My 92 year old father has had contents insurance with Tesco for many years. He pays annually and recently moved house. I called to cancel his insurance policy 3 months before the next renewal date . No refund (fair enough) but they wanted cancellation fee of £35 plus another charge of £16. Needless to say I just told them to let it run until November when the policy ends. Shocking service! Loyal customers mean nothing . Will not use Tesco again 🤢

Extremely disappointed with the handling of my claim by Tesco Bank and their claims handler, MPL Claims. It has been 60 days since my son's accident, and there is still no resolution in sight. Key Issues: Despite raising a complaint and chasing it up eight times, I have received no adequate response. Requested to speak to a manager on three occasions, but these requests have been ignored. MPL Claims offered only 82% of my car's market value and took 31 days to review vehicle examples, dismissing them due to expired listings. Communication has been inconsistent and responses often take up to 20 days. Initially promised a hire car for my 18-year-old son, which was later retracted. This level of inefficiency and poor service is unacceptable. I have also contacted the Financial Ombudsman due to these ongoing issues. Tesco Bank needs to seriously reconsider their association with MPL Claims if they value their customers' satisfaction and efficient claims handling.

Worthless Home Insurance !. The legal guard section is underwritten AM Trust and the claims handlers Arc Legal who are owned by them. They decline claims despite WHICH and two solicitors saying the policy should cover our claim. The Arc Legal claims handlers are not legal or insurance experienced but an ex labourer and welding supervisor, Tesco don't want to know even though its their policy and sold to us as a 5 star Defaqto policy. They say we have to deal with the underwriters claims handlers. Its a total nightmare. AM Trust have been involved in a Massive scandal in 2020 involving the Securities and Exchange Commission in the US and have had to pay out millions. Insurance Company and Former CFO Charged With Faulty Loss Reserves Disclosures Defendants to Pay $10.5 Million to Settle SEC Charges. Google ARC Legal and the reviews. There are hundreds negative reviews of ARC Legal and AM Trust and the reviews say they just disallow claims as standard practice. WHICH have said they have received many complaints and their journalists are investigating ARC Legal. Dont ever ever buy Tesco Home insurance !

Tesco Home Insurance. Be Afraid. Be VERY VERY afraid. Fined and censured by Ombudsman. Cancelled my policy without reason. Directed to meet my valid claim by Ombudsman/FCA who then placed the history as a Case Study on their own website. 18+ months later, still denying my claim. 18+ months later still homeless. 2268806P Tesco Claim number PNX - 4698559 - D1F4 Ombudsman report number. Link to both my YouTube Video AND the Ombudsman report+ recent report in Telegraph showing my experience is not isolated . This bank has previous! STAY WELL AWAY Took car insurance out with Tesco. Knocked someone down - police came, seen it on CCTV - not my fault as the person walked into the side of my car. Tesco send out an investigator to my house who harassed me for information over and over again. Trying to get the name of the man I knocked down - how the heck would I know that. I then tried to phone them for information and they said they couldn’t speak to me as it was now a criminal investigation!!! I phoned the police to ask them and they said there was no investigation as I wasn’t at fault. They also said that there was no legal requirement for me to talk to the investigator. Tesco then sent me a letter saying they would no longer insure me. You’ve no idea how frightening the experience was. It was bad enough for the guy I knocked down, I obviously felt bad about that and then them investigating me. OMG. I then go visit my mum and she’s now telling me Tesco are sending threatening letters to my dad for insurance premiums he hasn’t paid for 18 months. My dad gave up driving 2 years ago, sold the car, is 75 and has dementia.

I had very bad experience with this insurance, I have car insurance since October 2023 , I added key cover insurance to my policy, they gave wrong information about the policy, I had escalated the complaint to the concerned department and they said they will pay for me the invoice for the locksmith company to open my car because they gave wrong information about key cover policy, then after I paid they called me and said sorry we can’t pay the invoice, they are unprofessional and the teams are working with no experience, I can’t trust the Tesco car insurance anymore.

Tesco home Insurance! part of Tesco Bank. Avoid them. My renewal quote this year had gone from £350 last year to £600 this year, no claims, no explanation. But they had also increased the excess needed to pay. No way to email them as they don't have an email. Do a comparison online and Tesco home insurance is £304 so they lost a customer, don't trust your renewal quote especially if it has doubled. Tesco are ripping you off. Used NFU far better speaking to a person over a coffee rather than a computer.

Please avoid Tesco loan, they will waste your time. People who work there have no clue what they are doing. I initially applied for loan on 13th Dec and was approved at5.9% which was cheapest at the time. After the application no sign of any email or text. Called up next day and I was told a letter has been posted. Waited for over a week and didn’t receive any letter. Called up again and I was given all sort of reasons beacuse of Christmas postal service is slow. They said they have sent 3 letter and I only receive 1.. Also they don’t have email facilities so I can’t receive or send documents electronically. Waited for 2 weeks to get the letter. Finally letter came through. Posted back with requested documents. Within few days I had a phone call saying they need to see back part of the biometric card which was never mention previously. Sent 2 letter paid £7.35 for each letter on next day delivery so I can get the money on time. On 9th Jan I had another phone call from Tesco loan money will be in my account with 2 hrs. After the previous phone call within 30mins I had another phone call from Tesco saying my application has been declined. due to affordable reason.. what a waste of time promising loan and making people wait for 3 weeks and saying it’s been declined. Why were these checks not done previously? ABSOLUTELY UNPROFESSIONAL. Case was handle by team leader / manager Suzanne and Greg.

After 2 years of being in their words " a very good customer " and with no claims in 30 years they increased my insurance on a C1, valued at £2/3k, from £320 to £804, when I contacted them to try to reduce my bill, I took 3 family members ( all in their 40s/50s ) off and reduced my mileage from 5000 to 4000 and their quote went up to £840. Needless to say I am no longer a good customer

Banking app not working. They told me I had the wrong pay plus card, passed around for 2 hours with the payplus card and credit card payment. 3-4 months later still cannot pay my credit card through the app, now can't pay it through the on line banking webpage...I love my card, I am going to end up cutting it up as I am losing trust. I have it set up to pay off in full, though I always pay usually manually worried it won't pay off in full now....I dont have the strength to call them again as they don't have a clue, just passed about last time. Heart broken

Since 12 June 2023, I have been trying to add my Tesco Loan to my existing online account (existing credit card customer) without success. For context, I have been a Tesco Bank customer for many years. Despite the online account system allowing you to ‘add other accounts’ it is simply a web form upon which entering, you are informed ‘someone will be in touch’. To date, nothing has been done, and when I call your staff, I get passed from pillar to post. What’s more, your ‘complaints department’ were unable to help! Numerous phone calls and emails later, I have now resorted to FOS as I am still unable to manage my loan online. Your organisation is fragmented and inept. Once FOS look into it, I will be cancelling both accounts with you and using a conventional bank.

Ridiculously overzealous with the security protocols. Have to authorise every online transaction through the app even if its for £2. I can just spend £100 contactless in store with no issues - make it make sense.

I was a member of Tesco Black Box car insurance for a duration of two years. On the 25th of March 2022, I was involved in a vehicular accident, following which I was provided with a replacement vehicle by Enterprise Rent a Car, facilitated through my Tesco Black Box insurance policy. My own vehicle was deemed a total loss, and subsequently, Tesco Insurance disbursed a payout to facilitate a replacement vehicle. This pay-out was subject to a £350 deduction as an excess, with a commitment from Tesco Insurance to reimburse this amount once I was determined to be not at fault. Upon procuring a new vehicle, I chose to retain my insurance coverage with Tesco, incurring an additional £90 fee for the change in the insured vehicle. I was assured that this fee would be reimbursed upon a determination of non-fault status. Furthermore, Tesco Insurance imposed an additional premium of £317 on top of the pre-existing insurance costs for my previous vehicle. Despite my persistent attempts to engage with Tesco Black Box insurance, documented through a series of interactions on 17.05.22, 24.06.22, 28.06.22, 30.06.22, and 02.09.22, no substantive updates were provided regarding the payment from the third party insurance. Subsequently, Tesco Insurance directed me to contact the third-party insurer independently to secure the return of the excess amount. I duly contacted the third-party insurance provider and successfully reclaimed my excess. Nonetheless, Tesco continued to levy a premium of £998.64 for my insurance coverage, even after my policy was renewed on 01.11.12. This was contingent on their assurance that the premium would be reimbursed once a non-fault determination was established. Over the course of more than a year, I maintained regular contact with Tesco Insurance, seeking reimbursement for the expenses. No progress was made in resolving my claim, and Tesco consistently declined to provide the promised reimbursement. Frustrated with the lack of resolution, I opted to terminate my insurance policy with Tesco Insurance on 15.10.23. To my surprise, this action incurred an £80 cancellation fee, and an additional £50 charge for failing to return the black box device, even though such an option had not been presented. Subsequently, I received an email from Tesco Insurance on an unspecified date, confirming the receipt of their payout from the third-party insurer. They also affirmed my non-fault status in the accident and assured the removal of any claims affecting my no-claim discount. Subsequently, I initiated contact with Tesco to request the reimbursement of the outstanding sums. Multiple formal complaints were lodged with Tesco Insurance through email and live chat, all of which have been meticulously documented. In light of the absence of responses from Tesco, I sought legal counsel to pursue the resolution of this matter. On 17.10.23, I received correspondence from Enterprise Rent a Car, stating that they have not received the payment they were due from the third-party insurer, adding to the complexity of the situation. The Enterprise Act 2016 made it an implied term of every insurance contract (taken out since 4 May 2017) that the insurer must pay any sums due in respect of an insurance claim within a “reasonable time”. 1 year and 7 months is not reasonable

Incompetent Clowns Because of raising interest rates I transferred money from my current ISA provider to Tesco Bank, after nearly a month of holding my ISA nothing showed up on my account, after numerous phone calls letters and emails they claim that they do not have my money. My current provider has transferred my ISA to them and this can be proven so I am moving away from Tesco Bank they are nothing but incompetent Clowns Date of experience: 09 September 2023
