Customer service woes The chair itself is fine but the service from Scs was appalling . It was in stock a month before I could collect it as they have no way of physically calling there stores ? It’s all by email which nobody reply’s to. They promise the store will ring and they didn’t . Not even there customer service team have a telephone number to actually reach a member of staff ? Try ringing a store , good luck it goes through to a central hub who will connect you to the store and guess what , nobody picks up the phone . Customer service was woeful but the product is ok if you can put up with the hassle of trying to actually get it .

Having left the shop in Darlington on the 21/07/2021 after placing an order for a three piece suite and advised around 14 weeks for delivery We were very happy with the service. Until I received an e-mail that it was delayed second delay notice we went into the store and after having a conversation we were offered £125 goodwill payment which we accepted. but this did not stop further delay, another £50 goodwill reduction which was accepted having waited so long it got to the stage we had gone to far to cancel and start over again with anyone. finally today 07/01/2022 we have received delivery. so far so good as far as the furniture goes. we were looking to change other furniture but we have to say SCS will not be our first choice of store. We would have prefer'd the truth at the very begining as to the delays not in stages as you go along.

Due to the delivery difficulties nationally, we have had to cancel our order , the sales team did phone up to tell us the bad news and did offer some compensation + the possibility of a loan sofa , however there was no guarantee our order would be delivered in January so we asked for our money back ( over £500) which we paid in early August. I was I little disappointed I had to phone back to chase up my refund, it was then paid back to me within 2 more days . I can't give a review on the sofas all I can say that in store they whwr very comfortable. We have ordered a sofa from elsewhere ,in stock delivery within 10 days not 6 months.

Ordered carpet and sofa in May and because of Covid production issues was given date of Aug Sept for delivery. Ok with that. Chased for updates several times and bearing in mind, customer service are working from home, they were helpful. Was informed that sofa was available September but said I wanted carpet fitted first. Carpet fitting date arranged for October 15th and sofa 18th. Carpet arrived and fitted, all fine. Fitters did excellent job. Really excited about delivery of sofa due to arrive 18th….. Delivery did arrive, but…. It was the wrong sofa, totally different model and colour. I was offered the opportunity of using this item until my order could be completed, as in back to manufacture process, but due to the amount of time which had elapsed since the order was placed in May and still not correct, …. I asked for a refund and this was received within 4 days. The Manager kept his word. I have placed an order with another company and due date is February, I accept Covid is still playing a part in the lengthy lead times…but it’s local and I can talk directly to the store. My tale of woe is not one of poor quality but of sheer incompetence and the inability to be able to speak directly to the store to sort issues arising. Cute prices and glossy advertising need to be backed up with assured delivery dates of the correct items. The staff both instore and online deserve to be given daily updates from head office to enable them to do their job effectively. Unfortunately…. I would not recommend this company to anyone due to my experience.

I bought two two seater sofas. Was told they would be delivered 13th Sept. No suites. So called them, apparently cancelled to 23rd, no message, nothing. They have now arrived, look OK, am awaiting for them to repair a small fix, told they would ring on the 27th, now onto 28th, still waiting.

Not happy at all ordered and paid in full for a corner sofa at end of may still no delivery comfomation as of end of September, think they should pay a compensation

Customer service is appalling through no fault of our own my 3 seater sofa was brought in a van damaged and never got off the van. We have waited a week for information to what is happening but no one will take responsibility just get passed from pillar to post when I phone. I will not wait 12 weeks for a new one I want my money back with comp for all this stress. I will go to the papers with this. I wish I had never heard of S C S and feel sick everytime their advert comes on knowing how they treat people.

Customer service is non existent. Ordered sofas after was told it would definitely arrive within 12 weeks, we did leave 3 weeks after just in case. Got rid of old furniture one week prior to our 12 week dead line to now been told after phoning every day for over two weeks that the furniture maybe another three weeks plus before deliver. A e. Mail or phone call would have been good to let us know the furniture was delayed. They quick to take your money but that’s about all they care about

Delivery guys very pleasant , However after a couple of months of having my Endurance sofa , received a letter from SCS saying there was a fault on this model . Appointment made for upholsterer to come and fix fault , which he did , after taking sofa to bits and removing two bent steel rods out of seat cushions . The cushions are solid and uncomfortable , it's like sitting on a wall , have constant back and neck pain if sitting on sofa for any length of time . I wish i had gone elsewhere now , Would not recommend the Endurance Range at all , Cheap , solid foam used in cushions . Will now have to save to buy a replacement from elswhere .

Carpet was good and price fair. BUT delivery was awful, arranged somebody to be at the property for the fitters to lay the carpet but the fitters didn't show up, tried to call SCS Norwich for hours but no one picks up the phone, eventually they came 1 week after the original agreed date and fitted OK. All fine in the end but not worth the hassle

The initial service in store is excellent but of course they are out to make a sale. Follow up service is totally non existent. I like my sofa and chairs in the endurance range but despite all the rave recommendations by staff of this fabric being great and ideal with pets I wish I had gone for leather instead. The fabric is not suitable for dogs, the slightest damp mouth from a drink and you have a wet patch, it doesn’t mark so far but is off putting. You try the furniture in store, in our case many times taking months to decide which suite we felt was best etc and now it is here it really isn’t comfortable. The cushions are hard, hopefully they will soften over time, the back which seemed supportive in the shop props you at an awkward angle, suffering back and neck problems this is very uncomfortable. The awful thing about furniture is you can never really try it and if it’s not right too bad. The colour also was only via a swatch, again now in a full suite rather grey and dark. This is a problem no matter where you buy your furniture but the lack of any response from SCS is why I would not recommend them.

Initial purchase was easy as we knew what we wanted although the salesman was a little surprised by our speed but unfortunately he made some statements which later in the process proved to be more optimistic than the truth with regards delivery and disposal of old furniture. The delivery team (Gatkin and L. Mason) were excellent and most helpful

Happy with most aspects, but delivery charges are steep and only mentioned after sale is agreed. I could hire a van and pick up my purchase myself for significantly less than scs delivery charge.

Very unhappy SCS Renny’s Lane DURHAM appallingly customer service more interested in having banter with other staff members asked three times for advice very disinterested more interested in staff banter and whatever was on their mobile phone very rude walked out of shop and took my business elsewhere which was over £2,700

Having emailed on several occasions with a problem with our new fitted carpet within 24hrs of been fitted no response, after sales diabolical will never shop with this company again and I strongly advise any potential customers of scs think twice. Now seeking legal advice.

I have to say I was apprehensive about the delivery of our sofa after I read the reviews on here. I don’t usually write reviews but as all of these reviews are bad I thought it was necessary for me to give our experience. We fell in love with a sofa in the SCS store Hedge End, the sales man did all he was supposed to - knew all the product info and tried to sell add ons or what ever. He was doing his job! He said delivery would be 5 weeks or after to us and we left happy as this was our move in date to the new flat. Given it was ‘after’ 5 weeks, we brought no other sofas with us - and soon it became apparent we were not going to receive the new sofa any where near to 5 weeks. We called the Hedge End store as the paper work advised and as other people have accounted, they said they’d call back but never did. At this point we realised ‘after 5 weeks’ was completely open ended and they weren’t actually doing anything wrong as there wasn’t an end date to the latest we might receive it. So we waited - and 9 weeks later I received a call to arrange the delivery of the sofa which was today. The lady on the phone read her script and it was nothing special, but she did her job. I was almost sure the sofa would arrive broken or not at all given the terrible reviews on here, but the crew brought it in and did everything they were supposed to and we are so pleased with the sofa! I’m not sure if I would go with SCS again as I would rather have a cement range of delivery estimation, i.e. for this case 5-10 weeks or at least updates on the status of it. Saying that if there was furniture in their store that I loved and I couldn’t find it somewhere else I wouldn’t not go with them. One other thing that I was a bit concerned with was that once you have confirmed a delivery date, there is no email or text to confirm this - so you might not receive it on the day you arranged and there would be not customer evidence that it was originally arranged. Anyway - from this I have learnt that no one review is a reflection of everyone’s experience, and whilst I think SCS could do more to provide a better service we got what we wanted and they didn’t do anything wrong on their part other than not call us back.

Sofa quality has slipped a bit in recent years but that aside customer service excellent as usual.
