“Great place to stay for a river based holiday. Hire a boat for a day or a kayak or canoe (or bring your own) Nice quiet spot for fishing too. Take the free ferry across the river and walk 45 mins to Oulton Broad. If you are lucky, you might see some powerboat racing. The site has a small shop and an indoor pool, plus facilities for camping, caravanning, glamping and pods. Best of all are the lodges, with a mix of pet friendly and accessible lodges, most with hot tub. Great place for a quiet getaway. There is also a pub, with good drinks, but limited menu and small portions.”

“We had such a lovely time camping. We were on the Coot pitches (pitch 5) and thd location and setting was just perfect 👌. We were right by the river so my husband and children enjoyed lots of fishing. We even had a view of the park so could see the children playing from the tent. Toilets and shower blocks were brilliant compared to other sites we have stayed on.... individual toilets/showers and sinks all in individual units so you can use the toilet, shower and brush your teeth etc all in one place! Underfloor heating was amazing too in the toilet/showers! We used the pool twice whilst there which you need to pre book. Lovely and warm and clean. The staff were all really welcoming and helpful. Couldn't fault anything really... we did enquire about staying an extra night but it was going to cost almost twice what we paid for 2 nights ... that was the only disappointing but really that we didn't have long enough! If we go again which I'm sure we will, we would book 3 nights and get the ferry over to Carlton marshes. Thanks for a great stay!”

“The staff were exceptional nothing was to much trouble for them they made the holiday . Pool great shop had what you needed , days out on the boat had a whale of a time . The lodge was excellent beautiful clean and the hot tub nice and warm just what you needed after a day on the river the food in the restaurant was 5star loved Everything about the holiday.”

“Really enjoyed our two night stay in a yurt. Very comfortable and so warm with the wood burner on. Put our own fairy lights up for that extra touch and it looked amazing. Staff were so friendly and welcoming. Swimming pool warm, shower and toilet blocks very clean. Would definitely book again.”

“2nd time of staying (camping). Pitches well spaced out but signage needed for cars to indicate one way system in operation. Good views across marshes. During our stay site shop very poorly stocked, 2nd day no wine, beer or lager available or disposable BBQs after noon. Onsite pub very restricted - too much - for meals. Enquiring on sunday first slot was not available until the following thursday, loads of empty tables inside even allowing for Covid spacing, must be losing a fortune in revenue. Evenings noted for many people who were staying frantically trying to find Deliveroo, delivery or Just Eat options as they could not get a slot, families arriving with children must have been very disappointed and/or angry. Site overall tidy and well maintained but indoor pool seating area needs a very deep clean, rubbish under and down the back of seats. Enjoyed they stay but the pub meal situation a big let down”

“We had a tent camping spot in the centre of the site nearest to the pool. My 12 year old boy enjoyed the compact warm pool and the playground was perfect for socialising with new friends - when not raining. The games room is attached to the pool but was only open during the day. Its a shame that the games room is not available to children in the evening and should have been located close to the pub. The pub interior was closed and so was the pool changing rooms (apparently due to covid...). This all means that there was nothing social for the kids and parents to do together in the evenings. Friendly staff in restaurant and reception. Great warm well-designed loos and showers. Recommend this site for a very quiet sunny weekend away near the river.”

“We really enjoyed our time at the Waveney River Centre. We loved the swimming pool, and enjoyed canoeing and we also hired a 'Skipper' boat for the day. We ate at the Waveney Inn, which we enjoyed, although it was expensive. We did not like the noise after 10pm (until well after midnight one night), and early morning noise from 6am - the Saturday night was particularly bad for noise, but the rest of the week was better. The pitches are small (we were on Bittern) - our trailer tent only just fit on the pitch. The shop had quite a limited range of items. All in all though we enjoyed our holiday on this small friendly site.”

“From booking, checking and to checking out, everything was so easy to do. All of the staff were very friendly, polite and helpful making the whole stay/experience a very enjoyable one and I would have no hesitation to recommending this venue.”

“We had an excellent holiday at Waveney. The staff were welcoming and the facilities were excellent. Our only criticism was that the lodge felt a bit tired and in need of updating. The patio was quite weathered and dirty too.”

“We had an amazing time in a quiet and peaceful area. The accommodation was amazing and the staff super helpful and friendly. The location was really good, right on the broads and we can recommend hiring a day boat. The lodge we stayed in was extremely spacious, tidy and added to the great time and experience we had. Only recommendation I would give is for thicker curtains as the early sunrise makes the rooms bright even with them drawn. Luckily for us our children are up at the same time as the sun 🙄🤣 Thanks”

“Lovely centre in beautiful surroundings. Very helpful and friendly staff. We really enjoyed all the facilities. Our room in the Inn was great, very spacious and spotlessly clean with loads of storage. Would have been good if the Inn served more vegetables and lighter breakfast options but the food we had was delicious”
