“I do not trust Trustpilot based on its 4.4 star rating for the parcel delivery service Hermes UK which is so at odds with the star ratings awarded by other review sites and so at odds with my own appalling experience of the delivery business. Danny Richman's (SEO Training) report 'Can you trust Trustpilot? - 9 million reviews studied' revealed how the vast majority of reviews Trustpilot allows Hermes to invite are predominantly positive and this skews the rating. It just happens that Trustpilot receives income from Hermes for the Hermes UK profile. Media reports have questioned why businesses that make payments to Trustpilot are awarded higher ratings. ThisisMONEY's report on the disparity between the 4.5 star rating for Argus (pays) and the 1.7 star rating for John Lewis (doesn't pay) for example. I am also suspicious of how Hermes' "advanced software", ostensibly used to remove bogus reviews, removes my genuine adverse reviews from the Hermes UK profile even when supporting evidence such as tracking numbers is provided. In the past ten months alone I have had five parcels delayed for over a week, one for twelve days, because Hermes regularly seems unable to find anyone to deliver to my area. But apprently that is something Trustpilot doesn't want its users to know. I have asked Trustpilot about the proportion of the reviews removed that are negative but, despite their claims of "transparency", they seem unable to provide this information. I have posted the same reviews in the profiles, Hermesparcelnet, Myhermes and Hermes (without the 'UK') that Hermes hasn't claimed and makes no payment for and they haven't been removed. Why hasn't the "advanced software" deemed them "suspicious".”

“Trust Pilot invited me to review a company I dealt with and when I posted a negative honest review I was threatened by this company and it appears that Trust Pilot is OK with this behavior as now the review has been flagged and Trust Pilot are demanding I provide evidence I even ever had dealings with the company they invited me to review in the first place!!!!! What a joke!”

“3 time I have been contacted by trustpilot stating the seller is questioning if my purchase was legitimate...several months after the purchase and asking for documentation of proof of purchase. They have already removed 2 of my reviews and it won't be long before this one is removed too...its scam review site...should be renamed UnTrustworthyPilot.”

“Legitimate reviews removed because advertisers pay them This is a SHAM of a company. If you write a real review for one of their advertisers, they will remove it. There was no reason for my legitimate review to be removed of puppies.co.uk. Because the owners complained it got flagged and removed from the site. How is that a genuine review site? JOKE I will review both trust pilot and puppies with google and reviews.io, check out their review of trustpilot. 1.3 out of 5 with 2000 reviews says it all”

“Trustpilot is a scam! Trustpilot in itself is an absolute joke! often removing genuine reviews. They come at you with a plethora of unreasonable excuses for the bogus reasons for removing your review. Not to be trusted. I would recommend Googles more GENUINE approach to customer reviews. “I agree with everybody else regarding TrustPilot removing bad reviews. I have been scammed by a business that has stolen from me a lot of money without delivering the product and they are still operating under the same website. https://www.coffeebeanery.com.au/ Please be careful as they deliver very small value items but they don’t deliver very expensive items like coffee machines worth thousands’, so that they can show they are a legitimate business. They get good reviews on TrustPilot from low value goods. I contacted TrustPilot multiple times and I told them about my experience and they just did not care as it’s obvious that TrustPilot would not have a business without those business scamming innocent people. TrustPilot just be ashamed of their behavior as they are protecting people/businesses doing the wrong things. This website should just been banned.”

“I have tried 3 times to leave a negative review on Trustpilot for the courier company Yodel. However each one is removed shortly after being published and despite presenting evidence that backs up my reviews to Trustpilot's content integrity team they close the case without giving the reason for the removal and blame their software. And yet this company has thousands of positive reviews, all from invited reviewers of which nearly all have single figure reviews to their name. Social media is full of people complaining about Yodel and yet Trustpilot says they are excellent, really? I'm sorry but this is fraudulent and clearly shows that Trustpilot cannot be trusted.”

“Trustpilot will remove all negative reviews if asked to by any company...It's not an open and trusted platform if genuine bad experiences are removable by the company being reviewed. I've had personal experience of threats from companies using trustpilot after leaving only mediocre reviews let alone bad ones. I've deleted all my 250+ review's ( mostly good ones) as I don't trust the platform at all now.”

“Have had very bad customer service and a poor quality home from Taylor Wimpey and over a 5 year period have left reviews on trustpilot in relation to it. Their integrity team have now removed all my reviews because I left too many and in an email state its not just because their customer requested its removal. So their is no point using this company to review your experience s as they are paid by companies and remove truthful reviews that put them in a bad light. Untrustworthy and misleading not fit for purpose”
