“I was essentially "stuck" with purchasing this due to its dimensions fitting inside the space I have, and a set of American-made Rogue stands - which I would have preferred- not quite fitting. Just finished assembling - no real directions were given, but fairly easy to assemble - has a slight wobble to the uprights even though they are tightened as much as they'll go. Don't have a bar or weight on it yet, so I'm not sure at this point if it will turn out to be a good purchase or not. Free shipping was fast.”

Hi Zach, thanks for your review. We definitely want you to be fully satisfied with your purchase. There should be a diagram included in each box which shows the assembly, did you not receive this? When you say the uprights wobble. Are you just referring to the normal movement of upright square tubing? We used to make our squat stands in the US right here in NC. Even with the heaviest squat stand we made from 3x3 steel, which was more robust than any squat stand available, there was still the normal quiver from the steel beam. The One Basic Squat stand is made from 2x3 - 11 gauge steel just like the Rogue stand you mentioned. It bolts to the base in the exact same way as any squat stand made in this manner. Regardless of the point of manufacture, our products are not of low quality. Please let us know how the squat stand works out for you

“I love the 45lb bumper plates, why did I wait so long to get them?!? I utilize them for deadlifts, no oly lifting or dropping from overhead but I can't believe how much smoother my reps are now. It's great to be able to hold my last rep as long as possible with no worries about dropping and damaging my platform or subfloor.”

“If there were stars, I would give five out of five! I have a friend with rogue bumper plates that cost more and I think these are even better quality. The inserts definitely live up to the high standard they claim. Second, customer service was fantastic. After I ordered they verified my address within hours (because I share a zip-code with another town and it just always makes things confusing). I didn't receive my two 15lb plates in the shipment but when I called, I think her name was Amanda, and she immediately put in the shipment for me and I received them a couple days later with no hassle. The two different people I spoke to at Vulcan were pretty cool and very helpful and the product is very high quality.”

“I've been able to use the bar now for a few weeks. Bushings in bar are fantastic. Very smooth. Knurling is as close to perfect as I can ask for. The smoother knurl in the center is just right to give enough bite on your shirt for squats. My gripe: The finish of the bar. The collars are finished great. The bar not so much. The coating is not even and came and looks scratched. I know the finishing on all bars will eventually where but I was pretty disappointed in the matte zinc finish to be honest. I expected better uniform unscratched bar after dropping close to $400. But the finish doesn't detract from the finish of the bar.”

“The Vulcan One barbell has been good overall. I do have an issue with the black coating coming off so easily. I do understand that it has to be ultra thin for the knurling not to be affected too much. Also the knurling on the middle part of the barbell is very weak. The outer part is perfect. I almost returned it for this reason but decided it was too much trouble. All in all good product and follow up customer service. -Michael C.”

The bar looks, performs, and feels great so far. Knurling on it is what I was looking for and the bar is real smooth. Snatches and Cleans feel solid vs what we have at the box. Ordering from the site was simple and delivery was great! I would suggest this bar if it's in your budget it a steal at this price.”

“Rack order was processed and shipped promptly. Order was received very fast and that process was great. The rack came with what looks like cosmetic defects and lines in the rack. Also came with shipping damage. Contact Vulcan and got a response but nothing more that defect is cosmetic and we are hope you are happy. No offer to replace or help take of issue. Two out of the ten bolts we too large for the adapter plate that holds rack together. What should have been a very simple assembly turned into a 30 min process due to what looks like poor quality control. Have to say a tad disappointed in the fact no additional follow up or assurance has come from Vulcan since expressing my concern.”

Hi Chad, Question: The bolts were too large for the base? Did the bolts not fit at all, or the bolts fit tightly? Holes and bolts are all the same sizes. Powder coating adds thickness to the surface of the steel and can make the bolts fit tighter but should be easy to tap in with a mallet/hammer. Normal assembly time is 20-30 min. As for the shipping damage would you like us to file a claim for the two scratches? The rack was packed in double wall cardboard boxes along with multiple pieces of bubble wrapping and strapping tape. We do as much as we can on our end to protect the product before shipment but as stated in our shipping policy, we are not responsible for shipping damage by the carrier. “Fast shipping, packaging could have been better but the bar was in good condition. This bar feels awesome and it has handled all the weight I have put on it and dropped. My only actual complaint about the bar is the knurling is a little sloppy by the markings and the end of the bar. Other than that the bar is perfect and everything I was expecting from the reviews.”
