“Stay Away...Absolute Joke: Placed an order, pretty routine. Received an email from Vitacost confirming order and that it had been shipped and would be arriving by Mar. 5. On Mar. 4, went to track order only to find -- Vitacost had no record of ANY order. When I contacted customer service, they told me because the billing address on my card did not match the shipping address...Um, I was picking it up at Walgreen's -- per Vitacost's offer...much like Amazon does with Whole Foods...absolutely makes no sense at all....when I contacted Vitacost via its chat line to resolve, I got an entirely different story -- told it was "maybe" due to a "procedural error" and told me to have a nice day. Yeah. Done with Vitacost.”
“I have been a customer for more than 10 years. They were a great company and great to work with as I have recommended them to many friends over the years. I placed an order in November and never received the order. I placed order in 01/11/26 received confirmation email and never received the product. I called they are so unresponsive and confused. No one to talk to with any authority and no explanation why order was cancelled. I’m sad to say this wonderful company is no longer worthy of our business. Save yourself the headache and use a company that takes care of the customer even if it cost you a couple of bucks.”
“They used to have wonderful shipping and fast customer service. Last order had several items missing, no packing material, the inside of the box was filthy, and the items that did arrive were unusable. They refunded the damaged items that arrived but the missing items they disputed and have not refunded. They are responsible for missing items. Terrible customer service.”
“I want to leave a complaint about the delivery on my Toms Toothpaste order. The package was not even left in my neighborhood. It was left outside the gates. I got lucky that a Homeowner’s Association member found it and told me. I don’t know how many days it was left out there. You guys hired Airtran to deliver it, and it was totally unacceptable.
I like your company, but if you are going to use Airtran again, you can forget me as a customer.”
“They lied and said they shipped but had only printed a shipping label in Kentucky. They are collecting sales tax for my state but not remitting that tax to my state. Their product quality is poor.Their pricing has become cost prohibitive and their products have become unaffordable for many customers that have been with them a decade.AVOID them and their MARKETING SCAM false discounts.”

TWICE I received vit C so OLD it was dark brown.
Shipping issues happen often. I had to notify THEM last time an order was damaged & never made it to me.
Customer service is ignorant and they don’t understand my messages.
They sell out of sale priced items regularly.
THREE TIMES fish oil I purchased was all stuck together, indicating it was bad.
I could go on, but I’m over it all and will be using a better supplier going forward.”

My last order had a free product as a bonus. Before shipment, they notified me the nonus product was now out of stock. A literal avalanche of issues as of late. “Vitacost is an EXTREMELY DISHONEST outfit. They offer you a 20% discount and then prevent you from checking out. I then phoned them. The representative tells me that it is true the code applies but that I should pay the amount that is wrong because their website is broken and they can do nothing about it! I buy online and if this had happened with another outlet they would correct it manually. The rep also refused to allow me to speak to a supervisor saying it was a "small" purchase. The purchase total before the discount was $70.77.”

“Over the years I have spent thousands of dollars with Vitacost. They used to provide excellent service. Unfortunately, that is no longer the case. They cancelled an order I had place without even advising me. I placed that order with a different company. I tried Vitacost again. They sent me a "Verification" email, requesting that I provide all of the information I have been using for years. I was told my order would ship within 24 hours of providing this information. Did it? Absolutely not! They do not value long term clients who spend thousands of dollars with them. I am so disappointed!”
“We've been buying from Vitacost for over 4 years but in the last year we have had multiple bad experiences including receiving product with very short (a month) expiration dates, packages arriving broken, items being omitted from order and then blaming it on the warehouse and receiving items we didn't order. Most recently we have had multiple terrible experiences with customer service who don't understand what is being asked, don't have answers and when they can't help won't transfer to a supervisor. Our most recent order was the worse so far because without telling the customer, Vitacost changed their shipping policy which resulted in our order not being delivered and returned to the shipper but when I called customer service they couldn't explain what happened and didn't have a way to rectify this. To make things worse we asked for a refund and a week later discovered that Vitacost canceled the refund with no notification or explanation. I only discovered this by contacting them again and was told that they cancelled it because they hadn't received the item but then didn't let me know or put in a new refund. Vitacost is no longer a convenience and is very difficult to deal with and unreliable. They are also no longer trustworthy or safe and no longer have customer service people who are well trained, and have the knowledge to to the job.”
“Been with vitacost for many years now. Customer service not friendly at all anymore. Received a sealed box with zn open bag of chips spilled all over in the box. No apologies! I had used $20 in bonus money from a previous order. Could not combine with discount that was going on at the time. All other companies let ypu combine because it's a bonus not a discount. Something changed at vitacost not the same anymore. Very disappointed in them . Unlikely that i will be buying from them anymore.”
“I received a confirmation email after I ordered and then I waited and never heard anything. I finally called and they said my order was cancelled due to some kind of delay. I NEVER received an email stating that my order was cancelled. I called and they said that I had to reorder - I asked if they could wave the shipping and ship it faster and they said "NO." This is absolutely wrong and very unprofessional. I was told I would get an email that my order was cancelled and I've never received one. This is very unprofessional - the customer service person was very unempathetic and sounded more like a robot without caring, understanding or offering anything to get me my product which I had been counting on. I decided to just order from Amazon.”
