Well recommend you don’t use them for watch repairs after my experience. My omega needed a battery changing quoted £95 as has to be sent to Birmingham workshop . The shop guy said a service would be £105 so agreed . Weeks later got an estimate of £325 as parts needed from omega . Reluctantly agreed . Weeks later chasing they sent my watch back . The gas relief valve crown was missing . Sent back to get repaired under warranty , then got an estimate for £595 as it must be sent back to omega they couldn’t repair it , rejected the estimate and they sent it back. An expensive mistake circa £900 quote for a watch that only needed a battery changing . I took the watch to a guy locally who quoted £250 plus vat to repair the watch . Since found that omega only supply a service kit for the watch which includes a new gas valve crown , so what parts did Timpson wait for to do the original service , Chinese bits maybe . Do learn from expensive mistake and go to a local recommended watch repairer or jeweller for any repairs . No issue with the rest of Timpson service I have had over the years , the Witney guy in the shop is ok and professional , sometimes stressed but understandable especially on a saturday . The

Looked at the previous reviews about Timpson's, Morrison's, Hamilton and agree 100% with them. Aaron is an extremely helpful and knowledgeable young man who is a credit to himself and the company. Can speak highly enough of him.

Timpsons were unable to cut a simple front door key that actually worked, despite me trying twice at 2 different stores. They also charged double what a local locksmiths charges. I will avoid all Timpsons branches in future. Incredibly poor service.

Lee at the Newcastle branch by the Tesco was absolutely fantastic. I wanted a padlock engraved but the padlock I had was quite large and had a seal on it so Lee wasn’t sure if it would turn out ok. We took the risk and I ended up not being 100% pleased with it, so Lee didn’t charge me for the engraving because he agreed some of the letters you couldn’t read, however I appreciate his time and effort for trying to make it work even though he was worried it might not work. A really decent guy and I 100% recommend this timpsons store Thank you

I called Gary at Timpson Sainsbury’s Brookwood (branch 1150) to ask if he could help, as I had pulled the tongue out of one of my running spikes … he said to bring it in to see what he could do - so I did, 15 minutes later on my way to do my weekly shop. It was an unusual and awkward task for Gary, but when I returned 45 minutes later, he had finished it. He’s a magician and I’m a really pleased customer !

I was served by Daniel from Portugal in the Timpsons branch that is connected to Fulbourn Tesco (Cambridge) and he was so friendly, spontaneous and nice that he made my day! He approached his job with a mixture of care and personal attention which I appreciated. I hope that his boss reads this review ... yours sincerely Judy Metliss

For the first time in my adult life I took the regrettable decision to have a pair of very much liked and conformable shoes resoled. I decided to go with Timpson's service, at the cost of £89 (a price that would have bought me a new pair of similar shoes). I went with it as the shoes were in good condition and resoling would have given them another lease of life. I was initially informed it would take 2 weeks, but eventually I was able to collect after 5 weeks. Due to the distance of the store (and it being the most convenient one) I visited 3 weeks after the order to chase it, and was informed there was a backlog (yet no explanation s to why I was not informed). I started an email thread with customer care to track the progress, and was eventually informed they were ready only because I wrote again to query the progress. On the email I was told the number provided didn't work, but the store manager said their system wasn't sending updates (not sure who to believe). In a nut shell, a negative start to my experience. I finally collected my shoes, but didn't check them properly in store as I was in a rush (my bad, I should have taken the time). However, I proceeded to email customer care that I was not satisfied with the outcome, as a smart pair of shoes had soles put on them that are typical of safety/outdoor boots and completely off the original style. They can't even be described as 'Best match'. Having not had these shoes which I use for for work for 5 weeks already, I was advised to return them to the store to provide Timpson the opportunity to re-repair and rectify the problem. I stressed I had already covered 120 miles taking them to the store, returning once to chase the order and eventually collect. Bearing in mind this is the most convenient store, doing so again would add more milage and cost to fuel leading to the final cost to me to be in excess of £110 for a pair of shoes I could have replaced new for less. Not to mention being without shoes again for a few more weeks. At this stage the most convenient option as a customer would have been a refund so I could actually replace the shoes. This was met with resistance and refusal from Timpson to refund what was frankly a poor service. Their excuse 'We need an opportunity to rectify the problem in the first instance'. Here we are, I am now forced to post my shoes to their office at mu expense initially, so they can be then sent on to their repair manager, to resole again, and will be without shoes for a further god only knows how long. I can honestly say, even if the shoes are returned in the slightest of a satisfactory state, I will not be using their resoling services again. Part 2 of this review will follow once the shoes have been returned.

I was taken aback when an employee at the Timpson store in Oldham made a derogatory comment towards me during my visit. I had gone into the store with the straightforward intention of having the battery replaced in my Hugo Boss watch—a task I had been looking forward to completing. As I approached the counter and attempted to make my payment, I encountered a minor hiccup: I had forgotten to unfreeze my bank card, which resulted in the payment not going through. In that moment of confusion, I was caught off guard when the employee, with a condescending tone, remarked, “Please don't run away.” His words struck me as deeply inappropriate and somewhat puzzling. I stood there momentarily dumbfounded, trying to process the unexpected nature of his comment, which felt both belittling and unwarranted given the situation. After finally sorting out the payment and completing my transaction, I left the store with a lingering sense of disbelief, grappling with the interaction and trying to comprehend the reason behind such an uncalled-for remark.

On our 3rd attempt of getting our key cut we did finally get a key to fit the lock and unlock the door with a bit of a wiggle. The whole process was a palaver to drive back and forth to my nearest town to get the faulty keys rectified but we got there in the end. After a bit of fiddling the gentleman Tom Hench in Buckingham was very helpful and wanted to try everything to get a key to work for us and helped all he could. We did eventually get a key that fitted the lock and opened the door albeit a bit sticky but still I’ll take that as a win compared to the previous keys that didn’t even fit or unlock. He was so helpful and we got a key in the end and that’s what matters to us.

Long time customer. Unfortunately had a battery replaced but in the process the seal was broken and not replaced unlike stated on their website as standard. Watch now broken after i paid for lifetime battery change. Not happy and will try other places in future.

I would give minus if it was an option. I got my wedding dress dry cleaned at Timpsons in Ollerton, Nottinghamshire and it came back completely ruined. My dress has been burnt and cut at the bottom, then stitched over to hide their damages. Head office denied all liability and offered my money back as a “good will”. They claim their dry cleaners are “specialist” and everything gets checked over once cleaned which is completely false. I am absolutely appalled at the service I received. Nicole at the Ollerton store even lied to head office about showing me my wedding dress throughly in the shop which is a storage container, so there was simply no room to do this. Denied seeing evidence of this through CCTV. My dress is still stained at the bottom too. AVOID timpsons especially with extremely sentimental items, I am currently seeking legal advice.

Gazza from the Aylesbury branch did a superb job. I asked him if they sell the leather loops to go around my belt - he didn't but he took a handbag strap from his odds and ends box, sewed it together and made me a loop that fits my belt. I'm very grateful he made the extra effort for me. Thank you

Reluctantly given one star as have to give something. Went to Timpsons at Winnersh today to get a photo done for a driving licence. Arrived 2.40pm - clock in door said away for a few minutes, etc etc. Waited til 3pm and no one came back. Spoke to 5 different people who also tried to access Timpsons, so that is 6 customers lost (including me) (which in this day and age no one can afford to miss. Left at 3.05 pm still no one, so went elsewhere. What a wasted journey, will not be using them again. I presume they were open as the signage was still out, but who knows.
