Quoted £19 or £25 for a replacement watch battery to be fitted to my Rotary watch by Timpson in Maidstone Kent by a very patronising employee. Had one fitted by a nearby jewellers for £5. Not sure how Timpson can justify such a rip off.

This is a thieves house. I called timpson because of a lockout, they took my address and asked for a 50£ deposit for someone who would come in an hour because they are on another job. Ok, I paid the deposit. Less than 5 minutes later, I got it sorted out, I canceled the job. They refused to return the deposit stating that they already contacted someone to come while they just told me it would take an hour to send someone because they are on another job

Was charged £18.95 for a replacement watchstrap. The price is £14.95 online. I'm guessing the worker in the shop in Hove is scamming people. Customer Services apologised and are refunding me. The prices should be written up in the shop to avoid this happening

I have just returned from my third visit to the store in Wandsworth Southside shopping centre to key one front door key. None of the original four keys worked so i returned to the store for a second try. No apologies for none of the keys working just issued with four new keys. The second set of keys also failed to work so a got a refund. No apology for none of the 8 keys not working and my third visit to the store. I have also incurred three lots of £2.30 parking fees and still have get new keys cut! Timpson's serve as a low cost key cutting serviced but have failed miserably on this occasion, will not use Timpson's ever again. Will happily pay more for a 'get it right first time service with a smile' organization. This member of staff clearly needs re-training on cutting ordinary front door keys and his level of customer care really could be better. Disappointed customer, expected much better! Complete waste of time.

Wow, took my watch into Timpson for a battery, but turned out it needed a service. The guy told me how much it would be and I agreed to it, paid for it and was told 3-4 weeks before it came back to me. 3-4 weeks later I have just received a message from Timpson telling me that service will cost something completely different from what I was quoted and paid for. I have obviously asked them to explain. Stay well clear.

Tried to get 2 front door keys cut from a working original. The first set they cut did not work.. one key only went in to the lock part way and the other went in, turned partially and then got stuck. 45 minutes later we were on the verge of calling out a locksmith when my partner somehow managed to wiggle the key out of the lock. I returned to Timpsons (Eastgate Bristol) to get a refund but was told by a surly shop person that their (Timpsons’) policy was to try again with different keys before giving a refund. No apology or even the slightest bit of empathy for the distress caused. I was clear that I was not happy with this policy, but having little choice gave them another chance. This turned out to be a further waste of everyone’s time as the second set of keys cut would not even go into the lock. I will go back again tomorrow for a refund and see how that plays out. In the meantime I’ve contacted Timpsons, who despite their auto response telling me how important my email was and claiming that they would get back to me within 24 hours have so far (24 hours later) been in touch. Very poor customer service and useless product.

Been to two different timpsons in as many weeks. Why do the staff seem to have an attitude problem? Don’t get understand they have a job because of customers? The way Timpsons bang on about great service isn’t the reality!

Had a battery replaced in my key fob couldn’t believe the price was £10.00 as I also got the spare replaced from the same company but at a different branch about 2 months ago and they charged me £6.00. I think they charge what they like. Will definitely not be using this service again!!

Took my Iphone to have my screen fixed at the Northampton Grosvenor centre in their one he service. It had to be sent away to be fixed as they broke it when fixing it. When it was returned they had broken my phone beyond repair. It was brand new 2 months earlier. All they are prepared to offer is a secondhand old phone or a few quid to buy a secondhand one. Everyone who I've spoken to and everyone who's seen it on Facebook are disgusted with how your company has behaved. You broke my new phone the least you should do is buy a new one. If a company damages your properly you should make it right.

I bought insoles for my daughter at her request. The same day she had also spotted some in Clarke’s near her office, bought them and immediately put them in her shoes. I took the ones I had bought back to Timpsons unopened with the receipt but they refused to accept them back.

Had a pair of new, limited editions shoes but when moving I got some little black marks on the upper of one of the shoes. Took it into Timpson Tesco and was told they would be able to get the marks out. 2 days later I came to pick them up and the whole front of the upper now had a big blotch of dark, discoloured leather. The guy said he can fix it by dying the entire shoe, as well as the other (pristine) shoe a bit darker to the same colour of the blotch. I went back 2 days later to find both shoes were darker, but the blotch was now darker too! And the pristine shoe now had scratched up uppers, a little flap of leather had been ripped up, the stitching had come undone and the rubber around the shoe had been scuffed and scratched away. Online support told me I had to take it to another store (on the other side of London from me) to get them dyed 'properly' and if they were not fixed, they could be posted in to their "excellence centre" for a proper repair. Trekked to the other side of London and the staff member in that store said he has no idea what the online support team was talking about: the shoes had been scratched and scuffed beyond repair and they could only be dyed from light brown to completely black! Online support is now saying they won't accept them beyond posted in to the "excellence centre" because they are irreparable, and they will not compensate my for the shoes because I gave "permission" for them to be repaired. So basically, what they've said is: "Yes, our website and staff say we can do any job and are committed to customer satisfaction. But we couldn't do your job and damaged your shoes, but it's YOUR fault for bringing your shoes to us instead of somewhere else. Yes, our staff ruined your limited edition shoes so they're useless now, but they did their best and although they made it so much worse, we don't take responsibility for mistakes or failings. Please feel free to jump off a bridge if you don't like it." Do NOT go anywhere near Timpson with your property if it means anything to you. For all the nice marketing speak they put everywhere that they will do a good job, in the event that they destroy your property, they will shift the blame to you for giving them "permission" to do anything to them. This essentially means they can do anything they want to your stuff, they can take your money, they can lose your property, damage it and ALL blame falls on you for giving them "permission" to work on - or destroy - your things. There is zero accountability here, zero integrity, and zero commitment to the customer. If you took your white car in to have a scratched door repainted and then it came back with EVERY SURFACE scratched up and the car now being a light grey and the staff said, "well, you shouldn't have given us permission in the first place. We did our best," would that be appropriate? If you went to a restaurant and found a cockroach in your food and the chef came out to let you know, "we didn't force you to come and eat here. We did our best, but you gave us permission to make food for you," would that be appropriate? Timpson believes that's the right way to approach business and handling customers. AVOID. The best case scenario (them doing an okay job) is NOT worth the worst case scenario, where they give you back a destroyed watch or pair of shoes and give you the middle finger for choosing them over anywhere else that will take pride or responsibility for their work. If you choose Timpson, you're choosing a place that gives their staff the freedom to destroy your things without any consequence, because it's all your fault for choosing them. What stops a business like Timpson then, where the staff never have to worry about doing a decent job, when they can just ruin your things and shift the blame to you? Nothing. I've experienced it through their store staff, their online customer service people and the area team. If you care about your property, go elsewhere. Don't be impressed or wowed by the big name or the lofty promises on their website and all over the place. They don't respect you or your things.

Hi, I want to report about refusing of service at one of your sites. It was Windsor Dedworth Tesco unit. I was refused to replace my battery on iPhone by your employee on 16:40 1st of October 2021. I ordered battery a week ago and got a phone call from you saying that it is arrived, and I could pop in anytime now. When I came today your guy told me that he never done this before and it will take him an hour to replace the battery and he does not have time to do this however it was 1 hour 20 minutes left to the COB. I asked him couple of times, but he refused to service me. I am not sure this is Timpson’s standard, and this is not my problem that your staff is not trained enough. It was the service your announced and you just lost money and a client. Please fix this and as for me I will never use Simpson again.
