Fantastic time, just chilled out after Xmas. Extremely friendly staff, lodge immaculately clean, food second to none. We have even spoilt ourselves with a massage every week, absolute heaven!! We would love to come back for summer sun. Thank you

We had a lovely time! The lodge could do with a little TLC but it is getting near the end of season so to be expected. Our lodge backed onto a field full of cows - my grandchildren loved it. It is a quiet camp site which I was expecting, there is a lovely swimming pool and we did take a trip on the ferry. We found plenty to do, this site is out of the way but we planned trips out anyway - we visited Pettitts Animal Park, Africa Alive, Yarmouth Sea Life Centre, Gorleston beach and Roar (dinosaur park). The grandchildren had the best week and we got to relax in the hot tub once they went to bed. The pub on site does the most amazing food. The staff are lovely and very helpful. I will be returning :-)

Lovely site and location. Just a couple of moans. My family stayed in 2 pods for 3 days , so needed fridge, was told communal fridge on site . No fridge only freezer. also Inn not serving evening meals only breakfast and lunches. Pods very basic so needed facilities mentioned. Would they stay again yes but not in a pod. Didnt want to drive anywhere being a short stay. Fortunately they had me as backup. We were in a campervan and managed to put the cold bits in our little fridge ot

I have also just come back from holiday at Waveney. We came back 2days early as there isn’t anything to do on the site apart from the swimming pool which we used. Took our dog planning to go on lots of walks with her along the river as mentioned on the website but was not told all the walks were the other side of the river, which was reached by a ferry that was out of action. So just ended up walking on the road. Also the shop was poorly stocked couldn’t even get a newspaper and milk was in short supply. Ended up going into Beccles. I was hoping to park my car and not have to drive much. No complaints with the lodge which was very nice but didn’t want to spend a week sitting in that.

Arrived to find dishwasher full of dirty plates and glasses, the foot ferry was not working so unable to go for any walks, the waveney inn is disappointing to say the least, no atmosphere at all. Thought we would hire a day boat- unfortunately not, they don’t hire them out until Easter, asked at reception why this is not advertised on there website ‘I don’t know what is on our website’ was the response I got, that’s helpful. Basically you have to drive everywhere, no long walks to go on, which when they advertise as a dog friendly resort is a joke. You have to pay for internet separately aswell. Been to numerous lodges over the years and this is the worst site by far.

From the marketing I had read before our visit I was very much looking forward to our stay. However on arrival we drove through the site and was very dissapointed with the overall look of the site. The planted areas were left to grow wild and not cared for. Some of the lodges were unkempt looking giving the overall impression of a neglected site. We went into the shop which was really poorly stocked we wanted bread but there was none - not even the offer of part baked frozen bread which we would have been happy with. We felt anxious about what the lodge was going to be like inside however we were pleasantly surprised it was cleen warm and very welcoming and the welcome pack was a lovely touch. The hot tub was cold (which we were given notice of on arrival) but it remained cold the next day. We left the next day as we felt our holiday had been spoiled and we didn't want to be walking around such an unkempt area. I did call on our way home to report and I spoke to a lovely lady who received my feedback very proffesionaly 'if we dont know about it we can't do anything about it' was what she said and we appreciated that. We stay in lodges on sites regularly and we can say this is the worst we have ever stayed on. It is completely mis-marketed.

Great experience from start to finish. Cabins well equipped and cleaned thoroughly. Waveney Inn served great food with a warm welcome during our stay. Kids loved the swimming pool and play area. Will return for next year so we can hire a day riverboat in the summer.

A lovely hideaway by the water. Due to the time of year it was extremely quiet, which suited me. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the pool was an extra treat, although it would have been nice if it was open earlier or later to accommodate someone exploring the area during the daytime.

This is the 2nd time staying in the large accommodation and I have to say as much as we loved it the standard has slipped. There was dents in wall by 1st bedroom, smoke alarm hanging off in kitchen, something stuck on ceiling in lounge, sofa worn out and very uncomfortable with leather bald in areas. Dining room furniture by hot tub ruined by rain and not suitable garden furniture and no workable Wi-Fi. We have booked again for December 2022 as it suits our group but hope it might have refurb by then

We were really unlucky with tremendous storms and gales, being on Heron pitches we spent many sleepless hours concerned for our safety being under the huge poplars. Being on a muddy pitch wasn't ideal with two dogs either. Unfortunately, the weather being so bad meant it wasn't possible to enjoy the site's facilities and ended up heading to Lowestoft then Kessingland. Hopefully, we will be able to enjoy the site more on our next visit.

Great location on the river. Access is tricky with a caravan and the charge for taking our dog seemed expensive, perhaps if there was a dog shower I could justify the extra cost. Overall a good holiday

The staff were excellent and responded immediately to the problems we experienced with the lodge. The lodge was very basically equipped so when the dishwasher wouldn,t work ( which should have been picked up before we arrived ) and washing up by hand had to be done there was only one tea towel provided and this was not improved upon. The staff should have responded to this situation without being prodded but nothing was forthcoming so overall a bit disappointing. Nothing was done to rectify the lack of a dishwasher after the member of staff confirmed that it was defective, no visit no apology nothing.
