“Great centre - attractive lodge (Spa 3) with big lounge-dining-kitchen area. Lovely view of the marshes. Good to have free ferry to Carlton Marsh walk. Let-downs - not enough chlorine in hot tub, so it went smelly and murkey after 2 days, which I’ve never seen before. Beds uncomfortabe and creaky/wobbly.”

“We had a very nice stay as usual, it was peaceful, the site was tidy, the pitch very nice and we enjoyed using the swimming pool and visiting the waveney Inn too. The only reason it's 4 stars instead of 5 is that the jacuzzi was out of order (which looked quite long term) and more than half of the shower rooms were out of order which meant there were not enough for my family to have a shower at the same time, even when it wasn't busy.”

“We arrived late on Friday eve, very disappointed that hot tub was situated in car park space. Something that was misleading in pics. In pics overlooking beautiful landscape. The lodge itself was beautiful, warm amd cosy. Had a few issues with no hot water to bath, and shower the doors kept falling off its hinges. Did report, but we had to leave on the Sunday, a day earlier than expected. The grounds were beautiful. The swimming pool was lovely. Jacuzzi wasn't working bit didn't affect us. The restaurant we found was very expensive. But food was lovely. Overall, lovely stay, but disappointed about the false advertising re-hot tub.”

“Situated in a very quiet and lovely spot the River Centre is ideal for kids - swimming facilities, hot tubs, play areas and most Norfolk/Suffolk attractions reachable within an hours drive. The Centre itself boasts a great pub with a superb menu and a shop for those last minute/forgotten items. The accommodation we stayed in very spacious sleeping 6, clean and very modern. It warms up very quickly and provides a very relaxing living space. We would return in a flash.”

“Nice rooms in a beautiful location. Pub/restaurant nothing special but probably good for kids/young families and staff were friendly. Checkout at 10am seems unusually early but they did begrudgingly gave us an extra half hour upon request. Would be nice if pool were open a little later than 5pm and if the TV had better signal also. All in all a pleasant stay though”

Thanks for the review, Scott. Unfortunately, because the pool is unattended by any lifeguard, and is only monitored via cameras by reception, it can't stay open after reception closes. We're pleased that you had a nice time overall :)

“Friendly staff and the hot tub facility was good. Bath robes and slippers were a lovely touch. Pillows were hard and uncomfortable. Not the cleanest, lots of dust around curtains and black mould in shower area. Shower did got get very warm unless you ran a tap in the sink, which was rather strange! Shutter on bathroom door/window was filthy. Decor was modern and pretty, I especially liked the stone/bricked effect on the wall. Overall, a good stay, just wished the cleaning was of better standard.”

“Beautiful, clean room with excellent views. Staff were polite and helpful. Really lovely stay. Just a shame hotub was broken in pool area but it didn't spoil our stay.”

“We love coming here, this is our second visit & we have booked again to come next year. We mainly stay in the lodge due to the weather not being too great but that’s fine by us. We stay in the burgh staithe which sleeps 10. Only thing different from this year to last was that the fridge seal doesn’t seem to work, so fridge doesnt keep items that cold & the oven isn’t very good. These are probably due to the use though so not major. Tiles in main bathroom are cracked so will be good to see if these are replaced before we return. While we stayed there was a what we now know to be a hoax call, so there were fire engines, police & search & rescue turned up outside. After about 30 minutes we offered them tea which they accepted. I would have thought maybe someone from reception would have contacted us or come over to explain what was going on. But other than that 10/10 stay as always.”

“Well.. What a lovely weekend we have just had at Waveney River Centre. It poured with rain all weekend but mattered not a jot! Fabulous site with attentive friendly staff in a stunning location. Thanks we will be back xx”

“Lovely place, our second time staying in the burgh staithe lodge. Very clean generally however it is starting to look very tired. The sofas and arm chairs all need replacing ASAP as all the springs have gone in all of them and they are extremely uncomfortable. Curtains and cushions need a good wash as full of dust and are dirty. Suggestion.... need hooks on back of bedroom doors for dressing gowns etc. Above all an excellent stay and already booked it for next year. Abby and Lauren at the Waveney pub were excellent help and cheerful and polite.”

“We booked a 3 night break for birthday. We went go karting and played golf. Lodge was lovely, however on our last day we were unable to use the hot tub we called out of hours number for engineer who was unable to help so was quite disappointed”

“We had a lovely welcome when we arrived, The lodge was clean and well prepared for us the hot tub was nice and hot,, Lovely welcome goodies and really crispy clean bedding and wonderful fluffy white towels,,, We weren’t keen on the one wall being purple in the dining area, 2 sacks and 3 dishwasher tablets not enough if you don’t take it with you, you need to buy from shop, The pool was great, pub nice very quiet though and meals expensive we thought, This place is great for a family to have a great relaxing weekend, no one bothers you, the heating system is fantastic so warm and cosy,,”
