“Why do my favourites come and go so much? Very frustrating to try ordering stuff which turns out to be out of stock. (eg Arniston Bay, High Tide red, Bush tales etc). Good value and prices, and helpful staff. Packing my car for me is a blessing. Thank you. I don't find the new website as easy to use as the old one. I really should be giving 4.5/5 !”

“Everything was done quickly and efficiently, from the order confirmation to the Eurotunnel booking and leaving a trolley out loaded with our order for collection. We were a little disappointed that the Shiraz/Mataro Banrock 3-litre boxes all had a use by date of April 2016, as we had ordered a quantity sufficient to last us until June. We will use them but normally the use by dates are at least six months ahead of our pick-up date, so that could be improved. Thank you.”

“New tasting room very nicely set out. We pre-booked our order and felt we got very good value for money good quality wines for Christmas. Many of our friends seem worried about the immigrant problem in Calais but we have reassured many of them that using the ferry especially with a free crossing is still a good day out. See you again in a few months time.”

“my pre- order was ready for me on arrival, trollied up ready to go. I then made further changes, added to and removed other lines. This was done for me by the assistant. I collected the full order later in the day before boarding at the ferry terminal. All went very smoothly. As for the quality of the wine, well they were my choices and so far so good”

“Ordered on line for collection on 22nd October. Staff were very courteous and helpful. The order was ready and waiting at the time I had indicated. They did draw my attention to the short best before date of some of beer I had ordered. I declined to buy it and it was removed without problem from the bill. I have used Calais Wine Superstore several times before and always found them helpful and efficient and would not hesitate to recommend them.”

“My wife and I have been coming over to The Calais Wine Superstore on Booze Cruises at least three times a year for many years now and we have enjoyed ever trip. The variety of wines is immense; the prices are amazingly cheap and the service we get from the whole Team is tremendous. And on top of all that you book and pay for our return Ferry or Eurotunnel crossing to Calais. It’s a win-win situation. One thing is however starting to worry us is that as we usually pay in Euros with our Saga credit card, your prices have gone up considerably recently. For instance, your “Banrock Station Shiraz Mataro” was €3.74 per bottle last November and is now €4.19 – that’s a 12% increase and although it doesn’t cost us any extra when converted to pounds sterling, we are not getting any benefit at all from the improving currency conversion rate. [As another example, how can you justify the price of “Lombard Brut - Epérnay - Multi-buy” going from €18.74 to €20.99 in just a few months? To me, that's just not cricket! ].”

“Have been a customer at Calais Wine store for about 5 years now and find the experience very good. There are good value offers regularly which makes it worth a trip. The shop & staff are always welcoming & nothing is too much trouble. The only negative I have had over this period was the purchase of several boxes of half bottles of Cono Sur earlier this year. I have lost several bottles due to the corks not coming out successfully. As it is sparkling wine it all flows over the top when the cork breaks up. If I push the cork into the wine it goes flat immediately! That said, I will be returning soon!”

“The only reason it did not get very good is that you find a good wine that you like at a good price. You then go back and next time that wine is not in stock. However the tasting room does now help to assist in chosing a good replacement. Their choice of beer could be better as it is a little limited. Apart from this everything else is very good.”

To offer the special prices that we do, It's often because we have negotiated a special one-off deal with suppliers - hence owing to the popularity of those wines, they can go out of stock quite quickly.
