Overall: I love the villa and its location. I enjoyed spending the day touring Rome then coming back to our villa in the country. Enjoyed Most: The view and the location. Enjoyed Least: We could have used better directions. Surrounding Area: The beautiful setting and view Nearby Events or Locales: Magliano Sabina Tips or Restaurants: toilet paper, spices Directions: I used a GPS. Check In Out: Daniella is an awesome manager.

Overall: We had a wonderful vacation at Casa Taormina. The property was exceptional. Enjoyed Most: The accommodations and view were spectacular. Dining with family and friends on the patio was unforgettable. Surrounding Area: We visited Savoca and St.Teresa di Riva and found them to be charming. As you know, Savoca is where "Godfather I" was filmed.

Overall: Great! The owner lives on the property and was very friendly and helpful. She gave us lots of "local" tips and went out of her way to make our stay a dream vacation. Enjoyed Most: It was located on the quieter end of the island above Kamari beach, so it was really nice for those of us who wanted to be out of the mainstream. The villa was beautiful and well-equipped, clean and charming. It had a great territorial view of the Kamari area and sea, as well as up the hillside towards Pyrgos. Enjoyed Least: The one bedroom has stairs, so just be aware if you travel with someone with mobility issues. Surrounding Area: Kamari beach was very close, as was Pyrgos. A winery and brewery were within walking distance. The island was easily accessible by car, so we were able to see the entire island at our leisure. For those who enjoy hiking, there were several paths from the villa either up hill or down to the beach area. Nearby Events or Locales: The little town below was just a small residential area, but had some beautiful walking paths up the hill with great views. Tips or Restaurants: Rent a car and see the island--it's fantastic and you can travel in and around the cruise ship groups!! We took a catamaran trip off-island and it was well worth the extra expense. Directions: The owner, Lianne, met us at the airport and drove us back to the villa. It was perfect and greatly appreciated. The villa is just 5 minutes from the airport. Check In Out: Lianne was a great hostess and was incredibly helpful without being intrusive. She made the visit that much better by offering insights on places to eat, visit, tips on dealing with the locals, etc.

Overall: We had a wonderful stay. The villa was just what we were looking for. The property manager was very good and gave us great information about what to see and where to eat. Enjoyed Most: The view. The pool. Just being able to relax and enjoy ourselves. There were a lot of daytime excursions, two of which were Siena and Firenze, so the location is wonderful. The town Tavarnelle Val di Pesa has a large supermarket and we were able to get Internet at the library. Enjoyed Least: There was no internet access. The living room was really not functional for 4 people to gather in. We spent our time mostly in the kitchen or outside. There was no radio either, so with no internet and no radio, we had no music. That would have been great to have. Surrounding Area: It was the scenery. Grapes were being harvested and everyone was busy, yet we were still able to go for wine tastings all around the area. Nearby Events or Locales: The nearest small town was Noce. This is a very small town with really no stores, but Tavarnelle was only 12 mile away, so we were able to go to great restaurants, get good food supplies, and shop. Tips or Restaurants: We went to some excellent restaurants. The villa is not luxurious, but it was exactly what we were looking for and it was affordable. Everything was there, so we didn't need to buy anything. Directions: We did have a GPS, which was very helpful. The directions given were also very good. It is quite easy when you are coming from Rome. We were coming from Rimini, so we had to cross mountains on a very winding road. We did not have a cell phone to call the property manager, so had to go into town to find a phone. She met us at the store and drove with us back to the property.

Overall: It was great. We did not have a car, but were a 10-minute walk from the bus station. Enjoyed Most: We enjoyed the view from the roof top and being in a medieval walled city. Enjoyed Least: The steps, but we were aware of them beforehand, so there were no surprises. Surrounding Area: The views were awesome and we also enjoyed the cooking classes and a driving tour of the area. Nearby Events or Locales: We were within a walled city. Directions: We didn't have directions to the property--but were picked up at the bus station by the owners--excellent service. Check In Out: Quick and easy.

Overall: We had a great experience. The owner, Antonella, was exceptionally helpful in so many ways. The property is lovely, and a great deal of thought has been given to little touches that enhance the guest experience. Enjoyed Most: Beautiful location, very comfortable and ample indoor facilities, good outdoor facilities. Surrounding Area: So many beautiful small hill towns to visit. Nearby Events or Locales: The nearest small town is Campiglia D'Orcia. Not in walking distance. Tips or Restaurants: Bear in mind that Internet service is at extra cost and you will need the owner's help to set it up. Directions: Used the GPS coordinates. Called the owner for assistance. She met us and led us to the villa.

Overall: Great property. Enjoyed Most: The views and the swimming pool. Enjoyed Least: Steep walk to and from the beach with children. WiFi not available. Tips or Restaurants: Beachfront restaurants are better and more reasonable than expected. Directions: Used GPS Check In Out: Check-in was at the local representative's office. We would have appreciated having someone meet us at the property and show us around.

Overall: Lovely. The villa was immaculately kept. Our host was always available to help. The grounds were larger than expected and the pool was delightful. Enjoyed Most: The views were beautiful. The kitchen was far better equipped than we could have ever hoped. Enjoyed Least: There was quite a bit of barking dogs and roosters crowing. Surrounding Area: The town of Monte Carlo was charming but the best thing was how centrally located the property was. We were able to enjoy Pisa, Florence, Lucca, Cinque Terre, and San Gimignano all in a day's trip. Nearby Events or Locales: There did not seem to be any town within walking but that was not a problem as we had a car. I think a car would be necessary for this property. Tips or Restaurants: The facility was so well-equipped that we needed to bring very little. I would recommend mosquito repellent as we did get quite some bites. Pack clothes that will dry quickly on the line as there is no drier. Directions: We did not have a GPS that worked so we relied on the written directions, which were excellent Check In Out: Our hosts were at the property waiting for us with a bottle of wine and delicious pastry. We couldn't ask for more.

Overall: Staying at Villa Venere made this once-in-a-lifetime trip the best vacation we ever took together as a family. We were celebrating our 40th Wedding Anniversary with our children and grandson, and couldn't have celebrated it better! Enjoyed Most: The layout of the rooms allowed each family unit a good amount of privacy. The beauty of the property itself and it's view are unparalleled. Enjoyed Least: The bedrooms could have been a bit larger, but they were certainly adequate. Surrounding Area: The beauty and proximity of many sites to see, including Mt. Vesuvius, Pompeii, Naples, Positano, and Capri. Nearby Events or Locales: Positano...and we were right there. Walking in Positano can present a welcomed challenge, but so worth the effort. Tips or Restaurants: Have a great time. RentVillas has taken care of everything needed to have a stress-free vacation. As far as restaurants go, there were none that weren't excellent. Directions: The directions provided by RentVillas were enough to get us there, without getting lost.

Overall: Very good. Enjoyed Most: It is a beautiful house with a great kitchen for preparing meals. We have rented a number of houses before and this had the best stocked kitchen (dishes, cutlery, pots and pans) of any of them. Enjoyed Least: The gate to the property broke at one point and our rental car got stuck trying to enter the driveway. We were not able to access CNN. Bats flew into two of the bedrooms at night when the windows were open. Cars beep when driving on the very narrow roads near the property. Surrounding Area: Lucca is a great town--not too overrun with tourists but with lots of good shops/restaurants/piazzas. Nearby Events or Locales: San Martino in Freddana. Not within walking distance, partly because the roads are narrow. It's probably also too far for most people and the return walk would be all uphill. Tips or Restaurants: Everyone should be reminded that all villas come without any food, extra toilet paper, etc. Directions: Can't use the GPS there--wouldn't work. Written directions were good. Check In Out: Appliances should have written directions on them. It is impossible to remember the very brief description given at check in. The on site person was responsive but spoke no English so we basically had to guess what to do.

Overall: Wonderful apartment - tasteful, comfortable, nice and dark in the AM so we could catch up on sleep! Hassan was friendly and patient in explaining everything in the beginning. Good showers and plumbing, for Italy! Always appreciated! Enjoyed Most: The neighborhood was amazing. Great, great location. We could walk everywhere, yet got that neighborhood feel, and loved the less expensive restaurants in Trastevere. Enjoyed Least: The pull-out couch was a bit uncomfortable, but aren't they all? No real complaints! Surrounding Area: Like I previously mentioned - everything was walkable from the apartment, and we loved, loved the neighborhood. Tips or Restaurants: Location was a bit obscure - a map would have been helpful to find the street for the taxi driver. We kept getting lost! Great restaurant find - right over the bridge to the right of the hospital (right of Isola Tiberina) is Sora Lella, at Via Ponte 4 Capi, 16, 39 06686.16.01. Great old family recipes - loved the Osso Buco and homemade desserts. Check In Out: Hassan was so friendly and helpful.

Overall: There were 20 of us including children (down to the age of six). Our stay could not have been more delightful with wonderful meals prepared every evening for us. Enjoyed Most: Spacious, beautifully furnished, large bedrooms all with bath, elevator to two upper floors, fabulous swimming pool and games for the kids to play. Enjoyed Least: Honestly, there was nothing we did not like. Surrounding Area: Day trips to Lucca, Pisa, and Florence as well as visiting and hiking in the Apuane Alps (the Garfagnana) which are stunningly beautiful Nearby Events or Locales: Segromigno al Monte just a few blocks away. Tips or Restaurants: We really did not need to bring anything as a market was nearby. Directions: Did not use GPS though some of the others in our group did. Check In Out: Could not have been easier.

Overall: We had a great time and the property was well-suited for our group of nine. Enjoyed Most: We particularly enjoyed being able to cook using the outdoor wood fire grill and shopping locally for our ingredients. Enjoyed Least: PARKING!!!Parking is available for only two cars but it is very difficult to get in and out of the parking area. Although the amount of steps required for entrance/exit did not bother our group, there were well over 50 steps involved and it could be a problem for elderly or infirmed visitors. The pool is only suitable for children. Surrounding Area: All it had to offer. Very convenient to visit Sorrento and the drive along the Amalfi Coast was quite scenic and pleasant. Nearby Events or Locales: S. Agata--it's a great little town, friendly people, good restaurants, decent market, pharmacy helpful (we had a need for cold meds). Just go directly to one of the two lots offered and walk around the town. Tips or Restaurants: MiMi's Roasterrie was wonderful. Just don't sit against the wall which had the oven on the other side! Don Pedro's was walking distance and quite convenient for an arrival night dinner as you will not have had an opportunity to shop for the week. The kitchen was well equipped, but lacked sharp knives. Directions: Used GPS. The property entrance (which is through a locked gate in front of the parking area covered with ivy) had no clearly visible house number. When we called the property agent, he was quite timely in showing up to let us into the house. Check In Out: The check-in process was fine, however, it was accompanied by a third party who was interested in selling services such as catering and excursions which added pressure, in our opinion.

Overall: We spent 2 very nice weeks there. The house is very nice and well taken care of; the care taker is very responsive and helpful. We would definitely recommend it. Enjoyed Most: The pool and the exterior dining area with pizza oven and grill. Enjoyed Least: The last stretch of road to get there is narrow, winding, and unpaved. Surrounding Area: Quiet, views, easy 1-hr drive to most places of interest. Nearby Events or Locales: Bucine is a 15-minute drive; there is a grocery store there. In Ambra there are smaller food stores but it is not walking distance, either. Tips or Restaurants: The restaurant Villa Leccarda just down the road at the junction of the main road is great and opens late. Bring bug spray or some type of repellent and ask Naleen (the care taker) to cook for you--he is a great chef.

Overall: Very good. Enjoyed Most: Relative isolation, and staff was very helpful, friendly, and responsive to requests. Also, gave good suggestions on places to go and eat. Surrounding Area: View and farmer stand down the street and nearby beaches. Nearby Events or Locales: Akrotiri was walking distance for serious walkers. Tips or Restaurants: Good restaurants in Fira. Dolphin is short distance with great seafood. Directions: Had driver meet us.

Overall: Exceeded expectations and resulted in a magical experience overall. Enjoyed Most: The seclusion of this property was our favorite part. Literally tucked away among olive trees and vineyards at the end of a dirt road. However, it's on the side of a hill so you still have a great view and don't feel confined. Didn't see anyone during our entire visit except, of course, the villa owner who was wonderfully nice. Enjoyed Least: Kitchen was smaller than I would have liked, but was entirely functional. Surrounding Area: The final 2 - 3 km of roads (paved and dirt) that lead up to the villa feel like you are being transported to another time. Nearby Events or Locales: Nothing within walking distance, but that's a bonus in my view. Both Cortona and Camucia are within 6 km and serve very different purposes. Camucia has well stocked grocery stores, pharmacy, etc. Cortona is an ancient walled city with everything you go to Tuscany for - food, sites, etc. Tips or Restaurants: Rental car is a must-have. While I'm sure there are taxis, it's 6km (actual road miles) to Cortona part of which is on tiny roads and behind the villa's private gate. Having to rely on taxis would be very hard. There are at least 2 nice, large grocery stores in Camucia which is only a few kilometers away. But, they close at 1:00 on Sundays. The other days of the week it looked like they were open until 8:00pm. Best restaurant finds were in CortonaOsteria del Teatro - gorgeous little terrace and incredible food.La Loggetta - overlooks main piazza and also fabulous food.

Overall: The location was outstanding. We felt very safe. Just 2 blocks from the Vatican and a fantastic pizza and gelato place just across the street. Also very close to the metro which will take you anywhere in the city. Enjoyed Most: One of the most fun things we did each day is to walk to the market just 2 blocks away and get fresh fruits and vegetables. The Italians were so friendly and helpful and even though none of us could speak each other's language, we communicated and enjoyed such fresh produce. You can even purchase wine if you bring your own container for 1.67 euros per liter! Enjoyed Least: No air conditioning but we were provided with 2 fans which made sleeping easy with the windows opened.

Overall: Overall, we had a fabulous experience. The house and property were even more beautiful and spacious than advertised. The home was well equipped with linens, etc. We couldn't have asked for a nicer experience. Enjoyed Most: The lovely terraced grounds and gorgeous views. Enjoyed Least: Many of the bedroom windows did not have screens and had to be kept closed at night. Otherwise, no complaints. Surrounding Area: The surrounding area was beautiful. Lovely views, picturesque chateaux everywhere we turned, lots of interesting things to do nearby but very few tourists, and an abundant supply of great food and wine! Nearby Events or Locales: The nearest small town, Plazac, was really just a tiny village. It was about 5 minutes (driving) from the house. One could walk, but we did not as there were no sidewalks and we had a couple of small children along on the trip. Directions: We used the GPS coordinates provided to map out our journey. The last bit was tricky; it would have been helpful to have a few landmarks to help guide us. We found the right road through the process of elimination.

Overall: We had a wonderful, restful week in Positano. The villa was amazing and Positano was beautiful. It was easy to do day trips to Capri, Pompeii, Sorrento and further along the Amalfi Coast. A great trip! Enjoyed Most: The view was spectacular. The property was very well-maintained and a maid came in daily. The pool was a blessing since it was close to 100 degrees F everyday. Enjoyed Least: The private beach was nice but the water had a lot of seaweed and there were jelly fish. My son got stung once so we stuck to the pool. Surrounding Area: Great little shops and good restaurants. Nearby Events or Locales: The center of Positano was close by but not really within walking distance. The villa sits at the top of the hill and the road winds back and forth to the bottom (which is where most of the shops are) so it is a long walk. Taxis are readily available but cost 20 Euros each way. Tips or Restaurants: The villa was stocked with toilet paper, shampoo, soaps, etc. When you arrive, you have to take the funiculare (elevator) down to the villa and then there are about 30 stairs to the villa so pack light! A great restaurant was Ristorante Il Ritrovo, but you have to take a taxi up the hill. Worth it, though. Directions: We had a car service from the train station so no trouble finding it. Check In Out: The key holder was excellent. He was very accessible and went over everything with us.

Overall: This was our first experience renting a villa. It could not have been any better. The villa met all our needs and exceeded our expectations. Enjoyed Most: With the temperatures above the normal the pool became one of the best features of the property. Enjoyed Least: It was not as close to cities in the area but was ok for driving to them. Surrounding Area: The acessibility to the Tuscan Hill Top towns. Tips or Restaurants: Booklight for reading as lighting very dim in most bedrooms.Il Monte on SR68 about KM 57 marker next to sunflower fields was able to seat and feed 12 of us on short notice without reservations.Take train from Ceraldo to Florence.
