A lovely hideaway by the water. Due to the time of year it was extremely quiet, which suited me. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the pool was an extra treat, although it would have been nice if it was open earlier or later to accommodate someone exploring the area during the daytime.

This is the 2nd time staying in the large accommodation and I have to say as much as we loved it the standard has slipped. There was dents in wall by 1st bedroom, smoke alarm hanging off in kitchen, something stuck on ceiling in lounge, sofa worn out and very uncomfortable with leather bald in areas. Dining room furniture by hot tub ruined by rain and not suitable garden furniture and no workable Wi-Fi. We have booked again for December 2022 as it suits our group but hope it might have refurb by then

Great location on the river. Access is tricky with a caravan and the charge for taking our dog seemed expensive, perhaps if there was a dog shower I could justify the extra cost. Overall a good holiday

The staff were excellent and responded immediately to the problems we experienced with the lodge. The lodge was very basically equipped so when the dishwasher wouldn,t work ( which should have been picked up before we arrived ) and washing up by hand had to be done there was only one tea towel provided and this was not improved upon. The staff should have responded to this situation without being prodded but nothing was forthcoming so overall a bit disappointing. Nothing was done to rectify the lack of a dishwasher after the member of staff confirmed that it was defective, no visit no apology nothing.

We had a lovely stay in the Herringfleet Lodge but want to bring three issues to your attention. The mattress on one of the single beds needs replacing- I could feel the springs and had to lay my dressing gown on it before I go to bed. Secondly, the shower in the ensuite needs attention. It is very hot and we were unable to make it cooler- this could be very dangerous if a child were to use it. Finally, the lock also needs attention as it is very difficult to unlock and lock from the outside - it feels like the workings inside the lock needs replacing.

Reception staff and ground staff friendly and helpful. Toilet and showers sharing one cubicle nice idea. Site location - 👍. Pitches well set out. Bar drinks good choice, food was a let down.

Beautiful place, miles from civilisation. Rooms amazing although the toilets in ours and others a little noisy especially during the night. Breakfast at the inn was very good but the evening menu was quite limited I’m guessing it is because it’s November! The pool was rather disappointing as the jacuzzi was closed and there were discarded pill packets and dirty used plasters laying on the floor near to the jacuzzi. The pool was ok and not cold. The service from all areas has been excellent and we would definitely stay here again.

Great location, helpful and friendly staff, comfortable room. Would go again but the addition of a couple of chairs in the room would be good. A few groaning noises from the tap in another room did wake my wife up but she is a light sleeper! Breakfast was lovely with a pretty outlook over the marshes.

Lovely lodge, well equipped and warm the patio was lovely too in a lovely area - the reason for only 4 stars is because the mattress was so very thin I had to have a duvet doubled to sleep on top of the mattress!! Plus the large bed was impassable to get into the bedroom so had to be pushed across and we only just managed to squeeze past both sides - but that meant we could not shut bedroom door! We enjoyed ourselves regardless Thank you

A quiet location for a short break. Lodge was well presented and very clean. In common with many self catering properties, more tea towels, more dishwasher tablets and more crockery and cutlery would be helpful - as well as more than one toilet roll per bathroom! The staff we met were welcoming and the “pub grub” at the Inn was enjoyable.

It is in a beautiful location, only marred by the fact the roads are quite narrow to get there. There are lovely views across the river and marshes and there is lots of wildlife to see.

We had a wonderful 3 days stay. Friendly and helpful staff. Lodge was superb. Good amenities. Wonderful view. Loved the hot tub. The only criticism would be that a light on the end of the lodge overlooking the hot tub. would be beneficial to see the buttons to get the hot tub operational. We will definitely look to return.
