“We went to Hawaii in February 2019. Our Tour Director was very good! We went to Oahu, Kona and Maui. We enjoyed the island of Maui the best. The flights between islands were very good. Our flights from Canada (Toronto-Vancouver-Waikiki) and back, Maui-Calgary-Toronto were unfortunate. We had to wait for the Airport Express bus for 6 hours after arriving at Toronto Pearson Airport a half hour after the last Airport Express bus left! Not Senior Discovery's fault. All in all, while we were in Hawaii, the round-the island tours were good. We thought there would be more tours to sign up for and didn't realize until it was too late that we were expected to make our own arrangements. All in all, it was lovely to finally see Hawaii! Submitted by Robin Cordner, wife of Phil Norley.”
“I have traveled with Senior Discovery over many years. I've always enjoyed my trips, very well organized, and with excellent leaders (only one exception over the years on the latter.) Always felt comfortable. Extensive variety of destinations to choose from. Always liked being picked up to get to the airport. Hope it wont be too long before we can travel again.”
“The tour we took to Maori & Sorrento in 2019 was very enjoyable. The hotel in Sorrento was great with a marvelous view . Enjoyed the side trips & the meals. Our 2and trip with Discovery Tours for late March was cancelled due to COVID-19.”
“I have done 3 tours with your company. I look forward to receiving your brochures. However, I have been disappointed recently with the low number of stay-puts. Personally speaking, my only complaint would be the number of stay-put tours. I hope to be travelling with you at some point in the future.”
“A lot depends on the SDT rep besides the itinerary. The Morocco tour was spoiled by your rep - Barbara Barde who changed the itinerary, occupied the two best seats and was nowhere to be seen at Toronto Airport.
I've been on 4 tours so far, and would like to see more tours in the "Exotic" category.
Having travelled widely, it is difficult to find an itinerary that explores new places for me.
I love nature, so the Vancouver Grizzlies and the Ethiopia tours were the best for me.”
“We enjoyed the tours . The only thing we could say that in some locations the food was substandard and the wine was not even mediocre.
The biggest problem was that on both tours one of or both got sick. The bug was aboard the bus on it was passed around.
So, now with COVID-19 these types of holidays seem just a memory although a generally pleasant one .”
“All guides were excellent and organized. Our last trip in Feb.to Tenerife took 30 hours to arrive, too many transfers not ideal for seniors.Seniors needing assistance should not consider the guide as their personal nurse and should not travel alone.
Flights should also depart from Montreal in order to eliminate the extra flight to Toronto”
“We have taken 2 tours the first to Hawaii some years ago and this year to Spain. The Hawaii tour was very nice and most of the group said they would prefer to take one day off of the stay in Honolula but as the years passed we noticed there was no change made. This year we had to deal with the lock down in Spain for a week. We were gifted with a $1000. off of a future tour. Both tours had wonderful tour managers.”
“Liked that we were picked up in town, so didn’t have to drive anywhere. All incidentals were taken care of and our seating at the theatre was very good.”
“Trip to China was almost excellent until we got on the Air Canada flight home. Being treated worse than cattle and given noodles for breakfast created a lot of hate and discontent. All internal flights were excellent, why not use Chinese Airlines for the long haul flights? I will not do any long trips on Air Canada.”
“In 2017, as a solo guest, I traveled with a group on the Paris to Rome tour. Although there was a lot of bus time, this was expected and I did tick many items off my bucket list. It was a memorable trip that is remembered fondly for the points of interest and a couple of very nice traveling companions I met in our group. I am grateful to have seen the famous Notre Dame Cathedral before the devastating fire that occurred a couple of years later. I had booked a river cruise for the fall of 2020 but alas COVID has canceled everything. Looking forward to resuming travel when all this is behind us.”
“I enjoyed my trip very much, as did my sister, with the exception of the meals served at the Presidente Hotel in Viarregio. The accommodations at this hotel were good but the meals were abysmal and at times inedible. One in our group said they must be cleaning out their freezer of old food and I must agree. The fish was off, the soup a stew, the meat stringy, old and unpalatable. To make matters worse, we had no choice of places to eat nor had the privilege of eating at any of the restaurants. Some did anyway at their own expense.”
