backbone is fantastic outside of that, and it'd be a five-star product if Backbone+ either a) was made significantly cheaper or b) paywalled significantly less functionality. I can't stress this last part enough: the current state of Backbone+ is the ONLY reason why I have not yet ruled out returning my Backbone for a refund.”

“It’s a Christmas gift so I haven’t tried it yet. I am still wait on the free adapter that hasn’t arrived yet . If it doesn’t arrive in time I will return the backbone. It should of shipped with the product not a good idea to send separately, especially being that in order to use with the 13 it’s need phone technology is advancing fast . Adapter should Automatically be included because we’re gonna need it eventually”
