Took my watch to change the battery at the Uppingham (Rutland) branch. The watch worked perfectly until then, but Timpson told me it was broken. I was charged £225 for the repair. I could not prove it, but I know they broke it when replacing the battery. I have since found someone in exactly the same situation (and exactly the same £225 bill to fix what was not broken before going to the store).

Had 3 new keys cut for the front door, none of them fit. The blank keys they use must be poor quality or the key cutting machine must need calibration.

Fulham Broaway Timpson's shut 15 mins early, the shopkeeper said you have had all day to come here which wasn't the case. Timpson's Goucester Rd didn't have right size strap. V annoying. I walked for 20 mins aswell.

Do not use for watch battery replacements! I have now used 2 Timpson outlets at Sainsbury's Mansfield and also Tesco Mansfield. I have now had 5 battery replacements in just over 1 year! When I queried this they said it's pot luck if the battery works, can work for 12 months or can last 2 weeks. He shook his container with all the little batteries in and blamed the Ukraine crisis and also blamed the quality on saving the planet!! Timpsons need to stop ripping off its customers and start giving a quality service. Paid £45 for a lifetime battery - daylight robbery and trading standards need to investigate

Absolutely awful experience with Timpson. I took an item to be cleaned, and when it was returned, it was permanently marked - they blamed me for getting it dirty in the first place. There is no empathy, customer service or any attempt to look after the customer. The escalation process is bizarre. I have spent months seeking a simple gesture of goodwill from them and a bit of human kindness. In-store, to be fair, they were very sympathetic and wanted to compensate me but could not and had to pass to HQ. Woe betide that happens to you because no shred of humanity or kindness is left there. You get stonewalled, and it quickly snowballs into a giant mountain of pain and worry. I have never been to small claims court, but Timpson HQ provides this option as the only way to escalate. I then sat in a hearing and listened to the Timpson person lie and lie and lie. It was at that point I knew I was never going to win. For Timpson it is never going to be about the customer. Simply THE WORST and most terrifying customer experience strategy I have ever come across. What sort of company nowadays encourages customers to seek legal advice from the first interaction and goads to 'see them in Court'? Why, why would any decent company or person want to do that? I categorically state that neither my family nor friends will ever use any of their branches again. I tell everyone about my bad experience story and encourage them to take their business elsewhere. It was just the most abysmal and iniquitous encounter I have ever had, and I will regret ever choosing their service and entrusting them with my dry-cleaning.

The guy running the Timpsons at Sainsburys in Matlock, Cawdor way, is an absolute conman!! DO NOT get any work done here. I recently bought a new car transponder switch blade key fob off him. It turns out that the switch blade part of the key is made from the most brittle metal made by man; I caught the key with my trouser leg getting in the car, and rather than it bend, it snapped right off. After literally 3 months of use. So, I return it for repair, and the bearded conman says that I need to have the whole transponder key fob stripped down too, and that I’ll need a brand new complete key fob - for £50!!! Incensed, but in a tight position as my car won’t start and I’m stranded, I agree. He even offers to “throw in a free spare battery” for me. I return to pick up the key, and first off: no spare battery. He says “I’ve even put a NEW battery in for you” - like he’s done me some sort of favour. I should bloody hope there’s a new battery in there, seeing as you’ve just shafted me for £50 and a “new” transponder, but NO SPARE battery. So, I drive home as it’s now getting dark, and in the bright light of my kitchen I can see that he literally GAVE ME BACK MY OLD KEY FOB but with a new switch blade ignition key in it!! He just changed out the mechanical key, and SOLD MY OWN KEY FOB BACK TO ME, for £50!!! I know this because I deliberately rubbed off some of the plastic lacquer to make sure that I’d actually be getting a new fob, but this degenerate wasn’t eagle eyed enough to spot it, and dishonest enough to try his luck. I did wonder why he was unable to look me in the eye when taking payment, and handing me back my receipt, as well as my old broken key in a bag, whilst not once breaking eye contact with the floor. The rat. This guy is the absolute worst example of a conman tradesman. I will be making a formal complaint to Timpsons head office; and will push as hard as I can to have him fired. This isn’t poor customer service, this is outright FRAUD! And a stain on the once great English institution of Timpsons. I’m absolutely furious.

My wife was refused a replacement battery under the supposed 'Lifetime Guarantee' despite having the card and relevant watch! What a con. Rip off Britain at it's finest. The moral of the tale: Don't trust Simpsons. Poor.

If I can give 0 I would. Had my car key for the last 4 weeks. and still not fixed. The South Ruislip Timpson in Sainsbury has no system and do not care. No details or phone number of customers to let them know what is happening and also for staff who are covering. The car key was thrown under the table in a box without any notes. The customer service is untrained and talk as if we had to be patient for months. Then they say I had to pay as they are doing a ser. This is their service!!!

Took my watch to Timpson, Carmarthen for a new battery. The guy said, "I can tell from the way the second hand is moving that it's not the battery but the movement. I'll have to send it away for repair and it will cost about £80". I declined, and took it to a local jeweller who changed the battery for £10. The watch has worked perfectly since. Was the guy a horologist or a cobbler?

Been use Timpson Edgbaston Morrison dry cleaning few years. couple times hard gelatinous mark been found on cloth after wash. i am not a fussy person and never go back to question them what is it until couple weeks ago my jumper been found a big hole on it after wash. report on line next day and been told need to speak to the shop manager. bring in the jumper and she first respond is: that won't be cause by us, not even apologize. then they went through their own investigate report. result is the damage can be caused by a sharp object but because no other cloth in the cleaning load had no damage so it is not possible for this one ??? how about by staff negligence on my jumpers only? the report result is by insect damage like larvae of the clothes moth. which is ridicules. i have been sent in 5 clothes to wash and only this been insect damage? i have hundreds cloth hang together in same wardrobe and never had any mark of insect on any of them. only because you can't find the reason so insect damage by customer will be the easiest way to explain and no responsibility on your side? the damage is so obviously cause by a sharp object and the store still use majority wired hunger with a sharp head. the cloth has been checked one by one on counter when receive. on return no one check with you on counter and all been put in a requested non-transparent bag. it is a valuable pure cashmere jumper and new only 1 year from purchase. i will tell everyone i know to avoid us Timpson dry wash and will never go back again.

I made the mistake of buying two Timpson's watch battery lifetime guarantees. Both guarantees cost just under £25 each. One watch I bought the guarantee for was old and turned out to have a fault and the other watch also has a fault so neither watch can be used. The moral of the story is beware of buying this guarantee if your watch is not going to last long enough to get your money's worth out of the guarantee.
