Host made an agreement with me regarding pic up and drop off. She did not honor her agreement for pic up and we ended up having to drive an hour out of our way to pic her up. We almost missed our plane. Then she charged me for the toll charges we incurred going to pic her up. I reached out to Turo and they didn’t respond and took monies out of my account even tho we were disputing the charge with a legitimate reason. This was my first time using Turo and it will be my last.

Do not book with Turo, go to a traditional rental company and save yourself the headache. I’ve spent thousands of dollars renting from Turo and have had several issues. One, they allow their host to park the vehicle anywhere they want, including airports and parking lots that costs more money to get the vehicle or drop it off. This is price gauging the customer, on top of having to take a Lyft to get the vehicle, you have to pay crazy fees because where the host decides to park it. Two, a host can just cancel after you rent a car and that leaves you scrambling to get another car through customer service which is stressful last minute. Three, I was driving on the highway and a rock hit the windshield and cracked it. This was completely out of my control. I now have to pay over $200 to replace a windshield that I don’t have. Four, Some of the vehicles I have rented felt like they were going to give out any minute. One just turned off at a light and no it wasn’t one that is supposed to do that. Another shook on the highway and felt like it was going to fall apart. Five, customer service is completely useless when disputing charges, the company doesn’t hold the host responsible for crazy fees and sometimes you won’t even get an invoice for these fees until weeks later. I just gave five reasons to save yourself the headache. They lost a customer tonight over $250, both expenses should not have been mine.

The cars and hosts have been great. They are five star. Turo as a company is a 1 star. Turo as a company is the issue. Their website's pricing is not what you will pay. The cars are listed at a certain price per day (also included is the total trip price, with a note that this price excludes taxes and fees). However, when you get to the payment, the price will have gone up. The company does not feel this is misleading or false advertising. Customer Service will "as I explained before," you until you just give up. My frustration and aggravation is that they list a price on the page with details of the car. There are no disclaimers or notations that this price includes any discounts you may qualify for (ex., early bird booking, multiple days, etc.). However, the undiscounted price will show on your receipt - which, of course, also includes higher Trip Fees for the higher cost of the rental. This is not the owner's issue. It is Turo's responsibility to advertise fair and correct pricing.

I had a terrible experience as a Turo Host!! We are in the SLC, Utah metro and started with a minivan. It was profitable, so we got another one, then tried a luxury SUV to appeal to the skiing visitors. The first 3 trips went perfect with raving reviews, but the third lost control in a rainstorm and got in an accident. Turo refused to process the damage claim, because my safety inspection was 3 months old. The claims adjuster also advised me that they could deny the claim, because I didn't have a photo of the guests Driver's License and photo of the guest holding the Driver's License. My personal insurance would not cover the damage, because the accident occurred during a Turo Trip. The damages we over $18,000 and we were stuck to cover the bill out of pocket! As we started this Turo Host experience, our current bank and insurance company would not consider being associated with Turo, this was my first ignored warning. The fine print in Turo's agreements gives them several loopholes and I haven't figured out how to hold Turo or their Guest accountable. The agreements include a no-lawsuits clause, so I cannot sue Turo. I have requested arbitration four times with no response. The risk of have any vehicles on the road, driven by strangers, with practically no insurance is way too high to be considered. I discourage anyone from becoming a Host. If you are already a host, I encourage you to cash-out your assets before they get totaled without coverage.

I have rented several vehicles through Turo, and it has always been a smooth experience, and I’ve met some wonderful hosts. However, if there is a problem with your account, or they make an error, you will spend hours on hold, navigating automated answering machines. If you finally get a human, you’ll be lucky and then ultimately be transferred to or three times during the process they will probably hang up on you.. when you finally get a “supervisor”. You’ll be lucky if they have a minimal command of the English language and you’ll be lucky if they could navigate a correction or a refund on your account. Horrible customer service dept. Great cars & very nice hosts.

Rented a Tesla from Turo ... car appeared nice but the pick up was so hectic that I couldn't take photos. The car is a 2018 and I found that I was constantly having to charge it. Literally go 85 miles and spend an hour charging. Gas is cheaper and quicker. Getting ready to return the car I stop and charge to 90% ... drive the 40 miles to the airport and the charge is not 63%. Host hits me $$ for the low charge. In talking to Tesla, they inform me that an older Tesla like this 2018 will have battery degradation and the charge won't last. I feel like getting charged for an issue with the car is ridiculous. But the best is yet to come ... When I picked the car up, at the airport night before Thanksgiving, things were crazy chaotic and I could not take photos. Of course I promptly forget about this step in the excitement of seeing my husband after so many months apart. I return the car and walk around it with the host. We're both taking photos. We part ways and hours later he informs me that he's getting an estimate to fix the tire rub on the back passenger side. I'm like what? I didn't hit anything so this makes no sense. I'm comparing his before and after photos and the before have a ton of scarred-up marks on the wheel in question. Even more interesting is that it's difficult to tall which tire is which in his original images and the tire for the back passenger side appears to be a completely different tire. The Tesla icon placement in relation to the valve stem don't match up. So now I'm waiting to hear from Turo because this seems seriously sketchy. I paid $630 to have this car for 4 days. The fees are high and the vehicle and aggravation are definitely not worth it. From now on I am sticking with Enterprise or Budget.

Everything was ok at first until I was lied on by 2 host for different trips claiming I was smoking in the car. The first one took pictures of some ashes. She wasn't even there to get the car when I dropped it off, her next client was so the pictures could've come from anywhere. She could've been the one smoking! Then another host claims I smoked in his car. I told turo things fall out of pockets. I left some chip crumbs but that's all. Both times they charged me and then after the second incident they closed my account for "smoking" these people are scamming for that smoking fee.

I've rented from Turo a total of three times. The first time was magical and easy, I have no bad words for my experience. The second time I had a great host but they failed to notify me that I would be paying $36 to get the car out of parking only to receive the reimbursement that night through Venmo. I did let them know that some people would not be comfortable with that given that there is no heads up. Third-time same issue with the parking cost...last minute I find out I have to pay for parking but this time there is NO reimbursement. I pay it because what am I going to do, not have a car at this point? I contact turo and they won't reimburse me. So I dispute it. Long story short, using Turo means that there is a level of variability that is SCARY and there really is only so much you are guaranteed. At least when I use a car rental agency my charges are clear once I drive away with the car.

I've used turo multiple times in the past and had a great time. HOWEVER I am writing this review while being stranded on the side of the road for 7 HOURS while 6 months pregnant. I rented a car and drove it 200 miles to a national park as planned, but had the car break down out here. The man who rented me the car has actually been as helpful as possible, but I've been transferred to 10 different turo agents because obviously none of them know how to help and don't want to deal with it. There is no one that can actually offer any help and I'm getting scared how long I'm going to be stranded, and scared I might also miss my flight home. The only thing they could offer me was to cancel my trip. But still charged me for this day, that I've spent on the side of the road in 100 degree heat while 6 months pregnant. I'm honestly terrified. This is also a last hope that someone from turo can help me get home.
