“Nice oak and stainless steel components and easy enough to fit. 3m long oak rail slightly out of true but could be aligned ok on the brackets. Screws for bracket to oak rail need to be harder. Obviously you need pilot holes with wood as hard as oak but I still turned off a screw head. There were no instructions but pretty obvious how to put it together”

“Really good but a couple of slight service improvements would win 5*. Screws and plugs are supplied, great, but they were loose in a box and some fell out en-route. Put them in a sealed bag please: bubble, jiffy, even an envelope would do. And why does it take 3 days to -begin- the shipping process? Similar suppliers can do next day. The products are great and the leadtime I can work with I guess but bag the loose bits please. Would I buy again from this supplier? Yes.”

“I am very pleased with the handrails. They are very good quality. They missed out on a 5 star review due to missing parts in the consignment. My voice message was not returned. However they responded to my email and said they were sending out replacement parts. Hopefully these will arrive promptly.”

“Ordering and delivery was excellent. Friendly and efficient. The hand rail is good but (here we go) I would make a few comments on the fittings. The screws supplied were poor. I bought some size 10, S/S, C/S and they look a treat, well suited to the brackets. Smooth dome headed screws were used to attach the rail to the brackets. Perfect. Can I suggest you predrill the ends or the rail to enable the cap to fitted centrally. The only thing not quite right is the one end cap fits very loosely on to the plastic part. Time will tell. If it keeps dropping off I will have to glue it. Overall a good service, and looks really good on my stairway. Thanks”

“The wooden handrails were very difficult to screw the fixings to due to the hardness of the wood. Bought 2 of these and paid a decent amount but not been able to use yet for the above reason. I will get either an electric drill to assist in the fitting or a joiner. This is not a criticism of the supplier as items arrived well within timescale given and product is made to a very high standard.”

“I would like to say I am very happy with the walnut rail I ordered. Even though there was a noticeable bend at one end, once positioned on the wall it added a quirkiness I quite liked. There were however several raw plugs missing and one of the plastics endcap mounters was slightly to small, which meant the metal cap kept falling off. That said, Dan the managing director contacted me and offered to replace these FOC. Please note that when installing that you must use the correct pilot hole size. I unfortunately used one to small and snapped off a screw inside the rail which caused a problem not that easy to resolve. Also, that brackets that fix the rail to the wall seemed fixed and off centre. It was not until the second bracket I noticed they moved but had already drilled holes in the wall. Make sure these are 100% tightened and in a straight position before fixing. Quality of the Wood and Brackets 10/10 Quality of the fixtures 7/10 (parts missing and end cap to small) Quality of the customer service 7/10 (took 3 days to respond but were very nice when they did) Installation instructions 2/10 (difficult to find on the website and could be much clearer) Overall, I would recommend Simple Rails for cost and quality, but defiantly seek advice on installing as this has proved to be more difficult that expected.”
