Went to buy a car from here after lockdown as I've always heard good reviews. Disappointed when my appointment was double booked but someone else looked after me. Ended up buying a brand new car from here. I kept ringing up and told my messages were being passed on but they never were. The sales man gave me his mobile number to combat this, which he shouldn't have had to I complained regarding the difficulties and received a free tank of fuel - although I had to remind them because no-one had actually passed it on, so communication clearly hadn't got better after my complaint. I have had the car a few months now and even after a few reminder emails, I am still waiting for my service plan to be set up. I'm extremely disappointed that I have had to write this review as SG Perch York has always been well recommend by everyone locally. They did only have a fraction of staff back due to covid, which I did account for with timings, but they were still promising things would be done in a timely manner when it is clear that it is not able to with a third of the sales team in. SG Petch, you need to be more honest with your customers regarding timings and improve on communication between staff and departments. I'm really disappointed that I have had this service, especially after spending such a sizeable amount of money. Your company has been one held in high regard locally but you have really let yourself down. I do not feel like a valued customer at all and feel as though other customers, as well as new ones, are being put higher on the level of importance to you.

Told that “Company Policy is not to negotiate a discount for cars bought cash. Also policy not give an up to date MOT certificate if over 5 months remaining on the current certificate. A cheapskate attitude. The car is fine so far. I will not buy again from you, and will readily warn off anyone who asks me.

Extremely poor service from SGPetch. My last three contacts have left me very disappointed. Culminating in today waiting 2 1/2 hours for a call back after being informed on line that it would be very quick. My underlining impression from my last three visits is a total lack of care, and I have been a customer of this company for a number of years. Very disappointed.

Nice enough sales man, did have a few issues with getting finance which I wasn't made aware of could happen but ended up paying straight out for car so not a massive issue, the most disappointing part was the valeting which was extremely poor, to the point where I had to pay to get it done myself after finding an old Cooplands wrapper in door.

Initially very good , agreed a deal and went from there. Considering this was a very expensive purchase for ourselves and also the first time we have paid this much for a car (£22,500) we maybe expected a bit better after sales service, I don’t know how it works? Still waiting after nearly 4 weeks for a price on a service package and even mudflats . Not even a courtesy call to ask how it was going . Luckily for us we love the car so review based on after sales service or lack of :(

Salesman Reg was good, after sales team rubbish. About a week or so after purchasing our sportage there appeared to be a slight knocking coming from under the car, I was told it might be an anti roll joint that's worn by a local mechanic, the car was booked in to have a tow bar fitted because sg petch told us they don't fit towbars, while the car was in the fitting bay I asked the fitter if he would have a quick look (nothing visable could be seen), I then a few days later booked it into sg petchs workshop for examination, to be informed it was the tow bar causing the knocking, we explained it could not possibly be the towbar as it made the noise prior to it being fitted, to which the reply was well we will take your towbar off for a fee of £250 to eliminate this as a cause, we repeated that the noise was apperrent before the towbar was fitted this fell on deaf ears and then was told we should have let them fit the towbar, they told us when we bought the car sorry we don't fit towbars, round and round we went until we just came away with the car and the noise grrr

Got a deal off the manger in Richmond but his sales team need to work on their cheesy patter. Had to take the car back to Durham!! Wow never again.

Dealing with the sales person was frustrating. I felt like I was an inconvenience rather than a valued customer. The manager stepped in and resolved the issues. Everything went perfectly when I collected the car but I was told that I would get an after sales follow up call - that has not happened.

Could have been better. I ordered a silver Niro for dilivery in December, ( I was told it was extra for silver paint until I pointed out that it was standard paint ) After about eight weeks I was informed that there was no sign of any silver car coming off production and would I like a black one instead ,which I declined .after two weeks I was informed that there was a car ready for collection. After a problem transferring the money, I finally collected the car but I realised there were no car mats .there was no mention that I would have to pay extra for mats in a new car.

Second vehicle in a year. chosen Mickey Shaw was helpful and professional. As were others I dealt with. Much like last time. There was an issue with delivery of my chosen model - not directly the dealership's fault. Certainly not mine although I ended up paying for it. I had PURPOSELY chosen a Motability vehicle with no upfront payment. The vehicle in question was the Seat Leon xcellence Lux 2.0Tdi DSG. I placed the order in September I believe - it was due the beginning of December. Last I heard it was due march. So I chose a cheaper vehicle with less standard equipment, which should have had an upfront payment of 250 pounds. I suggested that as this was a lesser vehicle (fr) AND not my initial choice AND no fault of mine, the price should remain as initially agreed. But no. The best that could be done was 50% reduction. I feel this was a silly decision . All the good work put in by the majority of staff is pushed aside by this incident i just cant get out of my head. And it will certainly have a bearing on where I order my next vehicle from.

Generally the purchase went ok but there were one or two points worth mentioning. The salesman had told us it was a 5 speed auto gearbox but it's a 4 speed, as there wasn't a parcel shelf in the car when we looked at it he told us they don't normally come with them (Mmm) but the Petch advert photos showed that car with a shelf and it was provided. On handover he volunteered to tell DVLA online that out part ex car was out of our ownership but all he did was to SORN the car with them. Not sure of his motives for that one. Fortunately I had taken a copy of the necessary slip on the V5a and we did it ourselves when we got home. That said the car is lovely and we are very pleased with it and so far going very well.

Experience was ok but tyre pressure warning light on dash was on before the car I bought went supposedly through workshop and was still on the day I collected it Makes me wonder if any inspection or pre handover check was completed

I am delighted with the car. However, there were a couple of issues which needed addressing, and highlighted that on occasions your attention to detail faltered. I am still not in receipt of the documents from the DVLA, so I cannot give you a final review of my purchase.

Very friendly staff and happy to help with my car purchase. However sold me a used car with faulty clutch cable and after 5 days car had to be returned for repair. This fault should have been adressed when car was put up for sale. The fault was rectified immediately but am not sure i would be confident to use them again.

Very attentive pre-sales but not very good after sales. I had a query about car mats that the fiat web site said were included but were not in the car when I picked it up. The only reply I got was’i Have referred it to me manager’

Overall the service was middle of the road, communication needs work, I had to chase for updates on the progress of my car a few times as it was in the body shop. I had a few technical issues with the car a week after receiving it which I called the branch and asked to speak with the sales rep for assistance on two occasions, still waiting for a phone call back, ultimately I have resolved them myself to the best of my knowledge.
