“There are mixed reviews about this company, and I wouldn't have ordered if I'd read them first. I received an email confirming my order (over £70) and saying I would receive another when the wool was dispatched. My account showed the debit the following day. After a week I sent a polite email, saying that I understood that the pandemic might well be causing problems but asking for an update. Three phone-calls went unanswered. A week later, I managed to speak to Claire, who immediately said the wool was out of stock in the colours I'd ordered, and offered to refund my payment. The two stars is just to reflect the fact that the refund appeared in my account the following day, but the lack of communication, a website incapable of indicating 'out of stock' and the willingness to immediately accept payment even though the lack of stock must surely have been known is very poor business practice.”
“Good prices on sales yarns but lousy communication.
Have ordered twice, first order took over a week to arrive. Given Covid problems this was expected however I had to chase as I not heard if the order had been depatched.
Second order, after 12 days nothing had arrived so I emailed company and asked for an update. Two days later I had an email from Paypal to say my payment had been refunded. Presumably the goods were out of stock, but there was no explanation or apology from Shirley Wools.
Fortunately found another supplier, although price was a lot higher, and yarn arrived within 2 days of placing the order, along with an email to confirm it had been sent.
I guess you get what you pay for, but it would have been good to know, yarn was not going to arrive.”
“Wool arrived promptly but it was advertised as buy 3 plus balls and receive 3 free patterns. I didn't receive any patterns, so would not buy from her again as false advertising.”
