Hopeless!!! Paid £175 for a what was described as a"no problem simple service" and after 6 phone calls with the promise of a "Call back tomorrow" 12 weeks later I finally got my watch back. Nothing done to it, no repair, no service and no apology. It seems it takes 12 weeks to find out they cant do this model of Seiko ! What a joke -- avoid at all costs !!

I took my Tag Heuer Carrera watch to the Glasgow branch to get a service and some repair work done. The original leather strap is still on the watch having purchased it 12 years ago. I asked for the service and repair work and to replace the leather strap. The watch was away for 10 weeks and I received a phone call saying it was ready to pick up. When I got to the shop the strap had not been replaced. The employee I was dealing with admitted it was their oversight. The only resolution he offered was to send the watch away again for up to 4 weeks and to charge me £295 for the strap. I obviously complained about this awful service and demanded that they compensate me in some way to make up for this oversight. I was told I would have to phone their customer services department at head office myself and in the mean time send the watch away again. Surely the employee should take it upon himself to remedy this situation and offer some sort of compensation! I refused to give this cowboy outfit any more business and took my watch away. I walked down to Argyle Arcade and spoke to someone at Laings who took my details and said they would call me on Monday once they were able to speak to Tag Heuer directly regarding the replacement strap. They came back to me with a price of £80 vs the £295 that the Watch Lab tried to fleece me for. I hate to think how much I have paid over the odds for the watch service and repair. And Laings are able to replace the strap in store with no need to send the watch away for a ridiculous period of time!

We went into The Watch Lab in York and was greeted by a friendly man. We had a Nixon belonging to my boyfriend which needed a battery replacing. I didn't know much about the watch and so was shocked to hear the repair would cost £49. I said thank you and that I would reconsider after doing some more research into the watch, which seemed fair to me. However at this point the repair man behind the counter rudely interrupted to ask why I didn't want to buy the repair. I explained, but he then went on to argue Nixon would be more expensive and the watch was worth £300 and needed better care. I found it incredibly rude he would interrupt a conversation I was having with his colleague to pressure me into buying the repair. We left, and upon doing further research we learnt the watch is not worth £300, in fact this is double its actual worth. Similarly, Nixon do these repairs for free, with a pressure test, polish and shipping estimate included. Even if you were willing to pay extra money to get the repair done, rudeness towards customers is never acceptable. The google reviews for the York branch second my opinion; they constantly refer to rude staff and overpricing.

Just recently collected my fathers Tiara vintage swiss watch that I originally took in for a new dial .. but ended up in a full restoration that took 18 months. The duration of repair was somewhat irrelevant to means it was always about the quality of the end result, and I have to say I am blown away by the watch I got back. It is like brand new. My father died 10 years ago, and the memory of this watch is one of the clearest I have so to have it back in working condition as something I can occasionally wear is more than I hoped for. Thanks so much to Lorna from the Chester branch of The Watch Lab and to all the other people who must have been involved but I did not directly meet. Very very pleased.

I had my watch fully serviced at the watch lab just over 4 years ago at a cost of a few pounds under £400. This included a full service which I have been told was then around £195, a new glass, new dials and a new time adjuster piece. I have been told that the minimum I should expect from a service before another service is required is 5 to 7 years. I am now at less than 5 and have been told a new service would be £295 as service costs have gone up. By 33%!!!! That's some inflation! So I get less than the minimum out of a service and the Watch Lab want a hugely inflated price to re-service. Will never use this company again. Poor quality work and prices that are eye watering!

I bought a brand new watch from Hugo Boss and took it to The Watch Lab have some links taken out as it was too large. 4 days after having the links taken out, one of the pins fell out and my watch separated. I took the watch back to the store to get repaired, where I was told my the extremely unhelpful store manager that the pin falling out was not covered by my 8 week guarantee. I asked if they would not be able to knock a new pin in quickly (I had managed to secure the watch for several days by placing a staple where the pin was, but this was not a long term solution), as a gesture of goodwill. I am a loyal customer and had used them previously in the past. I was told that they would not be able to offer a goodwill gesture as this would open them up to further liability if the watch broke again. I disputed this in the store, but was told by the Store Manager "It's not my fault you broke your watch". I have since taken the watch to a local repair shop, and the owner told me that the job and repair was so small, he would feel bad taking my money for doing it. The Watch Lab could learn a lot from an honest, local businessman who has now gained a lifelong customer, while they have lost one.

My Seiko watch strap was repaired by the staff in Reading. Ed Ellis was very professional and explained exactly what they would do and how much it would cost. The repair was well done, on time and at the cost promised. I will use them again.

I was estimated £295 for a full service which I paid upfront. Then called two weeks later to be told I had only be given an estimate and the price was wrong. I was told it should be £600 for a full service and £120 for a broken part. Numerous arguments I was offered a £40 reduction. I was told to follow procedure of an online complaint, with no reply. Then spoke to a 'director' who was forcing either pay the money or have the watch back. I got the watch back and it is being serviced and repaired in half the time by the manufacturers for 44% less than the watchlab. £405 all in thank you Fraser and Hart Bromley. I can't work out if it is a scam or just ignorance either way most unpleasant resolution, poor training from management I guess.

My Longines had not been working for some time and I decided to take it in. I am absolutely delighted with the result. It was given a totally new Longines movement and is working perfectly . I also had a lovely new strap and my beloved watch looks fantastic. If you have a premium watch that is not working then I would suggest you give them a try. Not cheap but worth every penny if you have a quality watch.

I took my wife's watch in to the York branch which is a Maurice Lacroix watch as it needed a replacement movement fitting as I had foolishly had a cheap movement fitted but hadn't worked. The watch lab sorted it out brilliantly with professionalism and I got the watch back gleaming and felt although it cost a lot to get the work done it has been worth every penny thank you watch lab I would definitely use you again

I have recently used the services of The WATCH Lab in Bromley where my Seiko Quartz was fitted with a new battery and resealed. Not only was I most impressed with the speed and efficiency of the work carried out, but especially impressed with the Manager Franky Wooders' excellent customer relations. I felt his whole attitude both to me as customer and to his colleagues to be quite exceptional and a most welcome in this day and age. He has an excellent manner and is using it very much to the advantage of The WATCH Lab. I would not hesitate to return and will certainly recommend this branch. Phil Robins

Very efficient friendly staff in the Nottingham Intu Branch. They were able to send my Jaeger Lecoultre watch to their head lab and also offered to have it ' Spring cleaned' for half the usual price. The time quoted was 7-10 working days. Spot on for timing with no delays and I am delighted with the service and clean. Looks brand new again. Will definitely be using them again even for my not so expensive purchases and watch repairs. Thanks all for such a reliable service
