I placed an order in Feb 2021 for 72 Perennial Plug plants to be delivered End of March. I am still waiting for my order, despite contacting customer services and being asured I would have it by End of April. Then looking on the My order dection of their website estimated delivery date 25 April 2022. I also ordered 24 Aquiliga, delivery sent out 3 May, I got them 12 May, half were dead and the rest not worth planting. I am still waiitng for a response to my complaint, I sent photos of the atrocious plants if they could be called plants I will never use them again

Ordered two hydrangea plants, what eventually arrived were appalling. The packaging was smashed, the pots were broken, one plant had three bare twigs, the other had soggy roots that were disintegrating, and the leaves were drying out. They refused to honour their 100% satisfaction guarantee and told my husband that the plants would recover. I doubt it. Had I seen these pathetic specimens on a reduced shelf at a garden centre for 50p I wouldn't have bought them, the order was around £20 in total. Recently I have seen beautiful hydrangeas at both a well known discount store and at one of the top four supermarkets, beautiful healthy looking established plants for a lot less money in the long run. I will never buy from Thompson and Morgan again.

I just read the posted reviews, I was beginning to think I had the kiss of death. Bought a selection of seeds last year waste of time and money, so tried again this year, again a selection the usual suspects tomatoes, runner beans etc, out of two packets of scarlet emperor runner beans I got 6 seedlings, the seeds I bought from suttons have all germinated and doing well. Will take my business to sutton next year, list of seeds required already written.

I gave up on T&H some years ago after I began to find their seeds very unreliable as to germination. More recently I received plug plants from Suttons that were useless as they were dried and mostly shaken out of the tray - no packaging at all - see photo. I've recently discovered that several major gardening related companies, including these, are now owned by BVG - The two above plus Dobies, Van Meuwen, Garden gear, Organic Gardening Catalogue, Happy Breaks, Waltons Garden Buildings and Mercia Garden products. Prospective buyers are advised to check reviews of all the above before placing orders.

Have to agree with the comments below, dreadful company. I ordered 3 plants and paid via visa, but confirmatory email said I'd joined the gardening club for £10! I rang, complained and was refunded, so I reordered the plants. Visa statement arrived today and I've been charged twice for the plants, which I'm still waiting for, a month on, despite website saying immediately available. Foolishly placed an order for some shrubs, which were tiny and an insult for the price, they were rammed on top of each other and broken to pieces. Rang again and complained and was offered a refund on 2 and a replacement for the third (a lorapetalum). I was furious that I then found a lorapetalum at the local garden centre, x5 times bigger for half the price. I will never order anything from them again. Total rip off.

Think twice! They send tiny plants that you could grow quicker from seed

Avoid these scammers...they take your money and don't have stock to deliver Terrible experience with these scammers who promised the plants I ordered were to be dispatched within 24 hours when I put them in my cart and even emailed me a confirmation of that 24 hour dispatch. This is far from the truth. The 7 which were supposed to be dispatched within 24 hours have still not been dispatched 20 days later. 1 plant was supposed to be dispatched 7 days later and they finally posted an update on my order online saying it would be delivered in August! No message to me, nothing, just wrote a note on my order online, thinking its on me to search for that info. Based on being told that most of the plants would be dispatched within 24 hours I dug holes in my garden to prepare for planting the trees and shrubs and now am left with a big mess and dreadful customer service from the thieving Thompson & Morgan. I was told by first phone staff at T&M that I could not speak with supervisor after I requested escalation of the issue! A supervisor called me and left a message on my phone offering £20 refund for the inconvenience and said he would call back to discuss the order. Its 16 days later and have never heard back from him and I have written several emails to customer service team who ignore my questions and just keep insisting that they shipped out compost and fertiliser and support stakes for the tree, even after I cancelled them as I don't need that with no plants do I?Now I have huge bags of compost and feed and big stakes and poles but no plants. They only reply to tell me to send back the bags of compost and they will refund me. I have asked for my refund more than 10days ago and still have no refund. I asked for itemisation of my bill and what they are refunding to get this over as quickly as possible and have heard nothing back. They are still holding my money. I email every day or 2 and ask to speak with a supervisor and they ignore the request. Silence. The phone service is so rude when you ask to speak to a supervisor to sort thru this nonsense, I do not want to experience that again. I even wrote to the holding company Branded Garden Products but have had no reply. All in all a disaster for this years plantings. Go to Waitrose Garden online instead, they delivered great plants to me in 2 days! We don't need to give our money to companies like this who don't value their customers and instead abuse us. I will never order from these scammers again. Thompson and Morgan, refund my money now!

Delivery times are getting worse I have ordered dahlias that should have come in 3 weeks on the 1 st March now have a letter saying won’t be despatched until 9th of April. This is the very last chance they had with me. The customer service on the phone is practically non existent. I will now shop elsewhere in future

Just joined in Feb this year , but delivery's by Hermes are terrible . But worst of all I started to receive letters from Stena chair lifts Pension and best of all from a rival garden company . The only company who had my name and adress was tom and morgan . I contacted them to ask if they had sold my details they had , they said I had not opted out . In fact I had by phone but still they sold my details , bad for a so called reputable company

Ordered a plant as a gift, not arrived after 6 weeks. No communication from Thompson staff, I have had to call and email to get updates on my order. Promised my order would be prioritised, but after 10 days still no update on delivery. Called them again to be told it'll be dispatched within 14 days. different reason for the lateness each time I contact them - latest is that they are waiting for the plant to grow (??). Poorly run company - keep offering vouchers to use against a future order - really? You expect me to order from you again?? Despite my requests for a senior or manager to call me, they are yet to do so.

Worst company ever dealt with, slow dispatch and very slow delivery (you’ll be waiting longer than a week for your stuff) - £4.99 for delivery? Shocking when many places offer £4.99 for SAME day delivery - outrageous.

Plants did not arrive in time scale stated in their ad. One due in 3 days arrived 7 weeks later after emailing them. Apparently “lost by the carrier”. One advertised in 3 weeks came 3 months later. One did not arrive at all - promised refund in full - 14 days later no refund had appeared. Emailing again. I was very disappointed in the size and state of the plants which did arrive.

I have been a customer of yours for while. Had been getting healthy seeds until my last order. Very disappointed. Out of 100 marigold seeds only 18 germinated. These ones are also very frail. The same for the zinnias which most failed to germinate. Pls do something about your products.

The plants arrived late and 2 of the 6 plants were in very poor condition and did not survive the replanting and 4 were much smaller than expected. Emailed the helpline and was informed that I would have to pay the return postage. I will put this down to a lesson learnt and will not use Thompson & Morgan ever again.

Having ordered my 30x garden ready Cosmos plug plants on the 24th May. I had to wait 35 working days (7 weeks) for them to arrive, only to find that half were good enough to plant out. The others were either less than 3 inches with very little root or broken off at the same high. Emailed customer service but didn’t get any reply. Although the 15 plants grew well only 5 flowered. Very disappointed with the service. Would not recommend.

Bought 12 strawberry runners, 6 looked very poor, planted and cared for them but 3 didn't recover. Have emailed their customer care team numerous times over months but still no reply. They are not worth the hassle.
