“The tools that were delivered were as ordered and well packaged, on this and their response to an e-mail enquiry would warrant a 5 star rating, but I am giving 4 as there was a confusion of information about delivery, I received an e-mail telling me about delivery and giving a link so that I could follow the delivery but all that this would tell me was that the item had been picked up. I ordered these at the same time as I ordered from two other firms each of the others reached me 3 days before the toolpost order. Get rid of the e-mail notification or get it working for that last star.”

“Good range of products available and in stock. Despatched promptly and well packaged. Price seems fair too so I shall come back to The Toolpost for those hard to find products that enable me to enjoy using my workshop.”

“4 if the 5 pieces were quite nicely figured but 1 was very plain (& also rectangular not square - which is possibly worse for turning but not my intended purpose). Nice wood but 2-3mm oversized (OK for turning but not good for my purpose).”

“When I opened the parcel it looked ‘pathetic’. Item purchased as a gift. I’ll wait to see what recipient thinks! Also told it would arrive Tuesday to be signed for. It arrived Wednesday not in specified time slot and no need for signature. Somewhat disappointing so far”

Good afternoon and thanks for your feedback. The Flexcut SK110 carving set is sold in that format from all retailers. I'm sorry you feel it is 'pathetic' (albeit a very high quality set of tools) - I will happily pass on any feedback you have to the manufacturer? "Really expensive"? Economies are always subjective and sadly we get charged a flat rate by our courier consolidator - anything up to 30kg is £7.85 which is a subsidised cost. Any orders upto £30 in value are shipped at a flat rate of £5.58 as we demand services which are insured to protect both you and us should issues arrise. Shipping costs are on the rise and we are already doing what we can to contain these. Of course, our shipping costs are not just “shipping charges”, it is the time, effort and resource for staff to pick the items from the shop floor, pack and book your order, invoice the items, along with packaging materials – we make nothing on our shipping (indeed we make a loss). These are all adiditonal tasks to those required for customers whom walk into store. We have debated offering free or substantially lower cost shipping by increasing prices elsewhere which is what a certain large retailer does across the board, selling above RRPs to then offer free shipping, but we see this current option as the most transparent approach for our customers – and is then also better value for those shopping here in-store. Thanks for your feedback and we will certainly continue to look at ways to make shipping more cost effective on small orders.

Thank you for your feedback and we're glad everythign arrived in good time. The plastic bushes are the only feesible means for bushing a 1.1/4" bore 'composite' wheel as the bush needs to have some 'give', so as not to stress the structure unduly. You will notice if you remove the bushes that the core of the wheel is also sleeved, which gives more than enough support for the bushes, which in themselves are very strong. We have had some of ours mounted for over 10 years without any issue and indeed this design has stood the test of time since the first wheels were conceived by Mick O'Donnell many decades ago. “Toolpost service was very good, was t sure exactly what I needed, but the helpful lady went through everything and I ordered the kit. Sadly they were let done by their carrier Parcel Force who were 3 days late delivering, and on the second shipment 24hrs early. I did complain, Toolpost were very helpful again, in fact one of their senior managers came back. Great service and product is good, but what is a well run company is let done by the customer facing carrier.”

“Purchased a stepped light pull drive and drill bit. Service was good but I did think the delivery was a bit much, carrier was yodel who are useless. Drill bit broke on second project, contacted toolpost and they were again good and despatched a replacement which arrived the following morning by Royal Mail. This did make me think why didn’t they deliver this way on the original order, quicker and cheaper!”

Good morning. We're glad the replacement drill arrived. The reason we don't use Royal Mail si that the insurance for our products and our customers isn't up to what we expect - as ever, you get what you pay for. Everything is fine until it's not, and then it's a real headache with Royal Mail. For goods with a value of upto £30 we use Yodel, but for anything over £30 and under 30kg it's a fixed charge of £7.85 and is handled by Parcel Force. Over the past 20 years we have dealt with many handlers, and thus far, Parcel Force are the most effective and versitile. I hope this clarifies things.
