“Visit once or twice a year. There is always excellent service. Wine order always ready for collection when we arrive. If for any reason a wine is not available alternatives of the same type and value are suggested. Even if you pre ordering there is still an opportunity to taste and change wines before buying final choice or even new wines to the order.”

“Since its birth from the ashes of Oddbins Calais operation, Calais Wine Superstore has remained my first call whenever shopping for wine in Calais because their prices are highly competitive for a range of modestly priced wines, some of which are very decent quality and a good majority of which are strong value for money. And it is so conveniently located. What limits my score to four stars is that there are not many mid-priced wines of genuinely better quality - wines that would encourage me to pay, say, £7 to £12 rather than £3 to £7. Two simple examples are red Rioja and white Burgundy, where those in the slightly more expensive range have almost always disappointed me over recent years. Examples on the positive side include Australian chardonnay, where the store has consistently offered a very good range at super prices, and some of the excellent French vins de pays from up-and-coming producers. The lack of mid-to-higher quality wines may well reflect the main demand from the clientele of the business, but does tend to limit my overall spend on the two or three visits I make each year - and, judging from my conversations with other customers and Calais shoppers, I may not be alone in that view.”

“Having been a customer of Oddbins originally and now Calais Wine Superstore since the day it opened, I guess I can almost be described as the most loyal and longest customer. CWSS is difficult to fault: the selection of wines for a start is probably THE best in Calais, and Simon always seems to be able to offer parcels of wine which are excellent value and great drinking. On my frequent visits, I've watched how the business has boomed and developed, and the layout of the store has improved along with the new tasting room, which is excellent. Simon and his staff are always ready to help, whether it be with advice or queries or returns and their willingness to price match is never a question. All in all, CWSS is easily and by far the best wine store in Calais by a large margin, the staff are excellent and helpful, and we know each other so well now that I count them all as personal friends. One only hopes that the current problems at the Port and Eurotunnel with migrants will eventually be sorted out and normality will return to the Calais businesses affected.”

“On the number of occasions we have used the shop in Calais our expreience has been a good one. We appreciate the non pre-order arrangement but in our case this is not a major factor in choosing the Calais Wine Superstore. We have not had the pleasure of trying the Tasting Room yet but look forward to sampling some choice wines in the future. We don.t buy a lot of beer but have noticed the wide range of choice.”

“A good range of decent quality wines at good prices. Opening hours are good and staff very helpful. We use the Coquelles branch on our way back from longer trips to the Auvergne so aren't able to benefit from tunnel or ferry deals. Maybe this is an area Majestic could look at ?”

“Great Place to visit for good value wines. Should be on every day trippers 'must go to' list. One tip, always look for the latest vintages. Don't buy the everyday wines that are 2-3 years old.”

“We love popping in here to pick up our wines. Pre-ordering means we take just a few minutes to visit, pay and load the car. There is a great range of wines offering big savings on UK prices. The staff are always very welcoming, helpful and so well organised. We recently had to cancel collecting our order just a couple of hours prior to our agreed time due to the M20/ Calais crisis. The staff were so understanding and we were soon able to rebook our crossing and collect our original order a week or so later. We feel that we save money and lots of time as order is always waiting for us neatly stacked on a trolley and takes just a few minutes to get here from the tunnel. No hesitation in recommending a regular visit here.”

“I have been a customer for 5 years and always pre-order for collection at c. 3pm on the date required. The order is always ready when I arrive and the CWB team are friendly, helpful and efficient. Mistakes do occur but the checkout procedure at the tills normally identifies these. If any items are out of stock prior to the collection date CWB advise by email and sometimes by phone as well. CWB prices are very competetive and their associated offers eg ferry,eurotunnel,free stock etc and range of wines make them my first choice wine and beer warehouse in the Calais region.”

“An excellent range of wines for everybody's taste. We used the tunnel offer which worked very well,the timing of the trains enabled us to get over and back in the day and allowed us time to have lunch at Cite Europe. The price of the wines was excellent helped by the strong pound against the Euro.We will be back in the Autumn to stock up for winter. Well done. Roger Price.”

“This company is one of the best I have had the pleasure of dealing with. Nothing is ever to much trouble. I am not very good on line, but the website is first class, so is the company if you ring them on a land line. I have been using the Calias wine company for at least 10years now. Never a problem.”

“Calais Wine is a great place to buy wine and the staff are very helpful. You can order in advance and your order is all ready when you arrive using the complementary crossing. I particularly like the fact that there is so much wine to try, so if you have pre-ordered something and then find you like something better, it's easy to change your order. We've bought our wine from Calais Wine for many years - we wouldn't even contemplate going anywhere else because of the great customer service together with the price and quality of the wine.
