“I replaced my Orbit b-hyve after it died of “NoAC” error, expecting to have a better system. The app seems to be designed by someone who never had to program an irrigation schedule. It disconnects frequently and you have to wait for at least a minute before trying to connect again. There is no test feature to test each zone. Figuring out different times and schedules for each zone seems to be impossible. I am going to return the ARC8 unit to Home Depot.”
“This company is unbelievable. I can get no one on the phone. I can't set the sprinkler because it waters all night, rain or shine. I tried going online to view the demonstration, nothing they explained appears on the screen. I have had sprinklers before and all I had to do was set the time of day, number of minutes and frequency. This stupid company expects you to do everyday individually and I cannot even read what's on the screen. I can only operate this system manually so when I go on vacation, I have to choose between no water or water all day. I might add the cost of water is very expensive in my area. I will never ever purchase anything from this company again. STUPID!!!!”
“Rainbird put the order on hold over the weekend, pending "verification" even though they withdrew the funds already. Sounds like phishing. asking for information they already had.”
“Trying to program the controller is like trying to decipher the WW2 German Enigma machine. I suspect the goal is to prevent the great "unwashed" from operating and programming the controller so that a dealer has to be summond. I even tried the video and it made virtually no sense. I know its meaningless to Rain Bird but if I ever need a new controller you can be assured it wont be a Rain Bird.”
“If I could give zero I would given it. Beware of this company at any cost. Their products might be good but their service sucks. Ordered rainbird system through their online store and order confirmation said it will be delivered in two business days. It’s been more than 7 business days and constant follow ups with their reps is pain. it’s difficult to deal with rude customer service executives who don’t even listen to anyone. Called FedEx and they say they don’t any information and asks me talk to supplier. I don’t have any options but to file for chargebacks.”
“Ordering from the Rain Bird store has been a nightmare. Received notice from my credit card company that the order had been paid for, then received multiple emails from Rain Bird saying my order was placed in "Review Status" each time I called I was assured that order would be shipped. Huge mistake not ordering from Amazon.”
“I purchased sprinkler head nozzles and I have no problem with the product. However, I do have a big problem with shipping such a small item in a large cardboard box resulting in outrageous shipping fees. The product could easily fit in a very small envelope and ship USPS.”
“Used Rain Bird website to send a comment to their Customer Service folks. URL not found, so it was unable to send. I tried to use their "Chat" function. Started a text exchange with Customer Service, and then the representative just disappeared; I got no further responses after s/he asked several questions about my defective product. This is not a good indicator of a decent company. I'll be buying irrigation products elsewhere.”
“No customer service help just ads. Can't get to talk to a person again just a series of ads wanting to sell you different products. How about supporting your products! This is the worst experience of customer help I've ever had. Never buy it again. Service makes or breaks a product. Done.”
“Purchased the Rain Bird training for online certification. After many emails with the company, I was unable to view the modules. I tried at home and in the office. I tried on an iPad, laptop, phone, and desktop. When I asked for a refund, the company refused. I am unable to view the content, therefore I am unable to get certified. Very disappointed with the company.”
“The Rain Bird online store represents that orders before 9 a.m. are shipped same day. NOT. Three days later I received an email informing me that the order was suspended based upon a Rain Bird security concern and I must telephone Rain Bird. I did, and reconfirmed that the billing address and shipping address are the same. Five days after the order was placed, Rain Bird advised that the product was submitted to FedEx, whose tracking link advises that the link has been deleted.”
“Unbelievable. I'm normally a very patient person but in this day and age of respectable customer service, this company is living in the dark ages. Called multiple times not able to get through and having to leave a callback # only to get a callback saying "Due to technical difficulties please call us back" and then they hang up before you can get a word in??? And the one time i actually got through to a live person, they just quickly repeated the same message and hung up immediately! And this is supposed to be a multi-national company. LOL. Give me a break and spend some money on proper customer service. Products are decent but a sprinkler head housing inexplicably cracked so just looking to do a simple warranty claim. I'd give this company zero stars if I could.”

“Ordered a product online, item received and unfortunately it was the wrong product. I see on the reciept that the company has a 30 day return policy, and request a return goods authorization. They say to go to fedex and mail it back to them. The product was around $4's and it was going to cost me $12's to ship it back just to get a $4 return. I called customer service and they say I was $&^% out of luck if I couldn't get it back to them for a refund. They have poor customer service and not customer oriented refunds policies that I will never do business with them again!”
“No confirmation of your order. After almost a week I sent an email to cancel the order if they really had the order. I get an answer at that point saying it was to late because it was ready to ship. Another week goes by and still no product. Never order online from this company.”
“Their online store is terrible. Does not offer you a receipt, or order summary when order submitted. You are supposed to receive an email receipt, but I never got one. I'm told I did not get an email receipt because some of the product I ordered had to be back order, but that is no excuse for not sending a receipt. Also, I would have never order the product, if the website had told be the product would have to be back ordered. Received some of the product, but no receipt came with shipped product. They sent a tiny product that could have been sent in a small padded envelope in a large box. This amateurish way of conducting business has turned me off the brand.”
“The products are great...but the customer service and shipping is horrible if you try to order anything from the online store. I placed an order on May 27th, and I've been waiting nearly a month for the $108 worth of products to arrive. I received a few things within a two weeks, but since then...nothing. Worse, you will receive zero communication as to why your order is taking so long.
If you're lucky enough to live near a big box store or other retailer that sells Rain Bird products, you can complete your system just fine as long as the store carries a large selection. They'll likely carry the basics, at least. For me, I'm finding that my local big box home improvement stores don't carry everything I want and need, which is why I ordered from Rain Bird's online store in the first place...
So, I'm left with choosing a different brand for my irrigation system or finding some other 3rd party that carriers the products and has better customer service. It is incredibly frustrating and disappointing.”
“I have tried to order 3 different times from the website. Each time there is a problem and I have to order somewhere else. This time I made sure items are in stock, after a week of no info called and ... items are out of stock and will take 2 weeks. They really do have bad customer service.”
“I've been using Rain Bird product personally, and professionally, for at least 30 years. Now that I'm retired I have time to put a little extra effort into my personal landscape. With all the COVID-19 BS I decided to order parts online from Rain Bird. First order of 5 part numbers came in two boxes two weeks after the order was placed. One of the 5 items is terminally backordered. The second order was 4 part numbers. Two boxes with 3 of the part numbers came quickly. I'm still waiting on the third box. From the second order one of the items was wrong (tees instead of ells). Rain Bird wants me to send the wrong item back, on my dime, then reorder the correct item and pay shipping again. Nope. I will try and source local. Rain Bird needs to get its act together.”
