“Tools are excellent and "just what it said on the tin". Service information is first class describing a delivery which was for me rather slow. Ended well though and I'm a happy bunny”

“Everything was excellent from browsing the site to the quality of the tools except the price of delivery.i can’t see why you should pay the same price for delivery of a 2kg parcel as you would a 20kg parcel,sorry to be negative because other than that the service was excellent”

Thanks for taking the time to feedback and we're glsad everything arrived safely. Just for openness and honesty, the reason for the flat rate shipping tiers is because that's how couriers opperate - to them it is still a 'parcel' which an individual is able to handle on their own, hence the price being fixed up to 30KG. It is still a booking, an allocation, a collection and a delivery. Since it is domestic delivery (rather than by air), it costs them the same to transport a buffing wheel as it does a small lathe and so it costs us the same too. I hope that helps clarify things. “Delivery and product were excellent, I would have rated 5* but for delivery charges, as I expect delivery to be free when I spend say 30 pounds or more as is now normal with other suppliers. The delivery charges make the toolpost rather expensive. Additionally there goods were delivered in cardboard box that was at least 5 times bigger than was necessary and this then had to be packed out with plastic bubble wrap and paper, what a waste and I had to get rid of this excess packaging.”

Good morning and thank you for your feedback - we're glad everything arrived safely and quickly. I think it is worth saying that free delivery on a £30 order would actually lose us money (ultimately putting us out of business and thus of no service to anyone) - we all have to protect margins to cover salaries, rents, business rates and also the very charges which we incur for shipping, on which we make a nominal ammount to cover time for staff to pick, pack, book and ship the items. I also appreciate that packaging can sometimes appear to be overkill, however we recycle 95% of all packaging we receive to reduce wastage and as a result sometimes we use a lager box than neccessary - this does not affect the shipping cost, since ANY UK order upto 30kg is charged at a flat rate of £7.85 for next day courier/tracked delivery - we believe this is fair and reasonable. The alternative is to provide free shipping and increase product prices, but we don't believe this is fair or honest. The cost of shipping has to be covered somewhere in the system, and we feel this is the most open way of doing so as a retailer (manufacturers obviously have more room to play). Thanks again and we hope to be able to serve you again in the future.

“the ordering was easy and the delivery very swift - no signing for delivery though even though it said there would be a need - parcel was just left in the carport- it would have been nice to have a card to at least tell us the delivery had been made”

“No issues with The Tool post themselves however the courier service they use leaves a lot to be desired. In view of the delivery issues experienced I will look at alternative suppliers who do offer next day delivery at little or no additional cost”

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and for the kind words for the team. Such is the nature of shipping, the cost has to be covered somewhere, either in the item price or as stand alone charges, since the service does not come for free. I would love to be able to offer free or discounted shipping, though sadly, retail margins do not allow for these to be covered in a sustainable business model... We continually work to identify means to offer best value for customers, whilst also ensuring that should something go wrong with shipping, we can track and resolve this ASAP - this is only possible using premium rate services. There are other services available which we have considered, but none offered the expedited assistance we were looking for when problems do arise. Unfortunately sometimes we do experience issues on delivery, but this is fewer than 4% of all orders. I do however understand that if you are in that small percentage it can be very frustrating, though I hope you appreciate we always do everything we can to resolve these issues with our logistics team quickly and effectively.

“Overall a good service. The products were fairly priced, and the delivery time was fine. I would advise however that the message that customers receive immediately after placing an order, which dedicates more than half of the text to potential problems with delivery be toned down somewhat, as it does give the impression that problems are likely. I had no problems whatsoever, but felt a little anxious until the package arrived. Will use The ToolPost again myself, and recommend to others.”
