Overall: Wonderful!!!!! The manager gave us so much personal attention that it was better than having a concierge. The villa was awesome. and we really enjoyed being off the beaten path. Enjoyed Most: We enjoyed being in a secluded area. The courtyard was beautiful. and we felt that we were living like locals. Enjoyed Least: Nothing Surrounding Area: Quiet Nearby Events or Locales: Meglachori Tips or Restaurants: You do not need to bring anything extra - there were hairdryers, soap, shampoo, iron, toilet paper. Check In Out: The manager picked us up with a rental car and brought us back to the airport at 5am.

Overall: Wonderful. Enjoyed Most: View and accommodations. Enjoyed Least: Difficulty of access to and lack of dependable public transportation to the property. Surrounding Area: Scenery, easy access to town, the people. Nearby Events or Locales: Barberino Val d'Elsa was within easy walking distance. Tips or Restaurants: Household items (toilet paper, dish soap etc) are only initially provided. Directions: We did use a GPS and had no difficulty finding it. Check In Out: The manager was very accommodating.

Overall: We absolutely loved it. Everything about our experience in this location was excellent. Enjoyed Most: The fact that we just went out our door and walked about 20 yards onto one of the main streets of San Gimignano. There were benches outside our window to the street and it was a real meeting place for the locals. My only regret was that we didn't understand Italian because it seemed that there were great conversations going on. Enjoyed Least: There was nothing we didn't like about this property. The kitchen area wasn't very big but we did not intend to cook meals there anyway. The coffee and pastry shops were literaly steps away from our door. Surrounding Area: We spent one whole day scouting out San Gimignano, drove to Pisa and spent a day there, drove to the Chianti region for a day and then also to Siena for a day. The scenery everywhere is really beautiful. Enjoyed everything about the area. Nearby Events or Locales: Poggibonsi is a 15-minute drive. Tips or Restaurants: I had taken a few things like sponges, baggies, and a sharp knife but honestly didn't need any of it. I guess if you were planning to cook these items might have come in handy but the restaurants were all so close, reasonably priced with excellent food. We didn't have a bad meal. Directions: We had a GPS and that was very helpful.

Overall: It was the most wonderful place. So very near Firenze and yet in the quiet and lovely countryside. The administrator was very helpful and charming. We enjoy every moment. Enjoyed Most: The peaceful atmosphere, the view, the kindness of the manager. The perfect location. Surrounding Area: The wonderful view since the property is at the top of a hill and you can see the surrounding countryside. One night we could see a couple of deer crossing the property. Nearby Events or Locales: Yes, the nearest small town is Grassina, which is walking distance. Tips or Restaurants: The property is so well located that you can dine in Florence and be at your villa in 7 minutes drive. We rented a car so it was very easy to come and go everywhere. Directions: We certainly used a GPS. I cannot think of anything more useful. We highly recommend it. Check In Out: Everything went very smoothly, much easier than expected. The people at the billas were just super warm and kind. We spent a GREAT vacation. Very recommendable.

Overall: Our experience surpassed our expectation. The property is charming, beautiful, spacious and is more beautiful than the online brochure. The house itself was also charming, spacious and our cheerful host, Luigi was very helpful and onsite every day. He helped us to book arrangements whenever we asked him. He came immediately any time we had an appliance question or problem. Very nice man. Enjoyed Most: The rooms were spacious, plenty of baths, the kitchen was well outfitted, allowing us to eat in many nights. Also, charming, beautiful and clean. The beds very comfortable. They have a washing machine. There is heat if you need it. Enjoyed Least: Can't think of anything at the moment. I thought it was a little closer to town but it wasn't that far and we walked to the Florence bus every day. It might not be a bad idea to have a car and driver if there are enough people staying there but we were there with only a few other people so I could understand not being able to add that service without charging. Many people drive there with cars so it is understandable that they do not provide a car. Surrounding Area: The town of Grassina is very charming. Nice local people, good restaurants and buses to Florence. Really nice. Banks, services, etc. Nearby Events or Locales: Grassina. Yes, about one mile, I believe. Tips or Restaurants: Bring some warm clothes in late April, it can be chilly. Otherwise the house has all you need. They have a washing machine but bring your own detergent. Directions: We took a cab from Florence airport and did not have a car so I can't give drivers any advice. It is easy to find. Check In Out: No, it went smoothly. I was happy with the efficiency of the broker, RentVillas.com the directions, voucher and list of suggestions was very helpful. RentVillas.com is a good company and I would recommend them any day. I would use them again for sure.

Overall: Swiss high end quality. Very nice view and super nice apartment. Enjoyed Most: Bus stop right in front of house. Super views. Enjoyed Least: Linens were not included. Surrounding Area: Everything. I just love this ski area. Nearby Events or Locales: Grindelwald and yes. Tips or Restaurants: All is self explanatory. Directions: Used GPS but it was one house further up. Check In Out: Smooth!

Enjoyed Most: This home was absolutely gorgeous. We loved everything about it. Our group of 6 fit perfectly in the villa. We had plenty of room for privacy and still felt the coziness of traveling together. The attention to detail in the restoration was uncanny. The woodwork, tile, cleanliness and overall appearance made us feel like we were "true Italians." The explanations given about the home were right on. Enjoyed Least: We loved everything!!! The only thing that the owners could do is to give better instructions on how to use the washer-dryer. The machines had Dutch writing on them and it took us several guesses to operate. The dryers were especially tricky. Not a huge deal. We ended up using the clothes line! Surrounding Area: The home sits on its own secluded acreage. The views were breathtaking. Very private, but Proceno is a couple of minutes away. Landscaping around the house was beautiful. Herb garden for your taking. Property was well maintained. Nearby Events or Locales: Proceno. Would have been a good 30 minute walk. We loved the village. Everyone there knew us when we left. Wonderful market - "Roberto's". Many quaint streets to stroll down. There is even a castle and 7 churches. Tips or Restaurants: We ended up falling in love with one of the restaurants in town. Not only the restaurant but the family who owns it as well. They own the ice cream shop downstairs - where you can get cafes and croissants in the morning. Il Giardinetto is only 8 months old. Very chic in decorations. Food was CHEAP and delicious. We almost felt guilty when the bill would come. Cinzia, the manager, was fantastic. She spoke English and helped us with many of our day trips and directions. Check In Out: Caretaker spoke no English.

Il Pozzo in Monteriggione was a favorite. Directions: I had been there before, but the map app on my iPad helped.

Overall: We loved everything about our stay. Three couples stayed in Poggio 2. We were very comfortable--the 3 bedroom, 3 bath apartment was perfect. It was quiet and peaceful and we loved walking down the lane to see the vineyards and olive grove. Enjoyed Most: The bedrooms were spacious and each room had a private entrance. Each room had nice windows and it was so pleasant in early May that we could open the windows. We liked that we were in the country, and that we could walk into town. The little grocery store, the Coop, had everything we needed for breakfast and snacks. The owners left six bottles of their wine, Terre di Conio. They were tagged with the price. We paid 10 Euros for a very good Chianti Classico. There was also a bottle of their olive oil. Enjoyed Least: We liked everything. Surrounding Area: It was very easy to explore the Chianti area. One day we drove the Chianti trail visiting 5 charming medieval villages including Greve. We were able to take day trips to Siena, San Gimignano, Lucca, Pisa, Montelpulciano, Montealcino and Pienza. We loved tasting the wines of the region, viewing the beautiful countryside and visiting the medieval villages. We really loved the Tuscan food and the pici! Nearby Events or Locales: San Donato. The downtown area with a few restaurants and grocery store was about a 10 minute walk. We were very fortunate because there was a wine festival in San Donato celebrating 300 years of Chianti classic when we were there...1716 - 2016. Residential neighborhoods are adjacent to this Agriturismo. Tips or Restaurants: Bring a hair dryer that has a switch so it can be used on high voltage. The owners daughter, Giulia (pronounced Julia) was fabulous. She wrote out a list of towns to visit and nearby restaurants. There are several small towns within 5 -7 km which we visited for dinner 1. Badia a Passienano and restaurant La Scuderia 2. Barberino Val D'elsa and restaurant L'Archibugio 3 . Tavarnelle Val di Pesa and restaurant La Vecchia Piazza 4. San Donato and restaurant La Toppa. We ate at all the restaurants and loved them. She had 2 more suggestions in San Donato Palazzo Pretorio, La tavern di Ciccino. They must have replaced the pillows as they were comfortable! There was not a washing machine in our unit, but the owner did our laundry for 6 euros a load. Directions: The directions to the property were perfect. WE had GPS on our phones so we didn't rent it with the car, Check In Out: I had a phone call from Giulia on the morning of our check in day to discuss our expected time of arrival. I let her know when we left Florence and she was waiting for us when we arrived. She speaks very fluent English and is delightful. She spent quite a bit of time with us telling us about restaurants. Her mother lives on the property, but she does not speak English. The mother loved the translator app on our phones!

Overall: Once we arrived, everything was really nice. Michele (the owner) was very gracious and helpful. We used all three locations on the site as there were twelve of us. The accommodations were quite nice and fit our needs. The kitchen areas were a bit small, but we managed with our large group meals. Enjoyed Most: The main building for guests, as we were able to gather separately and as a complete group. Also, the view was incredible. Loved the hammock for star gazing. Too bad the weather was cool, as the pool was very inviting. Enjoyed Least: It was more remote than we anticipated. We hadn't realized that a car is required for getting around. Surrounding Area: Walking to the restaurant on the back side of the property was really nice. Being high on the hill provided a beautiful view of the area. Nearby Events or Locales: Ramazzano is the town nearest to the villa. It was within walking distance, but there is just a small grocery store and a small bar. We were disappointed that there were not more services available in the town. Tips or Restaurants: A rental car is a must. Future renters need not bring anything, as the villa is well supplied (except of course for dish detergent, laundry detergent, towels for the kitchen.) Check In Out: Michele made the process smooth and easy.

Overall: We had a marvelous time at the villa. Perfectly located with a great host. Besides being everything we were looking for in terms of beauty, location, cleanliness, accommodations, pool, Tuscan view...we were very happy to find that Raffaele, our excellent host, was there to help us arrange everything we needed including private wine tastings and fresh cherries. Marcella came over one night and made a tremendous Tuscan dinner with excellent wine. Lorenzo offered translations and suggestions for places to visit. The location made for great trips to all the wonderful "old towns". The marvelous cat, Stella, made it a lasting memory. Highly recommend. Enjoyed Most: Besides the great location (near town but out in the vineyards), the villa is quiet and has both a swimming pool and a tremendous view of the surrounding hillsides. Surrounding Area: The villa is centrally located near most all the Tuscan towns and locations. We made easy drives to many lovely spots and with the help of Lorenzo he made it even more special. Lorenzo took us on a tour one day to all the wonderful stops and of course, great wine locations. Nearby Events or Locales: We made the morning drive into Chianciano Terme to the local market. Tips or Restaurants: Raffaele ensured we had everything we needed and if not, found it for us. Directions: Had a GPS but it was not really needed. You should have one just in case, though.

Overall: We would recommend it to anyone. It is a beautiful place. Very comfortable. Away from the tourist trap of Fira, but close enough to be able to drive most places within a few minutes. Enjoyed Most: It was very private, clean and spacious. Enjoyed Least: Not within walking distance to the beach. Surrounding Area: It was quaint and charming. We were surrounded by the authentic Greek culture. It wasn't commercial. Lots of nice places to eat within walking distance. Nearby Events or Locales: Most places required driving to, although you could walk. We walked to Fira one day and it took us about 45 minutes. During the busy summer months it would probably be too hot to walk. There was enough accessible in the town where we stayed, so we were content. Tips or Restaurants: Renters have an option to request an automatic car if they are not comfortable driving manual. We didn't know that and we would have chosen automatic if we had known. I would say not to over-pack. It becomes a burden.Metaxumus is a local restaurant only known to the local people. It is a gem. All of the restaurants in Megalochori village were great. Directions: We were taken to the property by a representative of the property, so we had no problems. In fact, he was so nice - he even gave my husband a crash-course in driving a manual car. Check In Out: Our key-holder, Ester, was kind and sweet. She made us feel very comfortable and welcome.

Overall: Wonderful. The couple were very friendly and helpful and the views were unbelievably lovely. You could see several hilltop villages from outside the front door of the property. Enjoyed Most: Its location and beauty. Enjoyed Least: Difficult to say as it was so lovely. Maybe the nearness of the small gravel road with occasional farm vehicles. Surrounding Area: Easy to reach the local village and nearby towns. The sunsets! Nearby Events or Locales: Montechiello. You could walk there in 20 minutes, but it is uphill on the way back, so didn't try it.

Overall: Wonderful. More than we can possibly say. Enjoyed Most: It is an exceptional place to be located in Florence. Surrounding Area: Tremendous location. Cabs easily accessible. Restaurants in abundance. Many exceptional tourist locations so near by. The piazza is exceptional. Nearby Events or Locales: No. we did travel to Venice. Pisa, and Lucca by train. Tips or Restaurants: I'l Teatro Restaurant and Pizzeria. Via Ghibellina. 128r 50122 Firenze Tel e Fax +39055 246695They have the best food. Waiter Massimo is exceptional plus no seating charge. Always busy and once you eat there, you can understand why. Directions: We took a cab from the airport and he didn't seem to have any problem finding the place. Check In Out: No problem whatsoever. The staff is so friendly and you couldn't ask for more.

Overall: This was our second time in the same villa and it was wonderful. The renovations were great - enlarging one bedroom and 3 bathrooms. We were so comfortable and felt right at home. Enjoyed Most: The spaciousness and location. Enjoyed Least: The views. Surrounding Area: We were right in the middle of all the activity around Santa Croce and close proximity to most sites. Directions: Took a taxi and they knew just where Santa Croce was.

Overall: Spacious, lovely, gracious. And of course, the view is fantastic! Enjoyed Most: The location. Secondarily, I liked the huge living room. Enjoyed Least: The clunky, noisy fan in the bathroom off the master bedroom. Surrounding Area: Where to begin? Stepping out into beauty every time the huge automatic front door opened. Nearby Events or Locales: Again, this little part of the world is so well known, everything I could say is in guide books. Tips or Restaurants: The Antinori Wine Bar three doors down.

Overall: We would recommend this place to anyone! Enjoyed Most: Location!.... and it lived up to it's description. It was elegant and well furnished. The itchen was adequately stocked with dishes and cooking items. (We had many meals in). We loved looking out the windows at the Duomo. And being able to walk all over the area. Enjoyed Least: The street noise. We did learn to shut windows at certain times. Surrounding Area: Being able to walk to stores, markets and places to eat. It was a very safe part of town. Nearby Events or Locales: Central Market, walking across the bridges, walking to museums and churches we wanted to see. We were close to the bus station and made several day trips on buses....very convenient and easy. Tips or Restaurants: Trattoria Belle Dona, La Spada's roast chicken and potaoes. Good food at most places.

Overall: It was wonderful. It is just in the most wonderful location, and the staff if very helpful. Enjoyed Most: As I stated above, the location is perfect. We could walk to all the major sites, the super markets, and the train and bus stations. Enjoyed Least: The bathtub with a handheld shower was difficult to get in and out of. Surrounding Area: The beautiful church across the street and all the museums and the Duomo so close. Nearby Events or Locales: Fiesole, which isn't within walking distance. Tips or Restaurants: They have changed the plugs so make sure you have the correct converter. We found so many good restaurants in the area. Directions: We flew into Florence and got a cab so there wasn't a problem. Check In Out: No. Everyone was so helpful.

Overall: We really had a great time and a great stay and no complaints whatsoever. I would happily stay there again, especially since it took me almost a week to find my way around Florence's maze of streets. Loved the city, the food, everything! Enjoyed Most: The kitchen was very well equipped; the apartment was in excellent condition and extremely clean; the bed was very comfortable; and the location couldn't have been better, central yet quiet -just what was needed for a great sleep after a long day of walking and museums and shopping. Enjoyed Least: The mosquitoes that seemed to show up in the evening. Surrounding Area: Everything! 5 minutes to the Duomo, 10 minutes to the Ponte Vecchio, 15 minutes to the Palazzo Pitti. And the designer clothing stores were great for window shopping. We had the best of locations. Tips or Restaurants: The staff were very helpful as was the small bundle of tourist info in the apartment. Cannot recommend the Prada outlet tour enough!. A salad spinner and larger cutting board would have been nice, but aside from that the kitchen was well equipped. We rented a car for a day to see Greve and San Gimignano, and we can't suggest strongly enough the benefits of renting from the Airport! The highway is right there and for the 30 Euros it cost us to get back and forth it was well worth the aggravation saved from trying to navigate the streets in Florence. Restaurants- Omero, Del Fagioli, and Trattoria Mario were all standouts. Directions: Really all you need in Florence is the address and a taxi, especially when it is your first time.
