System seemed to need refreshing in the middle of the transaction. I hope it did not result in duplicating my order of one Denon phono cartridge.

Feels wrong to me to be asked to pay for a replacing a new in box DOA unit to 'cut down the wait time' of replacing the faulty item. Was also told to expect RA and pre paid label via email - got the RA but no pre paid label - not sure if it is your intent, but feels like I will have to pay to ship this DOA unit back to you in order to get my money back for the unit. Been a customer for some time, but have never had to go through a return issue before. Does not feel great.

Still love you guys but miss the days when I could speak to an informed salesperson about the specifics of tubes, equipment, and matching. I certainly understand you can't take responsibility for what's ultimately a subjective experience, but with dozens of online retailers out there knowledge and personal touch is what had set Upscale apart.

Tube-rolling is extremely subjective and dependent on the listener, the system, and the listening room. Over the years, we have been able to make some fantastic recommendations but find that many customers do not experience the sonics they expect. We've learned not to try to understand what people think "sounds better."     It is darned if you do and darns if you don't regarding recommendations. I wish you could see the shoe boxes of tubes in my closet I've gone through trying to find just that one I wanted. It was a labor of love and money. We no longer make explicit recommendations on tubes, especially for products we are not dealers for. It would be best to contact the manufacturer for suggestions on tube rolling, ESPECIALLY when it comes to power output tubes.  Some brands don't allow it.  PrimaLuna, for example, has unparalleled flexibility and an excellent page on tube rolling: https://www.primaluna-usa.com/tube-rolling. If they haven't already, it might be worth asking your manufacturer to do something similar.  So that we help where we can, we have a lot of information on every tube product page, often with a video by Kevin, and there are plenty of customer reviews as well. These will give you a good idea of how a tube might sound in your system. Any specific recommendation over the phone or email would essentially be someone repeating information already out there. Remember not only to get the right tubes but to get the BEST QUALITY tubes.  Every small-signal tube we sell is graded by ear, and every power tube is burned 72 hours before precision matching.  Nobody has that attention to detail.
