How about leaving a family stranded on the side of the road I rented a car from Turo May 26, 2020 to the car breaks down 240 miles away from my home in a completely different city outside of the city to be exact I called Touro and told them that the car broke down whole thing like he was willing to help host even stated I will make sure you get a full refund it is now June 18 and I have still not received a refund May 26 tow truck came I had to call Uber because me and my sons could not fit in the tow truck he van didn’t even know where to send the car I had to give him the house number to tell him to send the car back to the host after being stranded with two kids in a city that we did not live in I had to Uber to a hotel which cost me $44 I had to pay for a hotel that cost me $115 we stayed at the hotel but time I called Turo to get the car replacement the same day they’re closed I got the runaround we can’t give you the replacement until we know the tow truck driver has the car finally they confirm that the coach the tow truck driver has the car but by that time they’re close I called them oh offices are now closed so then I had to wait till the next day to call Turo I called Touro cannot receive a car replacement until 11 o’clock May 27 I had to spend another $44 to Uber to the place where the car replacement was pick up the car replacement everything‘s going well from Beyan the lady explained to me that we can give you a car here in Austin but we can I get you to Houston so then I had to pay for arrangements for me and my boys to get from Austin back to Houston Texas so then I had to pay for someone to come pick me up in Austin Texas take a time out of their schedule to come and pick me up which was another hundred dollars thankfully I knew them and they only charge me the gas there and back but still that was extra money that was coming out of my pocket I drop the car off at 11:48 they were car replacement was due at 11 o’clock which was stated from the customer service at 11 AM that morning to me that we were able to drop the car off at 11 AM without being charged the car was delivered to them at 11:48 I will still charged $164 on May 27 for the car being late and and the car being 26 miles over the mileage because I was lost in hill country due to the GPS being dropped I had to drive back the other way because the GPS had me going to different direction oh because the owner wanted the car back at a certain time I was then charged another $164 total then June 12 my car was charged again for another $10 for some unknown charges that I don’t even know of I called the representative he stated that they have to get permission from the host to get my refund h

I was traveling to San Francisco and got confused by their app that is poorly built for phone use, I accidentally booked a car that was over an hour drive from the airport. It was a last minute trip and a last minute decision to ride with them since I had a good experience albeit expensive the first time. I canceled as soon as I noticed and TURO pops me with a $150 fee!!!!!! I already booked another car that turned out was more like a stolen porsche with a FOB that did not work, check engine light coming on and a non functional trunk. I could have lived with all of that, except customer service told me to take a hike and would not budge. Will NOT be using this service again, will not be buying into this. Good idea, bad execution, their reviews state it all!!

Worst car rental experience of my life! Their insurance absolutely does not cover minor flaws in a used car. I took the car and the owner and I saw and I took a picture of how the roof spoiler was poorly fixed, but it did not seem so unreliable. Everything was fine, but on the 3rd day of the rental, the spoiler fell off on the highway, and I could not pick it up, because other cars simply ran over it. I reported this incident and thought that Turo and insurance would solve this problem, but it turned out that it was not! they billed me for $818!! That is, if you took an initially faulty car, know that you will not be covered for anything! Terrible service and customer service

Description of Complaint: I first want to make sure turo understand that this is bad business when you have customer service numbers listed and all of them say the same thing " they can't help you because your account is suspended " I have had an account with Turo for a couple of years and never had any violation of any kind never had any problems renting until now I tried to rent a car and I wasn't able to due to my account being canceled suspended I have no Idea why my account was suspended I have emailed , called, texted, chat no answer except the same your account is suspended this has been a recurring problem with Turo for several people they just suspend lots of people account and never reactivate them and never let you resolve them with live person I didn't give permission to anyone to use my phone number or email address and my account gets suspended instead of them letting you speak to a live person to resolve it you are continuing to put me to a chat and they don't give reason why I am not the only one with this complaint I want Turo to re open my account because I didn't give out any information for anyone else to use that is the best way to having better customer service really resolving loyal customers issues they have extremely bad customer service

If you are thinking about renting a car on turo because it will save you money or whatever the reason PLEASE THINK TWICE. The people renting out cars to you are often sketchy, money hungry and not properly insured. Turos insurance is not always going to cover you and it could end you in a lot more trouble than it’s worth. That being said, there are some honest people on Turo. So if you do rent through there just make sure to read reviews

I booked a car for 2 days from Dragana in Las Vegas from Turo. The pickup was great and very easy, the car was in great condition and very clean and the drop off was straightforward. My issue happened after the car was returned - I got a bill for over $250 for supposedly smoking in the car. The pictures of the “proof” that were sent were of some sand and dirt in the car - unavoidable from having walked around in some national parks on our trip and not excessive dirt at all. After contacting Turo to try and resolve the situation, explaining that I am a non-smoker and that they pictures were very clearly not ash from cigarettes but some dirt and sand, they removed my account and insisted the decision was final without letting me appeal properly. I will continue to fight this with Turo but I highly recommend you avoid using them if you want to avoid additional costs. I feel like I’ve been scammed and it’s made more disappointing by the fact that without this ridiculous charge, this could’ve been a 5-star review.

A driver with 5 stars cancelled my trip last minute. I lost the money I payed for the flights as now other cars were available. The “5 star” driver posted the same I booked in advance for cheap, for double the price immediately after cancelling my trip!! I have no way to review this person so the reviews are very misleading!! All that Turo offered is a 250 dollar bonus for next trip which of course I won’t dare to try! Stay away!!! This is not worse the terrible disappointment and money loss (as flights are not refundable and changed now are expensive last minute)

BEWARE I own national star auto , I’ve been mislead by this company . If you buy a new car to put on Turo and the consumer gets a rim dented or scratches the car it gets reported to auto check and car fax and that drops the value by thousands If you try to get paid for damage to your vehicle It’s a nightmare you have to go through snap sheet , they don’t want to pay the correct amount and take forever I’m tired up for a month over small damage . You can not make money , this is s scam once you buy the car and the consumer s destroy your car each time they use it , it’s worth Pennie’s on the dollar Plus tires , cleaning ,rotors , brakes etc My name is Joe Diolosa if you need any info on how this company operates please feel free to call me at 732 799 1554 I’m also trying to reach Zac at 415 539 3132 From Turo for over a week , no return call and my 55k Tesla is still tied up This company is great to rent a car and destroy and abuse someone’s car . To do this as s business or passive income pass Joe Diolosa

As soon as I signed up for Turo, I began receiving scam calls and I was contacted by Identity Theft Protection service, my personal info had been compromised.

Turos Host claims I damaged his car. I disputed the claim, Turo reviewed and said I am responsible. They sent me pictures that the Host took a day later after it had been rented out. I disputed that, they reviewed again and then said my pictures showed the damage, which they do not and I disputed that. I never did get a fair explanation from them. Terrible Customer Service Representatives, they were very rude during the whole process and even sent me numbers that didnt even add up, which they never would answer that question either. They are their own judge and jury and do not listen to their customers. I was guilty in their minds and they did not want to listen to my rebuttal. According to Turo, To cover yourself you have to buy the full coverage insurance at an additional $15/day which they keep reminding me that I should have done. A similar incident happened 2 years ago that I wrote off as a bad host, but now this is the second time. Please beware of renting without buying their $15/day insurance, I will not be renting from Turo again.

Turo is a joke of a company who will hopefully go out of business sooner than later. I rented with them for a few years with minor issues like fraudulent rentals where the host was the issue. I never made that an issue with Turo as they would just cancel and allow me to book from another host. Everything changed when I booked a truck for a work trip. Turo charged me for tolls after and I inspected this I realized that the host charged for a parking ticket that was incurred after the rental dates. I contact Turo only to be told it was a valid toll. After reviewing the ticket again (that Turo sent me) it was clear this was a toll and the owner was committing fraud. Not only did Turo side with the owner and refuse to actually read the ticket, they passed me from chat bot to chat bot, then restrict my rentals for complaining. At this point I had overlooked the fraudulent rentals, car pick up issues, and toll charges because it was affordable. But in the end you get what you pay for! Since then I’ve had smooth rentals with Lyft and will be trying Get Around which has better reviews and customer service. Don’t waste your time Turo. Hopefully we see a documentary about how this company tanked to account for all their poor and fraudulent businesses practices.

I was returning a vehicle to the host as a favor for my associate that rented it, I was physically attacked by the vehicle owner, apparently the car was late, so for that i got a full can of mace in my eyes, then I got beaten down in the parking lot. Do not rent this woman's car, HER name is Arnisha Murphy her car is a black Toyota camery with the liscense plate prissy7. Phone number 5014136914. Please do not use turo, This site is dangerous, and they allow there guest to be physicsll5 harmed by host/guest. This is not professional and they need to be suwed or shut down, protect yourself from these people.

The worst customer experience I’ve ever had in my life and I don’t say that lightly. We requested a refund for tires we had to replace during our trip. We never got an answer, so we reached out again to Turo customer service, and they told us (via chat bc it’s impossible to talk with a human) that a refund request was never put in. At this point we’ve reached out 4 times in over a month and they still don’t have our request in the system even though every person tells us they’re putting in our request. I could go on and on about their epic awfulness

Communication is shocking, takes ages to talk to a human and even then they can’t justify or answer questions. They don’t care about their guests, they’re in favour of the people hosting cars at the detriment of the guest. Do not trust them.

Awful customer service. Background check is convoluted and performed without clear benchmarks. Extremely disappointed with the service, I would not recommend this service to anybody.
