“They are trying to charge an astronomical amount to repair a toilet. Fair that they have to charge an emergency charge for a call out, but this is outrageous. Nearly £530 to replace a small toilet part. Do not use these people.”
“Had a leak from a damaged pipe feeding the radiator on the left hand side of the radiator. Engineer came to repair the leak, but in doing so the valve of the radiator started leaking. During the process the radiator was not sealed at the top and dirty water went over a white wall. They sent a second “engineer” the following day to fix the leak. Upon arrival he announced that he was not a plumber or a heating engineer but a bathroom fitter and that he wasn’t sure what he was doing - confidence levels plummeted. He was about to take the radiator valves off on both sides without depressurising the system or turning the boiler off - I had to do both of these things. He then took the valves off the left side and put plumbing paste on them and retightened them. He also tightened the right hand side as apparently. He said to keep an eye on it as he wasn’t sure it would work. I had to repressurise the boiler. After he left both sides of the radiator were now leaking. I informed Rightio and made it clear I had lost confidence in the service and asked for a refund. Nearly 2 months later, after countless back and forth emails, I have not received a refund. I was also told by customer services that they would fix both sides without charging me anymore. The engineer turned up and told me that I was going to be charged for a second time to fix the problem one of their engineers had caused. Impossible to speak to a member of management to rectify the situation. I paid nearly £200 to for a service and not only is the initial problem not fixed, there is now more problems! Worst experience of dealing with a company! Avoid at all costs!”
“Arrived a few minutes late, which allowing for traffic was understandable.engineer was very polite and a clean and tidy worker.Would have no problems in using them again.”
“Do not use these people. Awful service. My mistake did not check reviews before booking. Cancelled on me 10 minutes before they were meant to come. Terrible service.”
“Awful. Called out. £206 charge. 5 minutes. Cant fix that today. Left. Phoned to complain, was informed the call out charge of £206 was a diagnosis charge….. he did nothing except say he couldn’t fix it today and left. Stay away. Awful.”
“Called on 10th Feb to arrange replacing 5 radiators. I was given a ref. number and told they would contact me to arrange visit. BUT they wanted bank details up front, more interested in getting me to agree service contract. I've heard nothing since and wouldn't use them now if they did. Be VERY cautious is considering using this comp. I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy.”
“My dad rang to ask about a leaking outside tap. They tried to take £150 +vat over the phone before they even set foot on the property. Total scammers. Avoid.”
“Booked around 9.00 and promised plumber within 2 hours after many call turned up at 17.00 saying it was too late to get any parts . did quick diagnosis fixed nothing and promised a quote for work which never arrived. £200 for nothing !!Repair 7190136 . I complained and never had a reply to emails.”
“Rang for simple capping off of radiator( we have already removed the radiator itself , this was literally just to cap off the pipe . This was for my elderly parent , quoted hourly rate of £168 plus VAT ... that's £200 an hour not including parts ! No guarantee it could be sorted in the hour ...but advised us the plumber won't charge us for time buying any parts, as if that's usual practice! Hideously overpriced and talking up simple plumbing work , concerned that elderly customers may be taken advantage of .”
“Do not use this company. Scammers
This company took advantage of my elderly parents who are both vulnerable adults due to health conditions. The engineer was called to fix a leak to a pipe under the sink. Billed for 2 hours work £314.00. Materials £147.00. VAT £157.00 not mentioned when discussing original price. Time spent fixing the leak was 20 mins max. 1 Hour obtaining parts. Materials small piece of pipe and connectors. Called to complain, cut off twice. This is rogue trader activity and will be reported to trading standards. My poor parents who are both in their late seventies have been conned out of £554.00. DO NOT USE.”
“Appalling company ripped me off £340 for 1 hours work , plumbers total incompetence left me with no heating which I managed to fix by simply bleeding the system! Customer service non existent no contact whatsoever! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES”
“Disgusting company. Ripped my recently widowed mum off and lied and didn't fix the problem, but charged cash and took bank details. Overcharged as well. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY”
“Gas boiler service. Agent arrived in unmarked van on time and serviced boiler. Cost £118.80. I went on holiday and on return found hot water was lukewarm. Called Rightio who sent same person who said 'I have done nothing to it' and departed.. They then billed my debit card for a further £218.40 and still no hot water. Total bill £337.20.
Do not used this company under any circumstances”
“Be aware electrician came from Chorley to Wirral, Looked at my burnt shower fuse box took some photos said no longer make them boxes would need new consumer box, didn’t even isolate burnt box, said he would get Rightio to send estimate, asked him rough estimate, I said WOW, Rightio charged my card £201-60 for job completed, my WOW came back as I couldn’t afford to pay.
As they didn’t even isolate the problem I managed to contact a brilliant company they came isolated at no charge, came back day later and did job, so considering I had no money I’ve paid Rightio and the brilliant company whose response was absolutely brilliant.
Roy (pensioner)”
“I called Rightio to fit a light
There was a part missing. Lad was rude and said be back next week
Was charged £153 for a 10 minute visit doing nothing. This was not confirmed by the engineer or lady on phone.
Got light fitted by friend then next day
Trading standards needs to stop this happening. Shocking”
“Although Steve could not fix our gas fire due to the parts coting £400plus labor. He was very helpful and informative.I was perplexed and bit worried about giving my bank details but after a phone call was assured all was okay”
“Scam! They sent an engineer, charged me 262 pounds, he couldn’t even fix the error code shown on the boiler, he phoned the boiler company to understand the issue, made sure to waste some more time so he could get his hourly pay, then left saying “a part needs to be changed”. They promised me that they’ll call the next day and send the engineer again (and that I will need to pay both for the parts and the engineer). No one called or came. I called to see what was going on and they said the parts will come 5 days later 🤣
Don’t waste your money… Terrible customer service, extremely expensive and I’m almost certain it’s scam.”
“The plumber refused to go back to my house to turn the water back on he had turned off
He demanded I pay £188+ to return
His estimate to fix my shower control switch was £560 for 2 hours work
I got a real plumber out today who turned the water back on
Fixed my shower
And also cleared a sink blockage
He was in my home for about 25 minutes
And charged me £102 for the whole work
Stear clear of rightio they are a bunch of cowboys, liars and bullies”
“Prices extortionate, no customer service, exploiting older people. Promised discount not given. Difficult to communicate with, too many scripted conversations with different departments who clearly don’t talk to each other, had to recall plumber as leak not fixed properly. Awful experience”
