“I booked a working holiday to New Zealand ( I am from Canada) to escape the Canadian winter and travel on my gap year. The whole process had its ups and downs but it was really nice having somewhere reliable to go with all of my questions. I do think it streamlined the process, but please understand that planning something like this takes time and effort. It is very worth it though. Even though I have only been here for a month at the time of writing this review, I have done so many cool and wonderful things. To be clear though, things did go wrong, things got delayed, things got changed and substituted and the system isn't perfect. That's life. It isn't going to be perfect, just stay calm and talk about it. Here are some of my tips if you decide to work with Global: Send more emails than you think you need to. I cannot stress enough how key communication is and it is better to ask to many questions than not enough. Being more informed will help get rid of some of the nervousness and anxiety that you will feel. You are not locked into anything. I decided to find my own job and accommodation when I arrived and while there was some stress, it worked out. I can't tell you to have no fear because there were times when I was scared but just know that it will work out. You can always change your mind and whoever the people you have been in contact with are will be able to help you. If you are connecting on flights through different countries, and you intend to leave the airport, buy a preloaded sim card for your phone. I left the airport without one and it was a nightmare trying to get back. Even if you aren't going far, it is worth it.”

“Jenn is great and nice, and GWaT has been helpful. Today orientation was good and better for those staying or living in London. I think it would be helpful to have some more info about the places we are going to as well. I know for big orientation groups it would be hard to address individual places BUT because you have partners, it would be cool to know a bit more about them before working there. Even if from past travellers of that partner”

“I really enjoyed working with Global especially Eimear she was always willing to help answer any questions I had and when there were little hiccups with my trip global were there to help! It was nice having the security and not needing to stress”

“I wasn’t satisfied overall with the service I received from Global Work & Travel for several reasons. However, Julianne was extremely helpful & supportive. She took my calls late at night and was very responsive to emails & messages. She did her best to find me a job in France, when there was very little available for the time frame, I was able to work. I found a nanny agency in Paris and Julianne was in contact with them & advocated for me to be given a position. It was stressful because I didn’t have a confirmed job or accommodation one week before I was supposed to start. I did feel like I was majorly in contact with the agency in regards to accommodation & details of the position. Despite this, everything worked out well and I’m loving my job and life in Paris, it’s such an amazing experience!”

“It has been a roller coaster getting my trip planned. My travel concierge Stacey was wonderful and helped me a great deal with all of my issues and details along the way. I have no criticisms of her as she did a wonderful job. I do feel that there are some improvements that could be made to the global process though. I believe that it should at least be an option to allow people to book their own flights. I believe that global should have a "do it yourself guide" on how to book good flights for people who want it. I thought I had my flight reserved when I paid global, however, because I didn't have my passport yet, they could not book the flight. This lead to a miscommunication and made for a frantic few emails. At the very least, I do not think global should take the money for flights until the moment they intend to book the flight. This is to avoid the confusion I had. Overall I would say that this company did a great job in allowing me to travel on my gap year and help me get everything I needed set up and I would recommend them in the future, but I would also advise new potential travelers to understand that there experience is based on their communication. If you are ever unsure about anything or if you unsure whether or not you are assuming something, please send more emails. The more you converse with your travel team, the better.”
