Long walk to carry camping equipment with no car allowed. Would help to have trolley available. No food served unless table booked 24 hours ahead. Would help to know in advance.

Dissapointing. Described as luxury - it is not. It is tired. Clean, but very worn and in need of a facelift. The yurt we stayed in was disappointing, with a very uncomfortable bed and no outdoor seating. Add to this the long 2.5mile track down to the site.

We stayed in a pet friendly accommodation but it was dirty and we had family in another lodge and their lodge was new and felt like another place! We wouldn’t be booking again because of this. The curtain pole fell down in several places and nearly hit my son in the head Also the bathroom door in the en-suite was impossible to open and the lock on the main bathroom never worked The tv was awful yet other lodges had Netflix etc on their tv Dog water and food bowl was kept in the main washing up bowl which is not hygienic! I have attached pictures of the radiators and the dirt in every one is awful! A deep clean is highly recommended before other guests stay in there

Been here before and loved it. This time however i feel that the upkeep has dwindled some what. Just looked untidy. Grass and hedges over grown around caravan pitches. Needs new tap for drinking water as its the push button type that after filling a 40 litre barrel left your hands aching and hose kept coming off as the tap was orrible,LOL Although this is a dog friendly camp i could only find one pooh bin which was at the side of our toilet block. Saw some new arrivals end up arguing as gone to wrong pitch due to poor signage. Will go back but not for couple seasons. Perhaps covid has had a part to play.

Unfortunately I can rate it higher. The staff were helpful. But the whole weekend was a disappointment. The lodge we stayed in (Mutford) was old, tired, grubby and in need of a good overhaul. Considering it cost me £899 for what I worked out to be 64 hours in total I was expecting a bit more. I was upset about the state of accommodation it was very shabby. And with the amount of time I had to spend cleaning the kitchen area. On arrival everything had been crammed/rammed into the dishwasher which clearly didn’t clean the items and doesn’t work properly either. So I had to wash it up before we could cook anything. When we put it on again that evening the smell coming up from the drain was horrible. The back of the fridge was so iced up it was touching and freezing our food. The freezer was dirty. The oven belongs in a museum. The cutlery was all mismatched. The knives were blunt. The list just goes on really. The shop was closed due to Covid so you had to purchase bits from the ice cream kiosk. This was also closed. As a self catering site there was nothing in there. No bread milk or any basics. We arrived at 8pm and I needed milk for a bed time bottle. No shop around for miles so I had to purchase milk from the restaurant!. We were disappointed to only be allowed 30 minutes in the swimming pool. The restaurant was fully booked. Thank goodness they did a take away service as there wasn’t any food to purchase on site. We will not be returning to holiday at the Centre again and will not be recommending it to our friends or family.

If you want a cheep family holiday and access to boats then this is a good location. However, as a keen camper who loves the outdoors and wants peace and quite. For me this was far too commercial and too busy. I do not like commercial campsites like this where all the tents are crammed in next to each other. It is like living on a housing estate. My main complaint is the cost. £24 is a total rip off but I was struggling to find somewhere that had space as it was Saturday night. Tonight I am staying in a beautiful privately owned campsite which is an open field with acres of space between tents. It is very quiet and the toilets and showers are excellent. I also have my own fire pit. The cost? Only £12.

We stayed overnight in Escape pod 3. We paid £70+. We were not allowed to check in until 1pm and had to be up and checked out by 10am. This was a rush, couldn't relax. There are no drink making facilities or mini bbq to cook for your family in the escape pod area. Therefor we were forced to eat in the over priced restaurant. we paid £75 for 4 x main meals and 4 x desserts- extortionate. The meals were small portions with average quality of food. We wouldn't return as a family.

Stayed in camping pod, underneath mattress hadn’t been cleaned and with everything going on at the minute should of been cleaned a lot better. Was full of cobwebs and riddled with ants.

The pool arrangements are extremely poor. We booked in Feb and paid £78 for 1 night for 2 adults and a 5 year old in an escape pod which was supposed to include pool access with the check-in time of 13:00. Firstly the email confirmation I received 1 week previously stated the wrong check-in time so I had to phone them up. On the day we arrived on the dot and it took 20 minutes to be seen by someone in reception (2 people in front of us). Then when we got to the pool it was closed for lunch so we had to wait for it to open again and when it did we were informed it was fully booked until 12:00 the following day. Our checkout time was 11:00 so there was no chance of getting in. My son was in tears. I appreciate there are restrictions due to lockdown but it simply wasn’t fair. It was not possible to book a time slot in advance before we got there. The riverside and marshes are very picturesque and the escape pod was ok (right next to the pool-ironic) fairly spacious and dry but the blackout blind was broken and one of the doors didn’t shut properly. The step up is also quite steep so you have to be careful. We had lunch in the Waveney Inn, which was nice but the breakfast is quite overpriced if you order anything other than the full English. The country lanes on the approach to the site are also extremely narrow in places and 4 times I had to reverse over 200+ metres to find a passing place. Thank god we were only in a car. Never again.

The Heron caravan pitches are just too small. Unless you were a tent pitched near the waters edge it felt like being pitched in a car park. Also having to pay to use the slipway for you own kayaks etc is not right. It should be included in the cost of the campsite.

We were careful to ask about our pitch when booking. We were told the all bittern pitches had an elevated view over the marina. We were told we could not book a pitch with a camper on kingfisher or adjacent to the marina. We had no view and observed campers on kingfisher pitches and van adjacent to the marina. We felt let down and lied to. The condition of our pitch was appalling. 1/3 of it was dusty mud. It looks like years of poor maintenance rather than one dry season. It made it very difficult as we were not able to put anything on the ground. It's our opinion that the full row of bittern pitches should be removed to give more room to the yurts and avoid over crowding. The cleaning staff were friendly and good. The shop was poorly stocked. Pizza takeaway to the pitches is a good addition, although the pizzas were very small for the price. The pool was well organised although lots a bits floating in it. Overall a disappointing experience and it's very rare for us to have that conclusion having camped for 20 years all over the uk and europe.

I recently stayed here, check in was delayed due to extra cleaning, I can honestly say I don’t believe it had been deep cleaned the floors were dirty with dead insects everywhere. There was a massive problem with a strong smell of raw Sewerage was hard to relax with constant wafts of that.

We were dissapointed with a few factors, I will start with the good! Rooms nicely decorated and clean, good social distance measures(when people abide by them) most staff in restaurant polite, chef seems to be in charge! We arrived at 6pm on first night and no one to great us at reception so keys had been left with restaurant a nice lady showed us to our room, we went to the restaurant and had to wait for table to become available which we understood, however the wait for food and drinks took longer than expected (not many in the restaurant) breakfast was worse we seemed to be forgotten about it took 1 and a quarter hours in total and it was mediochre. No eye contact from staff at reception, I even had to ask if payment had been taken, there was no information explained about facilities available and if we needed any help with anything, receptionist had head down and on phone each time, no eye contact and no smile! Breakfast this morning was quicker but one pastry was raw. Overall not a great experience for the cost, we won't be coming back and will not recommend.

Aft cabin was meant to be a bit of luxury for a few days away. The room looked very nice on entry it was when sleeping it became apparent how poor it was. The sound coming from other rooms made it feel like the walls were made from very thin paper. Constant sound of humming from an external aircon unit. My son was up all night. Such a shame and spoilt what was meant to be a treat. Really dissapointed. Real shame as site was nice and enjoyed our breakfast.

Disappointed...The pitches are not maintained, full of ants and swasps nests, lots of bald patches very uneven and terrible scatchy weeds. Was not told about electric hook up, it was hidden in a bush. The cleaner told us where it was. Quiet time means strict quiet time. Terrible experience by a group of youngsters blasting music all day till way into the early hours of the morning on Friday our arrival day. They was told to keep quiet by the warden but soon as he left they just created more noise with there mouths, with the constant walking backwards and forewards, till way after 3am. Then on Saturday night two more groups of people turned up 80th birthday and they was just loud till after midnight, surely people should be made aware of the strict quiet time at 10pm and realise there the only ones making the noise. The restaurant was ok staff were good. The main manager seemed very friendly but that's just putting bums on seats. On the Saturday night we was asked to pop in for breakfast was never advised or asked to book a reservation. We turned up only to be turned away because the restaurant was full, because it had rained. It was only 10am? was extremely dissappointed as the manager seemed very friendly the night before and was insistent we went for breakfast. We had 2 and half hour drive home. There's not much sustainable food in the camp shop, and bare is very bare. I know it's only 15minutes to Morrisons beccles but seriously shouldn't need too, and who wants to travel down that dirt road too one. Not every one has coolboxes that plug in, and to also find out on the last day the Inn sells ice... terrible. I knicknamed your brown take out bottle that holds four pints as The 'Waveney Jack' as it reminded me of the 'scrumpy Jack cider from Cornwall. The staff at the river that do the day boats and pump out etc were very exceptional very knowledgeable and very pleasant. Unfortunately I don't think we will staying again soon, not unless your site improves. We left on Sunday morning couldn't wait to leave to be honest. We wanted a rest and stress free time, we came away knackered.

This is the 4th year my group of friends have come to the waveny River Centre and have to say how disappointed we were! The apartment was NOT clean, the floor was slippery with some sort of spray, my shower had a toenail in it and when you ran it, it was blocked up. The communal bathroom floor was cracked and tired. The kitchen blind was covered in squashed dead flies, chips out of cupboards, dirty sink, no ovengloves, when we first came 5 years ago there was 4 barstools, now only one! The whole place is tired and needs some work, especially when you are paying nearly £700 for a weekend! Finally the hottub which has been the draw for us going there,, has lost the handle so it's very heavy to open it, 2 headrests are lost, the other 2 are losing bits into the water, half the jets aren't working, and I wasnt sure how clean the water was? Such a shame, we have enjoyed some wonderful times there and was hoping to rebook again for our 5th year but would need to know all these issues will be resolved!

The lodge was nice however lots of marks, holes in the walls, scuffs on skirting boards. For £700 for 4 nights stay, you’d expect better really. The roadways have lots of pot holes in, clearly lack of investment. Swimming pool very dirty, I have a swimming pool so I know what a clean pool should be like. No dressing gowns provided. This is our 3rd stay and our last unfortunately. Staff very friendly however and clearly an asset to the company. Investment is key! For the prices charged.
