I've never actually had a purchase experience that has left me with the sort of revulsion I have felt with my purchase through Vulcan. Actual revulsion, and if it were not for the cost and effort it would take at my own personal inconvenience and expense, I would return every single bumper plate, bar, and the unusable rack I received. The equipment I have received is good enough. But in a market that is saturated with plenty of good products, I prioritize customer service over cost. Almost 3 weeks later, the wait continues for them to rectify their error. The service number they provide is inconsistently answered, more often than not it disconnects after a wait period. Email along the same lines. The latest shipping label still sits in pending status 2 days later... I get it, they're experiencing high volume. However, if you can't manage the volume in your queue, stop taking new orders until you can. Taking people's money while you try to get yourself sorted out isn't a best practice.

I have an order coming at some point and I can’t reach customer service to add a lift to the delivery. I ended up doing it through FedEx myself. I also noticed the documentation doesn’t match in liability emails (one says a lift gate is $45 and the other $65). I called the 877-986-4313 number and got hung up on within 1 minute 3 times. It sure seems like this company doesn’t care about their customers. Maybe they’ll care if I leave a bad review.

Its so hard to figure out where to start with Vulcan. I ordered March 19 at the beginning of the lockdown for Coronavirus. I understand that it was a hectic time for garage gym equipment suppliers, but as an owner of my own small business I can't really let everything that happened slide. I ordered two items on March 19. A shipping label was made and I was told it would ship Monday. When it didn't ship Monday I figured it was crazy and would go out in the next days. One week passed, then two. On week three I decided to try to get in touch with them, since they said on their own site and instagram they were experiencing a backlog and order shouldn't take longer than two weeks. I finally got someone on the phone the third day in a row I called and she told me she didn't know anything about my order and that they didn't have an internal tracking system. The internal tracking system is called your feet and your eyes. I've been inside the warehouses of companies that sell weightlifting equipment, they aren't that big. It takes less than 30 seconds to walk across the warehouse and maybe another minute or two of digging, but I was told there is no internal tracking system. I then wrote them at the month mark on Instagram, and was told the same thing. I responded to their boilerplate copy and paste message saying that it shouldn't take longer than two weeks that it had been four and I got no response. Well, I've got good news and bad news. 32 days after I placed my order I got the notice that my package was shipping, but they only had 1 of the 2 items in stock. I was getting a refund for the thing they didn't have a $7 gift card.... I think that might cover the difference in shipping, but I won't be ordering from them again. There is no chance I can find the other item i ordered at this point, so I really appreciate them making it impossible to find with their incompetence. 36 days after I first ordered i received the largest pair of change plates I have ever seen. This is a business that can't communicate, continues to take orders when they aren't shipping out what they have already sold, doesn't keep any track of their inventory, and possibly sells items out from under customers who have already ordered because they are so disorganized. All I can say is use a company that hires people who say things other than "We don't have an internal tracking system" and cares about taking care of their customers.

Still haven't received all items from my order, which was placed on Black Friday. It's been nearly 3 months, and Vulcan customer support claims they have no idea when the rest of my order will be available. Poor customer service all around.

Ordered a pair of 45 pound alpha bumpers and a long sleeve t shirt on 6/11/22. The bumpers are great and arrived in a reasonable time frame. Today is 6/25/22 but I still haven’t received the shirt. I contacted customer service and the person I spoke to was rude and not helpful. Maybe just stick with buying equipment and not apparel from Vulcan.

I will absolutely never purchase from this company again. To that point, I will ensure that anyone who is even thinking about buying weights or strength training equipment, that they buy it literally from anywhere but here.

Recently purchased the Safety Squat Bar and immediately fell in love. From the security of the packaging to using the bar itself. This bar allows the user to accomplish squatting with minimal to no upper back discomfort.

I purchased a 140 kilo bumper set. Nice plates ,there was an issue with UPS sending a plate back on their own. Reached out to customer service ,took a couple of weeks to resolve this and it really difficult to get them on the phone. I had wanted to cancel the order but they wouldn't allow me to do that ,it took awhile to get the bumpers in transit . Once they got here there was the issue with the missing bumper, which wasn't on Vulcan. On the fence about getting a bar from them.

I ordered a pair of black bumper plates from Vulcan; they were the first purchase of my home gym, yet the last to arrive. The time it took to arrive was outside the range they specified, yet customer service argued with me over it. Even more disappointing was the fact that the plates were scuffed and scratched when they arrived. I didn’t even want to deal with this company anymore, so I got rid of them right away instead of needing to pay a ridiculous $20 restocking fee for a return. I would give 0 stars if possible. I should have known from looking at their site that Vulcan is a third tier company and lacking in every aspect of its industry. Neither their products nor their customer service are of the quality they need to be at. I will never make the mistake of doing business with Vulcan again.

Ordered the Vulcan Ox Bar, an open trap bar. The Ox Bar arrived in terrible condition. 1. The packaging is minimal. The sleeves were not tied down so they banged into the frame during transit causing nicks and scratches to both frame and sleeves. 2. The frame has metal filings inside and I'm unable to shake it out. The entire thing rattles like a macarena when lifting. 3. Both fat grip handles have substantial rust on them. 4. One of two skinny grip handles is loose with a lot of play when lifting. I tried tightening with two allens but the handle length is too short and the bolt hole is too large for the hex bolt. There was NO quality control for this product. On Vulcan's website, they say, "If an item is received damaged, please contact Customer Support. All items that leave our warehouse are thoroughly inspected and well packaged." The item was NOT thoroughly inspected and well packaged. Besides the obvious manufacturing defects, the packaging is terrible. Reached out to Vulcan... the response time has been lengthy and ultimately, they're unable to fix the problem. I understand they don't have spare parts for the Ox bar. They're asking me to return the bar, which is a PITA as I'll have to purchase a shipping box since the original packaging was so badly damaged during transit. Very frustrating experience especially given the cost of the bar. Might as well have ordered the Eleiko Oppen trap bar and pay extra for the assurance of quality and customer service.

I emailed customer service about some blemishes on the steel insert of the plates I received. They took the time to explain their manufacturing process and the nature of the materials used, which I appreciated. I think they would do well to set expectations on certain aspects of their products, i.e. "not uniform in appearance," and posting more than one picture of a product, at multiple angles, etc.

My only complaint is that the bar arrived with slight blemishes on the sleeves and small nicks at the edge of the end caps, like a single ridge on the edge of a quarter. When contacting customer service requesting either a discount to keep or a hassle free exchange (for hopefully a non damaged bar), they exclaimed that the bar was “made by humans and packaged by humans and therefore impossible not to leave some type of mark.” This is a) not true, since I’ve received equipment from other companies in flawless condition (I’ve also received equipment damaged far worse in transit due to poor packaging, for what it’s worth), and b) off-putting. Just apologize and offer the discount or offer the exchange free of charge. They also said “attached is the RMA and return shipping label so you can return the bar.” Um... that wasn’t one of my choices, and why would you assume I want to return? Why not say something like “if you’d like to return?” Even all the disclaimers warning what is and isn’t allowed in posting a review are off-putting, and somewhat contradictory. Amazing bar, smug and off-putting customer service. I will continue to buy Vulcan products because they are excellent, but their customer service leaves much to be desired.

The weights I received were the correct weight and are awesome. However, the squat stand was in poor condition, and I see no easy means of contacting customer service concerning it.
