“Took a pair of shoes and a pair of boots to Timpson's booth at Morrisons Aberystwyth to be resoled and heeled. Soles didn't fit properly and were peeling off. Heel caps were not shaped to match the heels but were left with flat facets around them. Really the worst shoe repairs I have ever seen. I did get a refund as the man working in the booth agreed the work was terrible. What a bunch of cowboys.”

“Terrible , took in 2 x Kooples, suits for first dry clean , worth over £2k, both came back with holes on the back of the jackets and trousers, discoloured buttons, totally ruined and fit for the bin now. Never again, i trusted Timpson as a big name and expected them to take the care and attention required when dry cleaning. Labels on the suits both stated the temperature required and what type of chemicals for dry cleaning, absolutely no excuse for not protecting the buttons either, this is standard stuff. I am now left with 2 less suits and a bill to replace for over 2k in todays prices for luxury suits. Absolutely disgusting service with no responsibility for damage from the Malvern branch in Morrisions WR2. Staff bundle and throw your suits into a pile without respect, and this lack of respect and care also continued to the actual dry cleaning process clearly.”

“Have waited 2 weeks for trousers to be dry cleaned. At time of leaving them at Timpsons, Sainsbury’s, Hadleigh Road, Ipswich I was told it would take 1 week. Now I have tried them on I find a double crease, front and back where one crease should be. Sloppy work, no interest in doing a proper job. Very disappointed.”

“Took a pair of boots to Timpsons at Sainsbury's Burpham for heel and sole replacement. I was quoted £39.99! When I asked how much for just the heels it was £29.99. Being logical (I thought) I said I would just have the soles done as surely they would be £10. Nope, also £29.99. Frankly, the guy serving was totally disinterested, didn't look at me had no interest whatsoever. Having used this kiosk in the past for re-heeling and key cutting I was pretty disgusted after my last visit.”

“Timpson @Clowne, Chesterfield produced an appalling job of my tailored jacket for work, the pressing must have been undertaken by an apprentice learning the trade. I had to re - steam & re press the jacket once I had it home. I will not be taking any jackets to this branch again. They are fine with less important items, such as duvets.”

“Absolutely rip off merchants. 2 minutes to punch and replace 2 pins to shorten a watch strap. For this they charmed £10.95. No list of costs in the shop. Wil not be using them for any service at all.”

“Just been to have the battery in my watch replaced at the Irvine branch. I have had the lifetime replacement service since 30/7/2018 and had my battery changed 4 times. Not usual guy on today and was refused service because the Case No on the card wasn't on the watch back. It has been accepted previously. I have to wait till usual guy comes back from holiday to get my watch going.”

“Was in Basildon yesterday the service membership while the normal gentleman who is excellent is away is disastrous! Not only that I had a young lad yesterday who quoted me £5 for a stud to be replaced on a piece of leather couldn’t be bothered to do it as it was time to go home as he overpriced me he told me to go to another store I travelled all the way to Pitsea in Tesco’s in Essex to be greeted by him again and he wouldn’t let me talk to any of the other members of staff and this time quoted me £7.50 for the same item couldn’t do any other things I asked him to do seem to make problem with it as he didn’t really want to serve me for some reason he didn’t really care. I’m absolutely disgusted with the service that I was given by this young lad who obviously has got no customer service experience how to deal with people and enquiries can’t give proper quotations prices then you shouldn’t give one at all the other two men just stood by and didn’t get involved, which I found , absolutely pathetic for a business and he was quite happy for me to go and make a complaint .”

“I asked Timpson to glue the sole of my sandals back together where it came apart. My first day on my holiday the sole already came apart and it was because Timpson hardly applied any glue to it.”

“I would never resole or re-heel a pair of shoes with this company. If Gary the sales representative is the face of Timpson’s it will be bankrupt very soon. I left a beige shoe to be resoled, the finish was terrible and all this Gary person can say in his condescending and curt tone “ I didn’t do the work”. I asked if the sole could be tided up, he did this reluctantly. He gave me back the shoe, worst than before, as he sprayed some lacquer/polish on the shoes that made the ill-marched resole look worst. Gary needs training in customer service, he is rude and quite frankly did not give a s***. I would score zero if possible, next time I will just replace the shoe than use Timpson, a shoe repair shop with no concept of repairing shoes in the 21st century.”

“Took my watch to change the battery at the Uppingham (Rutland) branch. The watch worked perfectly until then, but Timpson told me it was broken. I was charged £225 for the repair. I could not prove it, but I know they broke it when replacing the battery. I have since found someone in exactly the same situation (and exactly the same £225 bill to fix what was not broken before going to the store).”

“avoid at all costs if you have something delicate or expensive took my MOB dress to them (cost£825) paid specialist clean £44 came back ruined . except no responsibility for the damage even the manager of Timpson. shop could not believe their head of customer services did nothing.”

“Fulham Broaway Timpson's shut 15 mins early, the shopkeeper said you have had all day to come here which wasn't the case. Timpson's Goucester Rd didn't have right size strap. V annoying. I walked for 20 mins aswell.”

“Do not use for watch battery replacements! I have now used 2 Timpson outlets at Sainsbury's Mansfield and also Tesco Mansfield. I have now had 5 battery replacements in just over 1 year! When I queried this they said it's pot luck if the battery works, can work for 12 months or can last 2 weeks. He shook his container with all the little batteries in and blamed the Ukraine crisis and also blamed the quality on saving the planet!! Timpsons need to stop ripping off its customers and start giving a quality service. Paid £45 for a lifetime battery - daylight robbery and trading standards need to investigate”
