“Terrible
Ordered wine as 25%off
Paid next day delivery and it never arrived, emailed customer service no response… called customer service and explained!
First off no apologies offered by customer service representative no idea what has happened? I asked maybe I should receive a refund on next day delivery costs? The I was told I would be called back.
No call no wine but taken my money..
Awful customer service Waitrose
Thought better of this business too ☹️😔”
“Wanted to take advantage of 25% offer - not all wines included. When I came to pay, couldn’t use gift vouchers I had (would not have put in order if been told that at the start). Continued with order which said 3-5 days for delivery. Took much longer and not kept up to date on when would be delivered.”
“Reid vodka is really smooth and delicious, and I’d recommend everyone tries it!! The reason for a four star review and not a five star review is because the white box that it is presented in, was covered with dirty fingerprints - luckily the recipient of the gift was very understanding.”
“Placed an order online as the wine I wanted was not available in store. Received an email telling me C&C would be delayed, next day received another email saying my order needed to either be refunded or I would be informed of redelivery. 3 days later, still nothing so I phone them to ask for a refund. 2 days later, still haven’t heard back and still no refund. The lack of communication is baffling.”
“ordering on line is awful 3 cards all not accepted. such a shame . really annoying when i wanted to buy wine for christmas at a reduced 25%. interesting that”
“I have used them a number of times over several years and there is a good selection of wines at reasonable prices. However, online ordering is atrocious. I tried to place an order both yesterday and today and they have lost all account details as they are revamping their database.. They claim on the website to offer free, named day delivery on orders over £250, but they don't. Finally the site currently does not accept credit cards (says it does but it doesn't). What a shower.”
“Ordered 6 bottles of champagne for a major celebration that’s happening on the 1/9.
Spoke to “Josh” on the 30/8 who told me I had given them ample time to get the order to me.
DHL emails me late at night on the 30/8 to say the order will be delivered on the 2/9.
I almost had a heart attack. Then, they followed that up with another email telling me it had been changed to the 4/9, I needed a coronary bypass by that time.😱
We are now toasting with tea.
I will never rely on Waitrose ever again.”
“I could not find how to get to the delivery address for pick up at Gillingham Dorset Waitrose. Phoned the helpline. Rude, bad attitude and spoke to me as if I was and idiot. More training of staff. Disgusting service”
“Shocking packaging, left 2 expensive bottles bouncing around in a box full of space, with no packing material. I complained and just got an automated response, never heard anything else from anyone human. Avoid if you want your stuff in 1 piece.”
“Absolutely terrible service. I ordered wine for my husbands birthday and paid for a specific delivery so i could be there to receive it. It didnt arrive so I called customer services, three times in total. Twice I was told it would still be delivered that day, and on the third occasion I was told it would be delivered the following day. It was delivered a day late and left outside in the rain. My husband came home and found his present sopping wet and 5 days before his birthday. I have emailed customer services and 10 days later they have yet to say anything helpful.”
“Order was placed and acknowledged on 23 June 2021. According to the acknowledgment email 'Standard delivery would be 'on or before Thursday 01/07/21’. Non delivery, with no communication. Complained and pretty useless excuses from customer services that it was a busy time and one bottle out of a much larger order was not in stock. Not a reasonable reason for not delivering a much larger order. Basics of customer satisfaction is not to promise things if too busy, but always keep the customer informed if there is any problem, even if not a believable issue. Latest communication being that wine might be delivered at the end of this week. 9th July? Dreadful service and a joke of customer service.”

“What a mess! First time I ever used them to order a few bottles. Order went through, got delivered a few days later and then I receive a call from DHL office saying they want to take the box back tomorrow. Just like that without any explanation. I say what's wrong? They have no meaningful answer simply saying they have been instructed to collect the box which they delivered a day before. What kind of mess is this? No information about any of this from Waitrose. Dead silence and no one to contact. No contact number or anything and DHL have no clue what's going on. So tomorrow I am supposed to wait all day for my box which I ordered and paid for to be taken back... and yet more mess and inconvenience trying to resolve this. I really regret wasting my time with them. And now more time to be consumed dealing with this. They charge such huge mark-up for allegedly "better" service. Very disappointing.”
“Delivery was extremely disappointing. Only received half of my order, was treated like it was my fault and had to chase them multiple times. Bad customer service will not be ordering again.”
