If only they read emails !!!! My order was sent to the wrong address. As soon as the acknowledgement arrived, I emailed them to point out the error - ignored. I emailed again the following day. Ignored. I emailed when I received notification it had been dispatched and asked where it was being sent. Ignored. It was sent to me - not to the lady who is doing the knitting for me and lives 75 miles away. I am an old guy with limited mobility and had to arrange to get to a post office and send it on to her - that cost me £4.19 and I had already paid them for postage. Completely ignored. I guess when everything goes to plan this company might be good, but afraid it's absolutely useless when it comes to listening to customers and then responding to their emails. Of course, if they read the reviews they could refund the additional postage and write and apology ......

Well I'm sorry to have to do this, but after five emails to this company and NO reply to any of them I'm now giving my review, I indeed two patterns, they arrive within a few days but one pattern was nit what I ordered so I have repeatedly asked them to send me the one I did order, however they are just not answering.....so my advice, DONT bother with this company, I'm now in touch with PayPal to get my money refunded...

Shirley wools supplied me with 8 balls of wool but when I unwound one, it had several meters of black wool as part of the ball instead of the blue colour I had ordered. When I contacted them about this I was told it was way too late to complain so basically tough! I pointed out that she was obliged to either replace or refund it irrespective of how long it had been since I bought it as it was faulty goods & was told “these are my terms” - in other words, if you don’t like it, sue me!. Rubbish customer service & will never buy from them again. Suggest if you buy their products you check what you have received as you will only get short shift if you complain!

Shambles of a company email to say they have sent the yarn never arrived I phoned and told they didn’t have what I wanted. They have refunded I was waiting for it due to the first email saying status sent. This has happened 2 times out of 5 . She even had the check to say I was rude when I said I will never order again from them . Also sent 5 email’s no reply had to phone

Professional website, thank you email re purchasing from a small business followed by a despatch confirmation but wool never arrived. Several emails asking for tracking info but no response. Very disappointing.

I will never purchase from this company again. Ordered 10 x 50gm balls of Sirdar Snuggly 3ply to crochet a baby shawl, pattern states 9 x 50gm balls. I have made this shawl 3 times previously and 9 balls have always been sufficient. Not so on this occasion, I was approaching the end of the 9th ball with still lots to do so I weighed the 10th unused ball. 45 gms. I checked the item I was making in pink, with a previous one in white, no difference in size so my tension was fine. I found some of the white left over and compared it with the pink, complete difference in quality, the pink being coarser. I complained and Shirley Wools very rudely stated that I should apologise to them, which of course I haven't done.

Disappointed as the wool I ordered was really beautiful. Had to contact Paypal after 2 weeks as there was no respond to my email asking for updates on the delivery.

Very poor service - after contacting Claire Mills I was accused of lying about the non-delivery of my package. Without any notification I also discovered on my credit card that I had been credited for something that was not communicated to me - ie. not given an option to cancel my order if the omitted item may affect my project? After a second email of complaint to Claire I was merely sent a Royal Mail notification of the non-delivery without even as much as an apology. What disgraceful behaviour! If the omitted item affects my project I would be expected to return the goods at my further expense and inconvenience - this again is disgraceful business attitude. Never will be returning to doing business with this online retailer again.

I wish I had looked at this site before making a purchase. I would not recommend this site as the owner does not recognise her own Terms & Conditions and does not read her emails. I will not be using her shop again. BEWARE.

This is not genuine Sirdar Dk Crofter Wool. I compared it with the real thing which I had already received from another firm. Shame on you! It’s not quite as soft and slightly thicker, even the label is different 🤷‍♀️Just as well I am only knitting a cowl, if it was a baby garment it would have. Knitted up bigger. I’m still inclined to send an official complaint. Very disappointed 😕

Terrible experience ordering from Shirley Wools. Please avoid unless you like rude members of staff and no communication. I received an email to confirm my order was processed, two days later I then received a notification from paypal to say a partial refund had been processed. No explination as to why this happened, what was being send or even if what I ordered was being sent. There was no reply to my email asking why I was refunded either. When I called today the woman I spoke to rude and dismissive from the second she picked up the phone, I understand you may be having a tough time of it at the moment however we are all having a rough time but there is no reason to treat people like that ESPECIALLY if the issue is down to your companys lack of communication. This call would never have happened if someone had send an quick email to state that what I ordered was no longer in stock or if someone had taken the initiative to perhaps call or email to see if I had wanted an alternative or heavens forbid explain what at had happened! If your staff pick up the phone and start off the call rude that is what they are going to get in return, shocking non existant customer service, staff should NOT be taking their frustrations out on customers. I woukd suggest some customer service training is long overdue.

Never received my order thru her business on Etsy. She closed her shop and I could not communicate with anyone. Currently trying to resolve thru Etsy. Order still classified as unshipped, but you know she got her money. Have emailed thru an email address on the internet, but still have had no response. Will never order from her again.
