What an absolute shitshower this company is, low grade substandard products and absolutely no recourse if you complain,DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THEM BE WARNED

I went into my local SCS to look for a staircarpet. The first assistant was helpful and gave me the information about their current offers and discounts and talked through the type of carpet i wanted. But I can only assume that their pay is commission based: another assistant barged in and tried to take over; called me "luv" in a patronising manner and kept trying to get my attention by showing me carpets that were not at all what i wanted. In the end, he drove me out of the store with no sale for anybody!

disgusting customer care , had to travel had no internet and wanted to make changes to my order . when I rang them they said had to come in store. Explained that I couldn't and would they wait until I could come to store . was told sorry can't do anything about that .Now i got sofas the colour i didn't want .

My appalling customer experience included floor product not being to sample delivered direct to home, thus no SCS quality assurance/re-assessment of job, unimaginative and inflexible fitters, who aggravated fitting of not-to-sample product, very difficult three-way discussions, against the backdrop of poor communications and no follow-through, about partial re-fitting and further charges, and ultimately substantial unexpected personal costs of about 15% over initial price, finally to get a 3 week job done in less than 3 months, and after having to pay a final fee to the fitter who otherwise would not keep a previously agreed appointment; all rounded off by not being able to get through to SCS on the phone to try to talk rather than post this. Caveat Emptor

I purchased a sofa on 2nd October and still haven't received it. We changed the design 8 days after purchase because we couldn't cancel after 7 days and as such our statutory rights were invalid. Promised November, December, 13th January and after an email was sent to instruct me to pay the balance by the 13th of January to avoid delays to be followed two days later by an email stating it would be the 30th of January now but actually. All I get when I say I want to complain is a customer service person saying its not their fault its the supply chain and that we have to observe the contractual payment but they can make it up and mislead as they like. Oh and its my fault they had ordered a wrong chair and had to change it which caused more delays. They did give me a terrible sofa and chair to sit on at Christmas. And offered compensation of £50, then £100 on an order over £2000. Complete shambles. I hope Mr Llewyllen Bowen knows what a mockery they make of supplying a product carrying his name.

We bought a lazy boy sofa 9 months ago it cost just over £2000 it's the most we have ever spent on a sofa but we liked it and got told SCS are good 7 months later we noticed every time we got up it was leaving the seating area all wrinkly and creased it looks awful so I called aftercare team up they sent someone out there reply there was nothing wrong was it mechanically I said I know that but what about the wrinkles he said we have to straighten it out every time we sit on it that's not normal I know I would never buy from SCS again I am still trying to sort this out but getting know where they keep passing me to some one else then they say they can't do nothing about it it's all ok

ScS are to be avoided unless you want loads of hassle and substandard furniture carpets not fit for purpose, when you contact them they dont give a dam i had to take them to court i won all my money back through the court, scs messed us around for nearly a year they try to wear you down so they dont have to deal with you and give you your money back they are the worst company i have ever dealt with.

bought sofa set from scs never again several faults arms on sofa and chair not enough foam in them material been stitched all wrong so noticable scs sent out technician he agreed with me ,but then scs sent out someone else out as they said the first report had been mislaid the next technician was useless never took photos of the main faults so therefore scs agreed with that technician so i went to furniture ombusman and they were not much better. as i live in suffolk i have not been able to find a independant furniture technition as i would be taking it even furtheri paid £2500 do not buy this was bought only last year .

Made in store order which delivery was fine start of Oct then realised the premium care kit was missing. After many emails and phone calls between myself and SCS I am STILL waiting for something that I paid for and they haven’t given me. All I get every time when in contact with them is “sorry, but dispatch are sending again and will be with you in a few days”. Have even been given exact date of delivery and still not received. This is now coming up to THREE months from when the product should have been delivered. After cafe service is appalling…be careful

20 warranty worth nothing! BEWARE! 20 year warranty against manufacturing faults on sofa frames does not apply after 6 years as after then (their words) "it cannot be a manufacturing fault".

You do the selling very well but when it comes to maintenance you are very below the standard I had my suite 3 years it was paid for and I reported the sagging in the 2 chairs seats,the sofa fine.i had to pay £75 for someone to come out and look at it after several weeks I got in touch and after a bit of rigmaroll you informed me it was normal wear and tear,there was no offer of help even if I had to pay .in fact you were not interested..I know I will never recomend your company to anyone .you are a big disappointment.

Had my sofas a year now. I must admit this is the biggest load of rubbish I have bought, more comfort on a park bench, and the quality is not what I expected,, never buy from this store again, give it a couple of months and il give it charity, if not it they will be skipped, wish I had spent a few pound more and got something decent.

Salesman "Charles" lied through his teeth! We baught a sofa and arm chair, we paid for all the bells and whistles the better cushions this and that, the "insurance"is disgraceful. We have the Aurora range and whilst playing with my 3 year old the sofa snapped and collapsed down the middle. I thought it was entierly my fault untill recently. A family member saw our new suite and loved it, she bought a slightly different one, when hers was delivered the delivery man said to her that "she has the better sofa as the Aurora TENDS TO SNAP IN THE MIDDLE" and last week her arm chair snapped! She paid to have it fixed it cost her 400 and the man who did it said that no wonder it snapped as it was chipboard and that should NEVER be used on stress points like that. They are absolute cowboys i asked charles time and time again how long would the sofa last i have a young child they are clumsy accidents happen he said the frame itself would last for at LEAST 10 YEARS! And that the insurance would cover ANY other damage, we asked about having our cushions fixed as we paid for the better option and were dissapointed when they quickly started to bend out of shape in commenly sat in areas and were told that cushions are structural and not included under insurance. Avoid like the plauge Charles and his team will say ANYTHING to take your money.

I would suggest avoiding this company at all costs. I bout 2 x 3 seater sofa's, after 3 months they have come apart in none less than 12 places. I complained, they sent a technician to review them and then said they will repair them. This is because i didnt make a complaint within 30 days of delivery, well, they were not falling apart within the first 30 days but i have been quoted by SCS as this is 'their legal obligation to repair them'. After pressing the SCS 'aftercare' team member, there legal obligation is to me, the client and nothing or no one else. I therefore requested they be returned and i choose something else but due to their 'legal obligation' they cant and the sofa's must be repaired. In other words, they gave me zero choice. SCS is a high street brand, but beware, they produce extremely substandard goods, i now know this after digging around and seeing the various horror stories. Their aftercare team, frankly do not care and should be renamed 'after taking your money we are the do not care team'. Utterly disgraceful service, disgraceful quality, and border line arrogance from the gent on the phone, especially when he simply cut me off whilst i was talking, and yes i was talking not ranting. Sadly though, looking at their review score and the countless complaints they have received they have no intention of improving and will continue to simply rip off unsuspecting customers. PLEASE, EVERYONE, AVOID THESE COWBOYS. THEY ARE SIMPLY AWFUL.

The sofas I have ordered in August have been delayed by over 2 months, the store have no idea what is going on with them, manufacturing will not talk to them, no one knows why my sofas have been delayed. I am now at the point of getting trading standards aswell as the financial ombudsman services involved if my sofas are not delivered. There has been no transparency regarding the issue that has occurred with my order. I feel as a customer I am not being treated fairly. I have also received a bad attitude from Alison at the Abbotsinch branch. I also have the chat transcript from another employee stating they couldn't help me further as they have laryngitis. I do not want to cancel my order as I have already waited 4 months for it. I have a 3 month old baby in the house and have had no sofas since October as I was told by a person on the phone I would have them by then. This meant I got rid of my furniture for delivery of new sofas. The abbotsinch manager has failed to contact me both times he has arranged to and I have had to chase him up but he is always in meetings. This is surely not how scs conducts business. This is still ongoing and I have heard nothing back.

Two things. 1. They tried to extort me when I was to buy carpet from them. They added far more square metres than I needed. I knew this when I went to another company for the carpet. 2. They added extra £450 to the sofa I bought from them calling it a dismantle fee. The sofa could have come in pieces while they assemble them in my house. Rather they brought them assembled and they would not fit in through the door. Then charge me 450 pounds extra. Very poor customer service.

Sofa ordered 23/7/22. Delivery date was promised 21/10/22. This date has changed multiple times and I was told that SCS had it in small print that 4 weeks either side of this date was acceptable. Delivery date is now estimated 1/12/22 which is over 4 weeks late - trying to get communication with SCS is torture. I’ve not even received the sofa yet and it’s been a terrible experience……

Still waiting after 8 attempts to get a call back to get conformation of my sofa been cancelled and deposit back. Pushed into the purchase after advising we were just looking by been given a good deal at the time lead to belive if the new property fell through we could cancel which it did been trying si ce 20th September 2022 to get this done. Would not recommend SCS Cortonwood Barnsley to any one sales staff far to false and sale oriented.
