“I like not having to test the pool chemicals. I like that when the conditions aren't ideal, there are actions provided to remedy the conditions. I have a saltwater pool. I wish it measured salt content. The Android app interface could be improved. The app has a push notifications setting, but I get few push notifications.”
“I like the product but the support is woefully inadequate. I've sent 2 water samples in and never received a response. I've had questions and left messages and got no reply. If you could develop a chemical delivery system that would attach to the inflow by the pump I would purchase it immediately. The current system sitting over the skimmer on the pool deck doesn't work.”
“The whole point of the device is for super easy monitoring of the pool. However, it’s nothing but a super expensive thermometer. All the other measures are highly inaccurate.”
“My WaterGuru Sense takes the guesswork out of how pH and chlorine levels are changing over time. Especially since I'm a little colorblind, the system is invaluable compared to test strips.”
“We enjoy our daily Water Guru readings. It's much easier than visiting the pool store frequently. WG allows us to determine when to add acid to keep the PH at the correct level. It also helps me set my chlorine generator at the right percentage during seasonal changes. WG is a vital tool for us in complete pool care.”
“This is the best thing I have purchased in a long time. Since I installed my Guru I never have a green pool. It tells me what chemical to put in and how much and that's it BOOM!”
“Love my water Guru it takes the guess work out of pool maintenance. The app is easy to use and if there is an issue the alert is sent to my phone so I know immediately.”
“Not at all as advertised. This product would be great if it worked as advertised. Unfortunately, the flow sensor rarely works and the Test is useless, so the only useful info I get from day to day is water temp, free chlorine and pH. I could get a $30 test kit for that.
I sent in a Test sample because it is advertised as a free service, but it took 3 months to get results. I ended up giving up and going to my local pool products provider a month after I sent in the test to WaterGuru. I couldn’t wait any longer to get a test done.
The other big complaint I have with this product is the website. It is pretty much useless. The how-to videos are for a different version of the product and they don’t really help with troubleshooting or problem solving. If your product works exactly like it should (and it doesn’t) then the website has info. But you won’t need it because if you figured out the batteries and app installation on your own then you are better off than if you log into the webpage.
If you do log into the page, ignore the chat icon because nobody is there. The only way to communicate consistently is via email. It’s still not effective communication but it is fairly quick. They respond within a day every time.
Overall, I would not recommend this product to anyone. It is a great idea and would be awesome if it worked, but as it is now, your are paying about $200 more than you need to pay for the information and service you are getting.”
“The WaterGuru Treat and WaterGuru Sense are good products doing their tasks with minimum interactions with me. I am able to take weekend trips without worrying that my pool water will become unbalanced. Their phone app is relatively easy to use.”
“I haven't been the greatest at monitoring my pool water, until now. The water guru changed my pool maintenance for the better. I thought it looked good, but now it looks great. I've sent my water sample in twice for testing (waiting for the second sample results). They test it and the results are on my app, with advice on any adjustments that are needed.
Set-up was simple, I have a strong wifi signal, so there was no issues with that.
The app does what it needs to and is easy to navigate.
It would be nice if it tested for a couple other things, but, if you keep the chlorine and pH in check the others, will balance for the most part.
Water is tested everyday. You can set the time out tests or let it choose the best time based on your pump on times. I wouldn't mind if it tested the water every other day or every three days.”
