Car was fine. Host cancelled my first reservation because I was three hours late for a LOCKBOX pick-up. I got hit with $140 cancellation fee, and Turo would not refund even with proof of my text to host saying I would be late. Very disappointing. Be careful out there.

I found out the hard way that Turo is more for their clients who list vehicles with them, than the customers who actually rent vehicles, and keep them in business. I had a bad experience on my first rental, and when I took to Turo to give a review which was less than favorable, as it should have been they sided with the client and blocked me from renting. When I arrived to the renters home to pick up the vehicle it was not there. I tried reaching out to them and they never responded. After sitting there for about 45 minutes wondering if the vehicle was on the way, I received a call from Turo saying that the vehicle was in the shop and they have another vehicle for me. I thought this was ludacris due to the fact that I was sitting there and I could clearly see someone looking out the window at me and there was another person in the driveway, all the while I was being ignored having them only communicate with Turo. As I drove off in the vehicle I realized the brakes were squeaky and there were some things left in the car which I put to the side because I did not want to be accused of removing anything from the vehicle. It's things like this I found to be unprofessional. If you're conducting business I say do that and make sure you treat people right. This was quite disturbing, as I've never seen anything like this in my life. I would think they would want to know how their customers are being treated. I personally would want to know if someone I was doing business with was not treating my customers the right way. Something like that could truly show them in a bad light, and deter future customers from renting.

My wife and I needed to both be drivers on our Turo rental in case something happened to one of us. Well, Turo won't allow 2 people to have the same account number and email address. WTF? Had to get my wife's account to request me as a driver using my work email address then I had to create a SEPARATE account under a different phone number and email. This will be our last time using Turo. To save $20-30 just isn't worth the hassle and complete lack of customer support(India should be ashamed).

Customer service is awful. My host and car were great so this is no reflection on them. I sent a message asking if there were 24 hr gas stations near the airport so we could fill up on our way back. No reply. So I chose the $80 fill up option since we were driving 2.5 hours at 1:30 AM to catch a 5 am flight. We didn’t want to risk the extra charges of returning a car not filled. Once we landed we saw 3 gas stations open (Circle K) right by the airport. So I texted the host to tell him we can return it filled and to please credit us the $80. He said he was unable to do that and I needed to call Turo So I did and after being on the phone for 48 min and put on hold numerous times cuz the woman who answered had no clue, here were my choices. 1. She called the host and supposedly he said ok. 2. I can return it filled and if I leave a receipt they will refund me the difference of what I paid to fill it and the $80 I prepared. Yup, you read that right! So if I paid $50 to fill it they’d refund me $30. Which means I now will have spent $100 for the fill! She wouldn’t back down and was very confused. I told her my ‘receipt’ was a full tank. My ‘refund’ should be $80 3. Back on hold for another 10 min just to find out that I now must hinor the contract and return it empty. 4. But if I needed any extra time they’d be happy to add that (for another daily fee of course) I’ll never rent from Turo again and wouldn’t recommend them To anyone. Colleen

My country only issues digital license as of 2023 onwards. Turo does not accept digital license so i cant book with them. But overall their app is simple and easy to use.

I had rentlted several cars from Turo with no issues. The last 3 were the worst. Never again. I had avhost named Celio who rented a car to me with an expired tag and I got a ticket for the tag. After that one, I rented from a host off of 103rd and the car was dirty inside and out, with the service light on and smelled like a dirty diaper inside, I did not feel comfortable driving the car out of town, so I didn't. The last car I needed to extend it for one day and called Turo the day before it was due and the rep could not give me thevpolicy for returning the car in 24 hrs late. She only told me there is a late fee of $20+ daily car rate plus taxes. I was charged a $20 late fee which I was ok with but then also charged a $50 improper return fee which the rep never mentioned. A one day extension should've cost me around $80, but they charged me $133 even after acknowledging me that the rep Gabe the wrong info. They need to take that $50 charged and deduct it from her danged paycheck then maybe she'd learn her job and give out the right information about this companies policies.

TURO HOST REVIEW My husband and I have 7 cars listed on the app. We have a 5-star rating on ALL cars AND overall experience. We qualified for All-Star status within a month…Turo is HORRIBLE for host compensation. My husband and I are super flexible. Rather it be reservation changes or damages, we work with everyone to find a solution. Turo doesn’t back up claims filed with their app. For example: Someone trashed our car and brought the car back on empty. Cans and bottles everywhere, sand everywhere inside the car. I you know live near a beach, you know I how hard it is to get sand out 100%. Stains were let on seats as well….We took the check-out photos and make the claim for gas reimbursement and cleaning fee since this car needs a professional detailing. CLAIMS WERE DENIED. Turo support tried to give so much push back saying, ‘what did you clean it with…what is the stain from…did you ask the guest’…Since the guest challenged the gas charge, it was denied. This guest was already a difficult customer who wanted to use the Turo service but didn’t want to comply with Turo rules. All in all, we had to call in a week later for a different situation and the claim was reversed and approved. This was only one example. Of the 39 trips we’ve completed, 4 had obvious claims that were submitted with evidence and denied. We work so hard to provide the best service possible, but this make it difficult. Sometimes these are brought back with weird smells/stains and the car goes out again in a few hours

Never rented the vehicle, never completed the rental process to confirm. Was charged, Turos receipt states refund, but never was refunded. Owner says nothing he can do, even though he admitted I didn't rent the vehicle.

Turo failed to provide the necessary parking infrastructure for returned vehicles at the local airport. When I was ready to return my ride, I went to the designated, *free*, Turo parking lot at the airport economy parking lot, per the owner's instructions. Problem was, the lot was full. Other guest drivers had obviously run into the same problem, and had simply parked their rides in unauthorized spaces. These cars were all ticketed and at risk of being towed at the guests' expense. I had a plane to catch and didn;t have time to call customer service or text with the owner, or really do much but drop the car off and get to my departure gate. But I wasn't going to just abandon my ride, so I parked in the regular economy parking lot (side note, I also left the car with more gas in the tank than there'd been when I'd picked it up). I took a picture that showed I'd technically left it in the exact spot of the lot the owner had specified, but had accessed it in a different direction, and sent it to the owner. He texted me it was "no problem." I also called customer service on my shuttle ride to the departure gate, but they informed me I had to attempt to settle it with the vehicle's owner, first. Now the owner has sent me an invoice for the parking fee, but I'm disputing it because I don't think I (or anyone else who contracted through Turo--guests and owners alike) should be made to pay for Turo's failure to provide the necessary parking infrastructure.

Total scam that you return the vehicle back to the owner who drives off without inspecting the vehicle then later claims scratches no one else can see or pre-existed with charges you cannot defend after the event. Perceived saving versus standard rental companies is lost, spoiling your holiday. Stick to the mainstream, where they inspect on return with you present, probably cost less without frustration and annoying follow ups. Would NOT entertain using them again.

After leaving a review and the host contacting me questioning me about it. I was extremely fair. Everything was a five except for one thing. I just looked over the review and it was not there. It seems that the host somehow had it removed and it doesn’t appear on my reviews. Just a little constructive criticism, I think that this type of thing takes away from the review process which I personally rely on. After reading some of these complaints, I see that this company doesn’t have a lot of integrity…. Such a good concept with poor management.

As a new Turo customer, the car (BMW i8) I rented from “Perfect 10 R.” was a huge disappointment. The car was filthy inside and out, with a horrible mix of cologne and cigarette smell that made the ride unbearable. The vehicle had numerous scratches, clearly showing a lack of maintenance. To top it off, the host showed no empathy when I raised these issues. I expected better, but this experience was far from it. This was a surprise for my wife’s 50th birthday. Would not recommend this host.

Rented a car for 3 days 37/ day but came out to be 275.00. I pay attention to detail very well I got a car when I started it said 300 miles to empty when I returned the car I put the gas back in it at 313 miles and still got a invoice for 7.95 and 10.00 extra dollars for gas not being filled up when I didn’t receive it filled up. Over 7.95 cents really. 1 week later got another charge for 7 dollar toll road when I never took a toll road in this car. And not a like any extra charges before we close out. Owner of the car said we let u know I have removed my card Turo is a no go just more fees after fees.

You get what you pay for is the lesson we learned. Definitely sticking with a legit rental agency from now on. Thought we'd be ok with an 8 yr old VW Passat, and finding the car/keys was easy enough. But the tire light was on the whole time, the AC worked but took a bit to kick on and in Florida, August humidity, you want fast, high intensity AC. Didn't get that. The rear view camera didn't work. Felt like I was driving in the 90s. The vehicle made a very loud fan rattle noise and scary vibrations to go with it. Just not the experience you want on vacation or a work trip. Hard pass for any future traveling.

I have been us turo for two years and I just want to book a car and they have add a trip fee that’s as much as the car. The car is $240 and the trip fee is $257 . So no I won’t be using turo anymore. I’ll go back to Uber.

I used to like renting Turo cars. The cars were in good condition and more affordable than the regular rental cars. This year I rented Turo cars in Santa Barbara and Denver. Both cars were old, beat up, and had stained interiors. In addition I was worried about reaching my destinations. The cost of each was almost as much as regular car rentals. I was embarrassed to show up at a wedding driving such a shsbby car! Two thumbs down!

Turo’s pricing is quite deceptive. What is shown is only the daily rental cost of the car. Once you add trip fee, basic insurance, sales tax, delivery charge the actual out of pocket cost becomes 150%. I am an angry customer who turned to Turo thinking I was getting a better deal than all these big car rental companies. I have been disappointed by such high costs and deceptive pricing and will be taking my business elsewhere in future.

I have disabilities that cause me to be unable to take the required pictures and then get it in the app which is new in the past year. Turo does not provide reasonable accomodations for people with disabilities per the law. They are breaking the law! Anyone else have problems with turo due to their disabilities?

Host made an agreement with me regarding pic up and drop off. She did not honor her agreement for pic up and we ended up having to drive an hour out of our way to pic her up. We almost missed our plane. Then she charged me for the toll charges we incurred going to pic her up. I reached out to Turo and they didn’t respond and took monies out of my account even tho we were disputing the charge with a legitimate reason. This was my first time using Turo and it will be my last.
