“I used Volumio on a Raspberry PI 4 for a while and moved to Raspberry OS + MPD to have more flexibility installing other software and using some features that were not free on Volumio. Now testing it again and it is great. I wish pure MPD was as smooth as it in the web interface. I would recommend a feature to import playlists from Windows”

“Recensione Volumio: L’Eccellenza dell'Audiofilia "Made in Italy" Se c'è un software che incarna la passione italiana per il bello e il ben fatto nel mondo del digitale, quello è senza dubbio Volumio. Nato come un progetto di nicchia per appassionati, si è evoluto in un ecosistema completo che sfida i giganti internazionali del calibro di Roon. 🛠️ Software: Minimalismo al Potere Il cuore pulsante di Volumio è la sua interfaccia. È minimale, pulita e incredibilmente fluida. Uno dei suoi più grandi pregi è la facilità di installazione: basta "flashare" l'immagine su una SD card e in pochi minuti il tuo Raspberry Pi o PC diventa un player di rete Hi-End. Facilità d'uso: Gestire la propria libreria musicale, che sia su NAS, hard disk locale o servizi streaming (Tidal, Qobuz, Spotify), è un gioco da ragazzi. Funzionalità: Nonostante l'aspetto pulito, sotto il cofano c'è di tutto: supporto bit-perfect, riproduzione DSD, Multiroom e un sistema di plugin che permette di personalizzarlo all'infinito. 🔌 Hardware: Rapporto Qualità-Prezzo ai Vertici Volumio non è solo codice. I loro dispositivi fisici, come il Primo, il Rivo e il nuovo Motivo, sono progettati con una cura maniacale per il percorso del segnale audio. Il design è moderno e distintivo. Le prestazioni sonore competono con streamer che costano il doppio o il triplo. Nota di merito: Acquistando l'hardware Volumio (come il Rivo o il Primo), la licenza Premium è spesso inclusa nel dispositivo per sempre, il che è un vantaggio enorme. Il "Ma": Il Dilemma dell'Abbonamento Arriviamo alla nota dolente che molti utenti, giustamente, sollevano. In un mondo dove ogni servizio (dalla TV al caffè) richiede un canone mensile, l'ennesimo abbonamento per far suonare la propria musica può risultare pesante. Sebbene Volumio offra una versione gratuita molto solida, le funzioni "golose" (come l'integrazione nativa di Tidal/Qobuz o il Multiroom) richiedono il piano Premium. 💡 Il Desiderio: La Licenza Lifetime (Modello Roon) Molti utenti condividono la tua stessa visione: la voglia di "comprare e non pensarci più". L'esempio di Roon: Roon offre una licenza "Lifetime" che, pur essendo costosa, garantisce tranquillità all'utente che vuole investire nel lungo termine. Perché sarebbe la scelta vincente: Una licenza a vita per il solo software Volumio permetterebbe a chi usa hardware proprio (come un Raspberry Pi personalizzato) di sentirsi "proprietario" del proprio sistema, eliminando l'ansia della scadenza mensile. In Conclusione Volumio è un prodotto eccezionale, un orgoglio nazionale che dimostra come l'Italia sappia dire la sua anche nel software audiofilo. Se riuscissero a introdurre un'opzione di acquisto unico definitiva (senza promozioni limitate nel tempo), diventerebbe probabilmente lo standard imbattibile per ogni appassionato.”

“I’ve been using Volumio for years now on my raspberry pi’s, 2, 3 and now 4. I use the free version and it suits me as all I want to do is listen to my music. It works brilliantly. I have 300+ albums of various genres and formats and it handles them all superbly.”

“I used it for quite some time on a Raspberry Pi 3 to enjoy high-resolution digital music, but it suddenly ceased to function for reasons unknown. Volumio, however, suffers from an excess of buttons and superfluous settings, and its user interface is rather complicated. There are far too many folders: Favorites, Playlists, Music Library, Artists, Albums, Last 100... My Topping DAC, a widely respected device, does not even appear on the list—how delightful it would have been to find a similar one included. I tip my hat and bid farewell, while reluctantly deducting one star.”

“I run Volumio Premium on an x86 PC + DAC with a Tidal subscription, and it works very well, especially when using the Volumio player to play music. Honestly, though, I would revamp the app's user interface along the lines of CORRD. I would integrate the Volumio player better with Tidal, so I can manage radio stations, playlists, and other music suggestions offered by Tidal. I can always use Tidal Connect for this, but it doesn't sound as good as the integrated Volumio player.”

“I run Volumio on a number of Raspberrys + HiFi-Berry. It is the perfect hub for my digital music as I can use a number of streaming plattforms, NAS, my own digital collection at the same time. As well I appreciate the ripping function and the music service of the premium version of Volumio. The fact that I can acess Volumio on my HiFiberry from any PC, laptop, mobile phone, tablet via WLAN is just great. Sharing playlist across devices (premium edition) is another great feature. Software issues are normally addressed within very short time by the team. For me, well worth the money!”

“Volumio používám velmi málo, jen několikrát do roka. Po poslední aktualizaci je RPI 4 velmi pomalé. Na dotykovém displeji nefungují tlačítka Play / Pause... Kdysi existoval i plugin s klávesnicí na displeji, nyní je nutné použít k ovládání jiné zařízení. Hromada funkcí nefunguje spolehlivě. Párkrát jsem i musel celý systém znovu přeinstalovat. Nepřipadá mi, že bych ještě za to měl platit.”

“Habe Volumio seit vielen Jahren im Dauereinsatz. Raspi streamt Musik von einer Synology an meine Nubert Aktivboxen. Läuft sehr zuverlässig. Durch Plugin-Erweiterungen kann man weitere Streamingdieste hinzufügen. Updates werden regelmäßig bereitgestellt. Sicher könnte man noch manches verbessern, aber im Großen und Ganzen bin ich sehr zufrieden - kann ich wirklich empfehlen.”
