Ellen was my trip coordinator. Unfortunately, I didn't receive much of a service from her. The first time we scheduled a welcome call, she cancelled it 10 minutes after it was scheduled to begin. The second one we scheduled, she called 90 minutes late. I find the information on the Argentina trip page misleading, as it says GWAT offers visa advice, which then turns out the advice is 'don't get a visa just do a border run.' Despite all of this, I would still recommend doing this trip, as Argentina is fabulous and teaching English here is awesome. The information from GWAT regarding average rental prices in Argentina and average salaries here are completely wrong. Argentina is very well known to have high inflation, GWAT needs to update these prices every month.

Hi Jedd, We are sorry to hear this is how you feel about your recent experience with Global! We have had a look into your trip and can see you booked a call with Ellen and unfortunately she was running a little late with another customer but let you know and if you needed to you could reschedule or if you were happy to wait you could as well. You rescheduled your call to the following week but you missed the call and you then spoke with her the following day. We apologise for any inconvenience with her being late on that first call. Thank you for the feedback about your trip to Argentina, unfortunately inflation is quite a real problem in a lot of countries right now, we will be sure to take this feedback on board to ensure our customers are aware as well. We are really glad to hear that you had a great time on your trip & being in Argentina! Thanks for travelling with Global Work & Travel!

The service I've received from the team at global work and travel hasn't been the best. Before arriving in Ireland for my working holiday everything was sounding promising and good. Since arriving in Dublin the Irish cell phone number they gave me didn't work and was a rigmoral to set up. Secondly the issues with setting up a wise account led me to being locked out of the account with no access to the account. My place of employment for one doesn't accept a wise account,so the drama of setting up and irish bank account has been a nightmare. I've been fortunate enough that the HR team at my place of work have been so helpful in assisting me with getting a bank account sorted as well as the PPS number. Those 3 things were the big selling points as to why I went with global, the irish cell number, bank account and PPS number sorted. I know the company has said they have 24/7 support but I don't feel like I can rely on them when it's needed.

Hello, We are sorry to hear that you feel this way about your recent experience with us! We have passed your feedback on to your Arrival Coordinator who will be in touch. Your sim card should be working, we have a number of travellers who do our Working Holiday Ireland trip and we have not had this issue before, so please let your Arrival Coordinator know the issues so we can look into fixing this ASAP. We also have not had feedback that an employer is unable to pay into a WISE account, we will ask our Partner Relations Team to reach out for information about this! We are sorry that this hasn't been a smooth process for you! Your Arrival Coordinator is there to assist every step of the way for you and will check in with you during your trip but we also have our 24/ emergency line that you can call at any time of the day should you need anything! We want to ensure you are feeling support and our team are here to assist with any questions or support that you need! Thank you again for your feedback and we are sorry that your trip hasn't been as smooth as you were expecting but we are certain that moving forward our team will be able to help resolve any of your issues! Thanks Global Work & Travel!

My coordinator was nice however the overall experience with global work and travel has been anything but. The whole trip felt rushed, unorganised and if I didn’t pay in full it was made out that I would “miss out”. They have no idea where they are sending their clients and do a great job of selling an amazing experience, however, when you land it is all over the place just like the whole planning process.

Hi, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us feedback on your experience with us! We are glad to hear that your Arrival Coordinator was nice but sorry you feel the overall experience has been anything but. We are very surprised to receive your review. Before your arrival you sent a positive email to your Travel Concierge thanking her for her help & support and that everything was organised. Your first job preference was to be working in a pub which is the job we organised for you in advance, just one hour train out of London! After starting your job, we are aware you reached out to your Arrival Coordinator and expressed interest in being an Au Pair instead and we have set up a call with our Au Pair Program Manager to ensure you are feeling supported and giving you some options! We provide a premium level of service to all of our customer and we are sorry if you felt like you didn't receive this experience, please reach out to your Arrival Coordinator with further information so we can look into this for you! In the mean time, our whole team is here to support you while you are on your Working Holiday, please don't hesitate to reach out to us if you need anything at all! Thanks, Global Work & Travel!

I booked the working holiday for Canada and was assigned a trip coordinator. She was helpful at the beginning but after payment was pretty hard to get hold of for advice. We encountered many unexpected costs that were not mentioned in the initial calls. I was charged an extra £400 for a medical exam which I was told I wouldn’t need initially. I was later assigned David as a travel concierge who was supposed to book my flights and find an insurance provider. He quoted ridiculous prices which were double the cost of the flights I had researched. I ended up booking my own flights, but a girl I travelled with was charged £300 extra by Global for the same flight. The only helpful person in this process was Eimear. She went above and beyond for us and was wonderful. She met us when we arrived and helped us to get set up in Canada. Overall, I’m happy with where I have ended up but I would not use this company again.

Hello, We really appreciate you taking the time to leave us an honest review of your experience with Global Work & Travel! All feedback really helps us to improve our service where required! We do offer fully flexible air fares which are more expensive than you see online as you are able to change the flights as needed with no extra fees until they are ticketed. We are sorry if this was not something you wanted to book and we do allow customers to book their own flights if they wish! It's really great to hear that Eimear went above & beyond for you & that she was wonderful in the whole experience! I will be sure to pass this feedback on to her! Once again, thank you so much for your honest review! If you would like to discuss any of your concerns further, please do reach out to your Trip Coordinator, Eimear. Global Work & Travel!

First you pay all this money and they (global) does all this stuff when really they don't. After finished course, which I aced, they did not help set up for interviews or help find a job. Me and some others had to apply ourself and wait for responses and then the pay was not what we were told either. Very disappointed with all the money we shelled out and besides the learing got nothing for it. Will not use Global again.

I would never recommend Global Work and Travel. They turned down the job opportunities I said I wanted and offered me jobs in which I specifically stated I did not want. The emergency line was really the only thing that helped me many many times when I was in need at the beginning of my trip. But the problems I kept running into would not have happened if I had done them myself or the team communicated with me better. I now have the confidence, knowledge and all the mishaps that occurred this time for the next time I travel to do it by myself.

Hi there, Thank you for your review and we are sorry to hear that you feel this way about your experience with us. In terms of your job interviews, this is not something we turn down on your behalf. We always work towards our customers preferences about job types & location preferences, however it is purely down to our partners if they wish to interview you or if unfortunately they don't have a suitable opportunity for you. In the lead up to your arrival, we will put you forward to our partners in line with your first work preference, if these partners don't want to interview you or have a suitable role (which is what would have happened in this case) we then move on to your second work preference. Once again, we are sorry to hear you feel this way but your Arrival Coordinator will still be here for the rest of your trip if you need anything. Thanks, Global Work & Travel

They offer a lot and it sounds great but when I spoke to them on the phone they were very pushy in having me pay the deposit that day, inappropriate in asking me specifically how much money I had in savings, and spoke to me very condescendingly about my savings and the need to pay the deposit that day.

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. Feedback like this helps us grow and develop as a company. We're sorry if you feel that our Work & Travel Experts may have crossed a line during your conversation. However, from what we've gathered from your review, we think we can explain why. As uncomfortable as it may be, we need to discover where our travellers are sitting financially. It would be irresponsible of us and a breach of our duty of care to book people on trips who can't afford it. This is why our Work & Travel Experts have to discover this information. It is part of the qualification process. As far as the deposit goes, all of our trips have very strict availability. Quite often we do have travellers miss out on going when they want to go, or even at all, simply because they didn't act fast enough. On a more personal level, we see travellers time and time again miss out on going on their dream trips because they don't take the first step. This isn't just our travellers, but also our friends, family members and even ourselves. If you keep putting off a trip, it has a tendency to stay put off. We know this, and this is why we're enthusiastic about getting people started straight away. Because then it makes it real. Even still, if you're able to send through some details about yourself to feedback@globalworkandtravel.com we will be able to pass the feedback through to the Work & Travel Expert that you spoke to, to ensure it doesn't happen again. We hope that your experience with us, in this case, has not soured your opinion of us as a company. As we would love to help put together your dream trip! However, if it has, we will you all the luck in the world with your travel aspirations in the future.

Honestly I’m not quite sure what just happened it was so confusing I was on the phone for an hour and I did make a deposit still not feeling too sure with this company if it’s a scam or not. I did give them my credit card details as I felt pushed to they didn’t give me time to make a decision if I really wanted this or not as they were saying the spots get taken up fast so act now or miss out. once off the phone I realised I didn’t know the dates of my trip, where exactly I was going, what I was actually paying for, if I would get a refund and etc. - ABT (Anonymous Beginner Traveler)

Hello, We are so sorry that you have this impression of our company. We never want to rush our travellers into things they don't want to do. Our trips do fill up quickly and we have had travellers miss out, this is why our Work & Travel Experts work really hard to get you over the line. What we can do is ensure you that you have absolutely nothing to worry about. We are absolutely not a scam. You can take a look through our thousands of other reviews from happy travellers to prove it. Shortly you will be contacted by your Trip Coordinator. They will go through all of the information about getting you over on your trip. If you aren't able to go when you talked about then your deposit comes with a Lifetime Guarantee. Meaning you can push your trip back for as long as you like, or put your deposit towards any other of our trips. We know that it can be a little bit daunting, and that it seems like a really big decision. But we can promise you made the right one, and we're going to be there every step of the way.

Hello, We're sorry you feel this way. I know it can feel a little bit like this. However, generally, this is due to the fact all of our spots go on a first-in first-served basis. However, I will pass on your feedback to our Work & Travel Experts.

So i got a working holiday visa for Canada. It was definitely great to have someone guide me through the process as i was only 19 when i applied and had no idea how to do it on my own. But just going to talk to a lawyer would be MUCH cheaper and actually worth your money. They helped set up my flight to Canada and to the location to my first job, but going to a new location, it was apparently not expected of them to help with the travel there, until i asked and was directed to different people. I have not spoken to anyone from Global for over a year and half as i was better at finding a job myself that wasn't at a hotel. My coordinator also changed multiple times throughout the trip as people moved onto different careers. Good for them. Heres a helpful tip, get yourself a visa, SIN number, bank account and phone number. You're welcome i just saved you 2 grand.

Hi there, We're sorry to hear you feel this way about your experience with us. We truly get disappointed when we hear feedback like this, as it goes against our organisation’s vision and purpose. Our services are offered so that our Travellers can arrive in the country with the confidence that they are one step ahead of every other traveller starting off on their working holiday journey. We take care of all the logistical details and save people time, stress, the risk of returning home early and especially money. We've looked into your feedback & travel history, and can see that our system shows that you were helped with your visa, SIN number, bank account, phone number, a job opportunity, a sightseeing tour and initial hostel accommodation, plus more. We encourage you to email feedback@globalworkandtravel.com as we would like to learn more about why you were not satisfied with the service provided to you.

Enjoyed being with global at the start where they were helping me out with the visa, passport and finding me a job. I felt very supported and courage before leaving my country. Till.... I stayed at Vancouver for 6 nights and they didn't let me know that I had to pay for it otherwise I would have dealt with it before check out time. At the very last minute I had to organize my own flights and bus to my final destination, rather than having my trip coordinator to help me out. It really freaked me out as I was travelling alone for the first time and I was 19 years. I felt that once I had arrived to Vancouver, I was left in the dark, no communication, no idea what I was suppose to do, thankfully I made some good friends from the hostel who were able to help me out. In the end, I would probably tell people to do global, but to really pressurize your coordinator before leaving your country so that you can have a peaceful time away til your final destination. And to make sure they have tonnes of money put aside in case of emergencies happen like it happened to me.

Hi Emilia, Our services are designed to save our customers lots of money, time and stress, and our 40,000+ customer base and growing make us one of the most travelled gap year companies in the world. Our overall rating and reviews from real, past customers is a testament to our excellent service, so we're very saddened to receive this review and very sorry that you feel this way about your experience with us. As has been previously explained to you, we provide everyone with the same service as our website, and reps advise from day 1. airport transfer & 4 nights of hostel accommodation is included for jet lag recovery and we will extend your stay ourselves only if you have not yet received your job opportunity, However, since you received your job opportunity before you had left home, as our service promises to do, you were not eligible for the accommodation extension and we apologise if there was any miscommunication on either end. We want to investigate all aspects of your complaint, as we thrive on feedback to make our trip experiences the best possible, and much better than our competition. Please feel free to contact us on feedback@globalworkandtravel.com so we can try rectify what you felt went wrong. Thank you.

I booked my travel months ago and I leave in 7 days. At first they were going to send me over for 4 weeks when I asked for 3 weeks and they also over priced me. Then, I had trouble with my flights and payments but once everything was sorted and all payed for I was told someone would be in contact with me before I leave and I still haven’t heard anything from anyone which makes me uncomfortable and uncertain about my trip. My documents are scattered everywhere throughout different emails between two different people and it has made me very stressed. And now whenever I email someone to ask them a question it feels as though I am bugging them and they don’t have the time for me anymore. I don’t think I will be travelling again through Global Work & Travel Co.

Throughout the booking process they are very pushy for you to pay everything quickly. They are super excited and encouraging and lure you in but as soon as youre all paid up you become a bit forgotten. After paying the initial $2000 I had to hassle Global to help with my flights, job hunt and insurance which is all part of the service you pay for. I was repeatedly ask to pay for things twice, my coordinators changed almost weekly and there was an overall vibe of being scammed. Despite this I was eager for my working holiday so I paid up. Once in Canada I was helped by Global (admittly quite well) with advice for setting up my phone and bank account. Myself and a group of other travellers were dropped off at the bank and left to our own devices, no one stayed incase we had further questions and we had to make our own way to set up our phones and SIN. Once set up at my summer job I received one email checking how I was. Luckily for me I didnt need to go through the struggle of finding another job for winter. However, some of the people I met told me they had been messed around, lied to or simply dropped by the company and told to figure it out themselves. This company gets you excited and takes advantage of the spontaneous nature of eager travelers. Please save your money, do your research and either go through somewhere else or do it yourself.

Hi Amy, we’re sorry to feel this way about your experience with us back in 2016. We have however looked into your travel history and feedback and can confirm that Alex was then, and still is your Arrival Coordinator. You may be confusing your Coordinator with your Travel Concierge and Travel Agent, who changed once during your trip duration. We can advise that our system shows that you received visa support from November 2016 to January 2017 and that you received and interviewed for your first job opportunity almost 4 months in advance to your arrival. You then needed to move your arrival date back so we accommodated for that, by rearranging your orientation and making sure your free nights of accommodation could be used at a later date. We do use presentations and a map at orientation to show you where to go to get your Insurance Number and phone, because it simply isn’t possible to go with you to the government office and electronics stores for logistical reasons. All travellers are different, they go at their own pace to get things sorted but we encourage them to come back and catch up with their Coordinators once they have been to the other spots which are all within walking distance of the office - they even keep the office open until 6:30pm to allow for travellers to have enough time to come back after. Your Coordinator Alex emailed in to check in after you had started your job opportunity to ask for your local phone number on June 2nd 2017, which you responded to over a month later on July 7 to say that you were loving it and settling in well. Our system also shows that you were sent multiple emails between July and September (due to never receiving your local number), to which you only responded to confirm your hostel booking. We have have no response from you since then. Please feel free to contact us on feedback@globalworkandtravel.com so we can try rectify what you felt went wrong. Thank you.

Spoke to a guy on the phone, so rude and nasty. Tried to get a deposit out of me, called me out on the fact I need to speak to my parents! I'm 17 and they tried to bully a deposit out of me! Lucky enough i'm heading overseas without Global. I have read so many bad reviews. Awful company!! STAY AWAY!!
