I spent the better part of £30 on a Hydrangea called Vanilla Fraise for my Mum, who has been after one for years. It's to mark the end of something extremely bad for her, so I was delighted to find what is supposed to be by now a mostly pink plant at such a mature stage. Except it was white. Ten blooms, one in the bottom of the box, all white, with barely a hint of pink. During a phone call I was told this is because it's so late in the season... except that being so late in the season is exactly why it's should be so pink. Then I was told that it's because it needs to be put in its final growing place. Really though? Because this is a mature plant in a 12ltr pot, so what if we just put it in a different pot? It should still already be turning pink, not matter where it is being grown, and you're speaking to someone with qualifications in all this, not some wet behind the ears idiot. Now, the only reason I could figure to give two stars is because after being on the edge of losing my temper I was told that another would be sent to replace it, because I'm not happy with the first. This is a good thing to do, except that the new one has arrived in an opened, squashed box, that the Hermes chap tells me they always do, except actually I have to say that the last one was in a perfect box. The plant however... it has several snapped stems, and is barely pinker than the last :( The mockery of it is made even more apparent by how pink the blooms are in the photo on the plant. If you want to spend £30 on a white Hydrangea that has the smallest hint of pink, that will have broken stems, and possibly an open and bashed up box, go for it. If you want something that looks as advertised, buy it from somewhere you can see it in bloom!

Received plants during winter and outside growing season. I therefore gave them time to grow. Most garden centres give 1 to 3 years guarantee. I contacted then after 11 months only to be told, despite spending £30 on the plants they give no guarantee

Ordered some plug plants. Badly packaged with just plastic on one side and not protected on the other, then put into thin cardboard sleeve, so they were squashed and also incorrectly labelled so had to check online to see which plant was which by identifying leaves. Took six days to arrive. Absolute rubbish.

Very disappointed with T&M. Purchased a 1 x 10 litre potted Amelanchier lamarckii Plant for £34.99. It was ordered on May 18th and delivered whilst I was away on holiday early July when the order said would be delivered by end of July. As it sat in a box for around a week it wasn’t looking it’s best and I reported it to customer services. Maybe I read it wrong but I expected it to arrive towards the end of the month when I would have been around to receive it. Their response was.... The order states 'Dispatch by the end of July'. This means it could be dispatched any time in July. The 2 week grace period would be if it arrived 2 weeks before July, or 2 weeks after July. As it is a grace period either side of the estimated dispatch date. If the ordered stated 'Dispatching at the end of July' then of course, we would be liable. However it states 'dispatch by the end of July', Unfortunately, we are not liable for the plant loss as this was dispatched in the correct time frame and wasn't out of the grace period. It was delivered in July, as stated. I sent them Photographs which they say have been passed to their horticulturists who advise it looks healthy and they are not concerned. Sadly I don’t agree it is losing more and more leaves daily and to be honest is quite small for what I have paid, only around 18” tall. Crocus are advertising the same tree today but 5 feet tall in a 9 litre pot for exactly the same price so I am going to cut my losses and order that. Customer service, loose delivery information that do not work to the best interest of the customer and value for money have let T&M down on this occasion.

They don’t reply to emails, they have an expensive customer service number and when called you are “helped” by someone who obviously has no clue what they are doing! You wait 2 weeks, email and call multiple times to at the end to be told that the item you ordered is out of stock. Absolutely ridiculous and time wasters! This company is appealing and should not be allowed to do business. I am promised a refund now, so let’s see if this happens without me having to open a dispute with Paypal.

You won't be growing much if you order from T&M. I ordered an in stock Acer and received confirmation stating it would be despatched within 5 days. Two weeks later nothing at all. Followed iup and was told it was now out of stock. Bye-bye T&M!

DO NOT ORDER from this company. Advertise special offers and then don’t deliver the plants. Plants arrive a lot later than they say they will and not in a very good state. Only 2 out of the 5 bulbs I ordered actually germinated.

The products are rubbish. Seeds are poor to germinate. For example of cougettes and cucumbers I had some packets where not one single seed germinated. These are not hard to grow. Also beware you will be SPAMMED FOREVER with junk email . I have asked over and over to be taken off the list but they still send out a minimum of ONE EMAIL A DAY. pushing a load of junk I do not want.

There have been problems with all three orders I made with Thompson and Morgan, their plants take months to arrive and are VERY poor quality. A case in point, I ordered 12 Orchid roots and was contacted weeks later to say the order could only be partially completed. I received 8 tiny Orchid roots and only 3 have actually grown after two months of careful nurturing. I ordered hanging basket plants which came dry and squashed, many have not grown into plants and are still very puny. I also ordered 2 Begonias which never arrived and I was sent an email again saying that the order couldn't be completed, after numerous phone calls to customer services after each order, all I have received is a £5 voucher - I will NOT be using this as I am so disgusted with the substandard products and customer service of this company. DO NOT BUY FROM THOMPSON AND MORGAN. I need to add that the images on their website look nothing like the plants you receive, they show wonderfully blooming and healthy plants, what actually arrives is vastly different and not worth planting.

I placed an order online on 27/5/19 for 3 agapanthus plants which were advertised for delivery by the end of June. I received an email thanking me for my order and a link to track the progress of the order online. On 3/6/19 I checked the progress of the order and the displayed despatch date was 7/8/19 ! Not only that, but when I sent an email to their customer services querying the change of despatch date on 3/6/19, they failed to reply after 17 days despite their email response advising that they would respond within 14 days. So I rang their customer services on 20/6/19 and spoke to a lady who was unable/unwilling to give any explanation for the discrepancy but merely agreed to my request for a refund and offered an unconvincing and insincere apology. This was the first time I've ordered from T&M and it will be my last.

The website is very misleading, they haven’t rectified this as a manager had previously advised to me! I Have been a customer for 6 years + all of my orders this year have been unexpectedly cancelled with no communication for T&M. They have also been delivered late, wrong items sent, plants have arrived in a terrible condition or not even been delivered by the courier, even when they have told T&M they have. This is not the service I expected to receive after being a customer for several years or been promised by a manager on several occasions they would be delivered by XX date and still didn’t arrive on time. In the future I would urge people take the time to visit and support a local garden centre to purchase good quality plants, as T&M do not provide this. My final straw was this week when i again had to speak with a customer care advisor. Yesterday MARK: was not prepared to listen to a extremely dissatisfied customer and the frustrating experience I have repeatedly received over the past few months from this company. YOU CALLED A CUSTOMER RUDE! YOU PUT THE PHONE DOWN ON ME!!!! THIS IS NOT PROFESSIONAL!!! AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!!!

I ordered what I thought were giant red geraniums, the plants that arrived were very weak, in fact it was touch and go with 2 of the five, but I grew them on and now that they are flowering they aren't giant ones and they aren't RED, they are pink!

I placed an order with Thompson and Morgan on 7th Feb 2019. The seeds arrived ok but that was the only positive. The plants that I ordered some in pots some in plugs were due for delivery in March. Made numerous phone calls and delivery went back to early April, then after several phone calls (these lasting 20 minutes and more) probably due to other persons complaining the delivery went back to late April This was repeated for May and so I cancelled the plug plant order as I believed it was too late for plug plants. After numerous complaints a tomato plant arrived which I don't believe was the correct cultivar and not the total order (3 ordered) and the paperwork indicated that the order was complete. I received a credit but this of no use as I wanted the plants. I have sent them an email but no response so far. Thompson & Morgan claim to be "experts in the garden since 1855" ,if this is correct in my opinion they have definitely gone down hill fast.

Useless company. Read rest of posters comments. The sooner they go bankrupt due to very poor customer service, the better so that no more people are ripped off by BVG Group.
