“I find when you call Upscale audio to purchase major equipment you get treated well. When you call for replacement tubes you get the brush off, even for Prima Luna equipment all purchased from Upscale, disappointing service.”

Hi Ravi, We are sorry you felt you were getting the brush off when asking about tubes. We get hundreds of requests for opinions on tubes, and we no longer make explicit recommendations on tubes. Tube rolling is extremely subjective and dependent on the listener, the system, and the listening room. Over the years, we have been able to make some fantastic recommendations, but we find that many customers do not experience the sonics they expect. We've learned not to try to understand what people think "sounds better." I wish you could see the money and time that I personally have invested that resulted in boxes full of tubes that I thought would be THE THING and later moved on o try something else. We have gone to great lengths to produce videos about tubes and tube rolling, and we have a lot of information on every tube product page, often with a video by Kevin. There are plenty of customer reviews as well. As an aggregate, these will give you a good idea of how a tube might sound in your system. Any specific recommendation over the phone or email would essentially be someone repeating information that's already out there.
