“It is with great pleasure that I submit a review of Senior Discovery Tours.
My husband and I have been on 3 of your tours, and had booked one for March 23rd till Apr. 7th, 2020, which was cancelled due to the Covid 19. This was most disappointing because we had such wonderful times on the other tours and could not wait to go again. We had made friends with a couple from Guelph, On. and were looking forward to traveling with them again. It was sad to have that trip cancelled but we were relieved to get a full refund and we were happy to know that we would be safe at home instead of in Calabria Italy where our tour was to take us. YOUR COMPANY DID THE RIGHT THING !! Many of the people on these tours fall within the most vulnerable age group for the virus, and it would have been very dangerous to have been stranded in Italy under quarantine as well as having to self isolate once we arrived back to Canada.
All were amazing tours.. Puglia in 2017, Lake Garda 2018, and Swiss Alps and Italian Lakes , 2019. We had Suzanne Marchington for both our Puglia tour and the Lake Garda one. She was the epitome of what a good tour guide should be. She was so very helpful and capable to meet any challenges found on tour. We appreciated her kindness and cheerful manner no matter what the situation brought.
Everything was wonderful. The hotels, the meals, and the tours.
We took the Swiss Alps and Italian Lakes tour from September 19th to Oct. 4th. This time our tour manager was JanTaylor. She was very kind and helpful as well.
My husband celebrated his 80th birthday on the last trip ( the Swiss Alps/Italian Lake ) and although we would love the idea of seeing more of Italy and Europe, we feel that considering our advancing age and some health issues, we will likely not go on another tour.
However, we have the photos and trip diaries I wrote while on the past trips and it is likely we will watch them over and over again when we feel we would like to remember all the good times we had. We are likely beyond being able to take a long flight again and with all the precautions as well as rising prices for air travel, we doubt we will go again. However, if we cannot go ourselves, we certainly will let others know what a wonderful company you have and how great the tours are. Things will get better.”
“I have had seven trips with you and thoroughly enjoyed them all. I would love to go again but am quite elderly now. I did book in last March for a trip in the Calabria region but my companion got sick at the last minute. and we had to cancel. I would like to try again if it wasn't too strenuous. Dorothy Mackay”

“We have done two trips with Senior Discovery Tours, two weeks in Tuscany and 30 days on the Costa del Sol. In both cases the accommodations were excellent, the day trips interesting and our fellow travelers compatible. Our last trip to Spain was interrupted by the COVID 19 outbreak but our tour director in particular and Senior Tours as backup, provided comfort and leadership.
I have to say that on both trips our tour directors were exceptional.
We look forward to being able to travel with Senior Discovery Tours again.”
“Good combination of planned tours, excursions, etc. and free time.... Some Leaders better than others..... ( e.g. photos were taken in Scotland Rail and Sail last May to be sent to us ----- I never received them )....... most Suppers included , which adds to group cohesiveness....... Picnic lunches is a great idea --- would like to see that more often ! Have you considered a northern Canadian trip including White Pass and Yukon Railway ?”
