Terrible company worst customer service. Kept chasing me for payments I did not owe after I left a rental property. Do not use them.

I was with UW for around a year and a half. My account built up a deficit of £1800, which I was never warned of, nor had they suggested I increase my direct debit amount. I rang them about 5 times for information and every single person I spoke to genuinely had no idea what they were talking about. I was told 3 different prices by 3 clueless staff members. It really feels as though the company has been set up and is run by a group of high school students who don’t know their left from their right. Would not recommend, sadly the company doesn’t train their staff properly and has absolutely no customer comms.

Awful customer service. I've never heard anyone so arsey on a phone call! Considering the phone call was about staying with UW whilst moving home you think they would have been a bit more polite. We then went on to EDF energy who were lovely and so helpful. UW seriously need to take note.

Absolute scam. You get suckered in to adding other services that you don’t want or need in order to get the lower rates. Then you find out you are stuck in these contracts and have huge penalties if you leave. I had to move to a location that they can’t provide the services and now I’m paying £506 just to close my account. STAY AWAY FROM UW!!!

A terrible company, my mobile and broadband didn't work for such a long time. They did nothing about it switched to Now TV who found a fault on the outside line. It needed replacing. I took it to the ombudperson, sad to say they didn't care and have concluded in UW favour. Don't use this company.

My friend has moved house so trying to leave uw. Finding it impossible due to demands on what she owes is disputed by her. Go to the energy ombudsman you will need a third party to be involved.very very expensive company. Of course they lose commission if you leave as that's the back bone of their employees. Hence all the nightmarish aftermath.

I had a excellent agent by the name of Kirsty dealing with my request.she was friendly ,patient and very helpful with all the information she provided, l came on the phone very confused, but by the time l came of the call, she had made me understand very single thing she said to me ,l was one happy customer and was no longer confused,so l would like her to know that her customer service was brilliant and to thank her very much. Kind Regards Christine Lawes

Got told at a pop up stall they cover all exit fees upto £400. Now I've signed an 18 month contract for Gas, Electricity and Broadband I've been hit with a bill for £129 exit fee. Sales rep isn't wanting to help as they have there commission now. Utility Warehouse have said I need 3 or more services swapped over to qualify for exit fees to be paid, funny the rep didn't mention this. Just avoid and save all the stress and lies.

After just over 12 months of promises that we were on the best rate in the country - with bills at £400 and £500 a month - I gave up and moved. Noticed they had overcharged me by £300 and then another £280 on gas. Have eventually got this back - 5 months later. My bills now ??? Well they are £200-250 a month 😡😡 funny that it is half the cost of utility warehouse - don’t know how to check everything out and after two heart attacks in 2 years - I don’t have the inclination to do a thorough investigation. But simple maths tells me I have been ripped off in some way

Worst broadband ever had Worst broad band ever had. I took a connection a year . When I try to move my house they said you carry your connection with you but contract will restart which is again 1.5 years . I will be moving my house again after 1 year. Then I have to continue for another 1.5 year that’s means in a way they are not allowing you to leave them . Also my 1st month bill is 100£ I only had internet for 20 days ( in that 50£ is for missing appointment) They are real frauds in looting your money. Never take a broadband connection from these guys. I’m filing a complaint against them in consumer court

They are demanding money from my 91 year old mother in law against an account that was closed in July. They aren’t her energy provider. They won’t speak to me as she is unable to provide the email address associated with her account - impossible to do as she doesn’t have an email account. It feels like she is being scammed by UW

(Avoid) Do not take out a UW house insurance policy.....I have had Two strokes and suffer from Rhumatoid Arthritis.... I had to report a leak in my bathroom 4/6 works ago now.. They sent someone out to access the leak..the leak was found but, still waiting for it to be fixed? I am unable to get any information as to when it will be fixed! UW have not helped me and trying to get an answer on a phone takes for ever.....I have told them about my health problems..but,still no help or information...I have been completely abandoned......please don't purchase and House insurance as the same could happen to you. I am worried as I just don't know what to do? Peter.

As many customers mentioned in Reviews, UW never accepts actual meter readings and they overcharge you. Here are evidence and you will see how much they charge more than actual meter readings. Nightmare.

When I moved a flat, they overcharged me by estimated meter reading and didn't accept actual meter reading. While I was searching for a solution, they sent me overdue bill and threatened me for debt collector. I could manage to go back to British Gas, and I hope I will not get another bill from UW.
